I would be a good thing if EVERY CHURCH in America was like this one - without the superstition, the irrationalism, and the hatred and fear-peddling of the supernaturalism-based churches.
Great video! Speaking together as a group with one message makes it clear and easy to grasp. It sounds funny...a church for Freethinkers, but you've made it a really good thing. Kudos!
hey fella's, looks like you're havin' a ball- That guy on the right sure as heck is one committed atheist and really joined in the "spirit" of things - seriously, I can well imagine living in texas you would need to join some sort of group of like minded non believers, given that we hear so much about the bible believers in the southern states of america
... Church ???? Guys, we can't become like them. Have a study group, talk about injustices or legal proceedings that need to take way.. but not a church.
Hey morons, you do realise that in creating a anti-religion you are in fact creating another religion.
There is no difference between your rants and the christians. BTW really good choice to speak together as one voice in the church of freethought, it really sends the right message.
It is a common deficiency in minds of believers that they cannot even grasp the concept of non-belief, so they assume non-believers must be "worshipping" something. I've even heard many Christians claim that atheists are Satan worshippers, when in fact the Christians themselves are the only ones who believe in Satan.
But the act of joining together in a church just in spit of all religion is a religion in it self. I bet you are on some kind of mission to convince people that your way of thinking is the correct one. That's where it goes wrong not you the person, you the one of many. If you where truly free from the idee of god, you would not need a church. You would not need assurance every...what? thursday. But then again you are not free.
The NTCOF is simply a community of freethinkers that borrows the church format. There is no dogma. There is no worship. It simply creates the social atmosphere that most churches enjoy, without the superstition. You can continue to imagine all sorts of things you *think* you know about this group, but you've been wrong on all counts so far.
So you do not try to convert people to your way of thinking? You are not under some sort of illusion that your way of thinking (ea the existence of god/s in this case)is the only correct one? My ears must be full of cotton becouse i could swear that twelve voices spoke as one.
I suppose you would have preferred a video where everyone spoke out of turn incoherently. There wouldn't be much of a point in that, would there? Again, you still seem to prefer your imagination rather than any attempt at establishing facts. Given that this is your unwavering attitude, I see no point in continuing this dialog.
There would indeed be a point, you could explain that you are not brainwashed since birth to believe in nothing. You could show the world that you where individuals and not just some cult.
And lastly agreed neither of us will be willing to give up even the smallest bit of land in this matter.
Why would a non-believer be motivated to refer to your book of fiction for some nugget of truth? I don't think you even comprehend the concept of non-belief. Do you somehow expect that this passage will have some profound impact on the non-believer who reads it?

"What's so self-destructive about critical thinking and reasoning?"
What makes them reasonable?
Calling themselves a Church for instance?
Fools....

Church of free thought?
How about the cult of self-destructive thought....
Much more fitting...

So much for "freethought". . .

"freethought" and they had to read from a script?

We didn't read from a script. We simply decided what to say prior to filming and just said it. It wasn't difficult. We're all pretty smart.
