I haven't watched the whole video yet but yes they are SF. Either Recon or Rangers i'd say. i'll pay closer attention to detail and find out i'd most likley rangers though. This isn't counterstrike dude. You can't just go out and buy silencers for your unit to slap on. The military has regulation and budgets for a reason.
And I ain't unknowing. I know there are regulations, as for budget I don't think the USMC or US Army would have a problem with silencer. The Swedish armed forces seem to have though...
As for regulations, it's not that uncommon with silencers. Just the noise of gunfire in tight areas can be really disorientating. You could use a breaker to split the sonic wave, but as far as I know they don't work too well.
But really I dunno about US armys regulations, but I don't think it's that impossible.
Well it is impossible for the majority of the US Army to get them. We tried very hard to get them for use in our recon platoons but it was a no go. Silencers cut the velocity of the round down anyway, making for a shorter range and less impact damage.
I think what you are seeing in the video is a muzzle break. Several popular versions shaped much like mini-silencers are in use on the M16/M4 series rifle however to date troop have had to buy these out of pocket.

I think u might not realize it but in your answer is the problem. The Army has alwasy (Vietnam vets confirmed) counted any dead as enemy dead. In rreports even by the media (until recently) they would mention a ficght some place and say a number and then dead Iraqis. Never a break down of civilians that were in the way or if it was enemy combatants. Plus you add an RPG or AK and right there you have yur enemy combatant.. just add water that easy

Baqubah had always been a shit hole so even if a random bomb killed civilienas there was a chance there was aterrorist in there (I do not condone killing civilians but Baqubah was full of A holes). while it is true the military does inflate numbers, most modern counts of enemy dead are from confermed dead, so unless there's a body, then its no insurget KIA. but as for if they're really Terrorists and not just PO's locals, well thats always disputeable.

I think u might not realize it but in your answer is the problem. The Army has alwasy (Vietnam vets confirmed) counted any dead as enemy dead. In rreports even by the media (until recently) they would mention a ficght some place and say a number and then dead Iraqis. Never a break down of civilians that were in the way or if it was enemy combatants. Plus you add an RPG or AK and right there you have yur enemy combatant.. just add water that easy

well if youre saying the problem is identifying hostiles vs civilians, well then its as simple as confirming if they're shooting at you or not. Our soldiers don't plant arms near dead to make them appear hostile, and if they did, Ive never heard any case of it. It seems like youre trying to make the soldiers out as villians, its not like they don't have ROEs to follow

Generally there are ROEs that are followed at all times and there might be situational ROEs depeding on the mission, or situation in general.

yeah its the sonic boom of the projectile. i cant remember the exact figures but the difference in speed between the 'whipcrack' and the report of the weapon from the muzzle is aprox 600 m/sec. so a difference of 0.5 secs would indicate the firer is 300 m away. as far as i can remember
