Just to clear up about how everyone is saying how luis's opponent can choose to not cut. This is not actually true. The game rule at what was know as 32+k Competetive events (ie anything above a grand prix). When ever your opponent shuffles his deck. You as the opponent HAS to randomize his deck as wel afterwards. This isnt enforced as much as we as judges would like but it is actually a rule. If this video was brought up, it would be luis's opponent who would get in trouble if anything.
wow. someone really sent it to dci. well, heres the thing. dci is automatically gonna know wat happened in the video, and even if he did cheat, the judges would have called it when it happened. some people are complete and total fuckin morons
@kuroryuud my brother and me play it now a lot...my friend has a white/red deck and play magic quite some time...hes teaching me and im building up my deck slowly :D
@pubeex Start off with the basics of gameplay, and dont be afraid to ask questions. Magic Workstation is a free download that gives you access to over 18k cards, pre-built decks, and allows you to build any deck and practice playing online against other players. Look at proven decks and figure out how they work. Don't get down if your fist decks dont play out the way you want, not even the best decks win everytime. And know that this is a constant learning exp. for even the most advanced players
@Teriblthundrlzrd Damn man you are a prick! Most of us are just saying that this video wasn't put up for new players who haven't learned the cards. They're more than welcome to watch it in befuddlement, but we're suggesting they watch simpler videos, and when they have learned the cards, watch this to be able to grasp what is going on. And BTW you don't need to know all 18,000 cards by art, just the couple hundred or so in standard, a.k.a. the premire format!
@palkianaruto And you are obviously a complete moron if you can't understand (after all I've only posted it a half dozen times) that it is completely acceptable that this video is not going to be understood by newer players, and furthur more it is okay to suggest to them that same point. As long as you're not being a dick to someone just cause they asked a question. So please I am done with this argument, and if you feel the need to continue to not understand something please pester someone else
How are some of you going to tell someone that this video isnt for them? Maybe they dont know whats going on, but thats probably why they're here.. to learn. Not a single one of us was born knowing everything we know about Magic, and we all had to ask questions. So don't think you can be a prick just because it's no longer your turn to be a NooB.
If you honestly didn't know the standard environment at the time of this video, you should have learned it. The TARGET audience, was people who can easily identify cards by their art and identify plays to enjoy.
@EvilSwordProductions TARGET Auduence? LMAO! My bad I must have missed the part of the video that said "This is only for the most advanced MTG players that can identify all 18,000+ cards by the art. Don't ask any questions because you should know it all by now" Look As older more experienced players we should welcome Noobs not tell them they can't ask questions or watch a clip. We were all there at one time, and putting someone else down for being there now is just pathetic.
@Teriblthundrlzrd See, it's really funny, because when somebody mentions a TARGET audience, they mean this video is more enjoyable for THAT specific audience. It doesn't mean nobody else is allowed to watch it. There wasn't any editing done to show the names/abilities of cards, so maybe, JUST MAYBE, this video was intended for people who know cards by their art.
@SpartanW0lf3 And MAYBE just MAYBE the Traget audience is anyone who wants to watch the damned thing. I mean seeing as how it is a Public Video on a Public Forum, of a game being played in a PUBLIC TOURNY! So dont try to sit there and justify being an asshole to a newer player that wants to ask a question or two because they're not the "Target Audience", because thats just bullshit.
@Teriblthundrlzrd I wasn't being an asshole to a person asking a question. In fact there are still things I don't completely understand about the game. I was just saying that the video is geared more toward people who know the cards by art. Anybody else can watch it too, but of course they won't understand as well as the others. Oh, and by the way, just because this video is public, not everybody who watches it is the target audience. Smoking areas are public, are nonsmokers the target audience?
@SpartanW0lf3 Wow, you'll just throw anything into a conversation and hope it makes a point wont you? I didnt know that smoking booths had target audiences, but I do know that non-smokers can go in them and not be told they shouldnt be there. And honestly I was just making a general statement to the few people I've seen on diffrent post that are being rude to people for asking questions, and if you're not one of them (which is cool) then why are you even addressing me under this issue?
@SpartanW0lf3 If you're not being an asshole to newer players then thats great. But by your definition The "Target Audience" for my original post was "geared" towards older players that have been rude to newer players. So why is it that you are commenting on this post if you are not the "target audience?" Cause it's on a public forum that's why. But dont worry I'm not going to be an asshole to you for doing so. ;)
@swistaczek103 the opponent has the option of cutting or not. he presented the deck the opponent didn't do anything, so he moved his deck to his library location.
@swistaczek103 and another thing that brian Greere didnt added....LsV waited for 30 seconds to move his deck back to his LIB location...so its the other guys "fault"
Can he pull off a 16-0? Who the hell knows because we don't know which side he is playing on. I think the guy on the left won...is that Vargas? Who knows? Need some better editing man. Introduce the players, name the decks, show a life counter. How can we tell when putrid leech's ability is triggered, we can't see or hear it. Take a tip from Evan Irwin, he overdubs some great commentary, keeping you up on what is going on in the game.
Wow people love to complain. The video was fine. If you don't know what the cards are then perhaps you should ask yourself if you are the target audience.
@BassmanARW I know most of them, only reason I don't know all is because I joined just after Mirrodin Besieged was released. Even though I know the cards, I prefer having commentary.
Sorry, needs commentary rather than squinting to see what card was played and because of some of the camera movement at least one card was played by the guy on the right that could not be seen.
Interesting match. Seemed as though Louie's opponent was more mana screwed than anything else. The Ranger of Eos into two Wild Nacatls pretty much decided the match at that point.
they should have u doing the vids for the pro tour cercut it would be way better quality and u could get some of ur power 9 pro team to help u out and make watching this game we like to play so much more interesting
@nathones HAHAHa, i meant to put the @ to someone else, the guy talking about what he " shouldve " done haha, i know, i love the quality of deckbuilder videos.
His opponent got him down to 2 in the end, but didn't get there.
The Leaches should've been played more aggressively. When Ranger attacked, take 4. Opponent swings back, Terminate is still in hand for an unprofitable double block if the Nactals try.

@carthwolf How about for those of us who don't know what is going on. I don't know what is happening most of the time. I am more a casual player and I need some commentary or else it may as well be any two schmucks playing. So no the view that is not "in the know" cannot discern how dude got to 4 life or what happened etc. Or possibly even some color commentating about what you feel each player SHOULD have done. It was a lazy upload PERIOD!
@thegreatcerebral I appreciate your opinion, but i will still have to respectfully disagree. Even for casual players who are not in the know, most of these spells are fairly common. They have been in standard for almost two years and one of the decks is the highest played deck around. Sorry that you feel putting this video together and uploading it was to lazy.
@carthwolf I gotta agree with you... Putrid leech and noble heirarch are staples. Ranger of Eos is kinda strange but he even zoomed in on em.. Anyway, life totals would be nice. It is hard to keep track of that while watching. I'm no mathematician just a magic player.
@carthwolf I realize they are common but as I said to someone else I cannot see what happened at 4:30 because it was not in frame. Then you have the fact that even people who commonly play FNM may not be able to keep up with the flow of professional matches like this. Obviously I'm not the only one that thinks so look above and at least one other agrees with me. Yes it was lazy, you didn't "put together" anything. There aren't any cuts, no edits... LAZY
@thegreatcerebral You're fucking stupid if you don't know what was cast at 4:30. What's the only spell in standard that Jund plays to deal 3 damage and discard 2 cards? You can even see a portion of the picture. You don't need to be a pro to see that. Thanks for uploading this, Brian. Don't bother with idiots like this guy.
@Otosreborn I know what card does that. My point is that I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know he went down 3 life and discarded 2 cards. That was my point. All of a sudden cards were moving around etc. There is a lot different of a flow in Casual vs. FNM vs. Big Tournaments. I am not used to watching tournament footage where nobody is giving commentary, I do not know the decklists and NO I don't always know what is going on. So Fuck you very much. I'm not an idiot!
@thegreatcerebral A casual player complaining about not understanding the height of competitive magic. Classic! This video isn't for you, it's for those of us who play competitive magic and can appreciate it and I for one think you are whiney and ignorant.
