1:44 I am pretty sure is Killin. One of my favourite places in Scotland. I remember sitting on the rocks there after hearing about the death of a dear family friend. I will always remember how peaceful the water was that day and how calming it way for me.
One addition/correction to my previous comment: the cd I have is "Spirit of the Glen - Journey". It may only be a difference in semantics, which, like I said before, which makes it a moot point. The album I have "Highland Cathedral" on is the album of the same name. Enjoy.
It is beautiful scenery and the music is so appropriate for it. But, that version isn't the one from "Spirit of the Glen" cd. There is no piano in that one - unless they have re-released it. All that is really a moot point because of the splendor of both the music and scenery.
@TheBlackDesign May be so but it still doesn't make it Scottish. It is at best pseudo-Scottish. Fine tune right enough but I just think if we have a new anthem then it should at least be a Scottish song. We have plenty to choose from.

@Connelly90 She's the Queen of Scotland - as a descendant of the Scottish Monarchy - more than she's the Queen of England, so I think Royal and Scots go together splendidly :P
shivers down my spine, goosebumps all over my body and tears running down my face............... thank you for sharing this beautiful music with us!!!!
my favourite video for this song, they played this at both my grandfathers funeral (a true scot) and today we heard it at my mothers. the footage in this is awesome, great job
I will never betray my country no matter, in Sweden, I was born, and one country's traitor, I will never be either, but scotland will always be in my heart as much I feel for my country.
For a big tartan exhibit at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), in the mid 80's the late Malcolm Forbes, then CEO of Forbes Magazine (and owner of the yacht Highlander), paid to fly from Scotland to Manhattan the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. This was the stunning piece they played on a NYC street Mayor Koch closed -- so all of us in black-tie and kilts (with Dewars in-hand) could watch the full parade. Later that year in Edinburgh, I paid a piper to play this three times. Crank-up the volume!
i live here in denmark, my dad is scot. i have a alot of family over there.

Thanks Glenzboyz,I've looked at quite a few clips you have put on You Tube, you are one very proud Scotsman and as a Scot who went down under many, many years ago my heart still swells with pride when I hear music like this, once a Scot always a Scot.
Hey, "midgetturnbull" ... I really thought you made a great comment.! So awesome when people feel really pride and joy to be who they are... and show such great support for their country... it's so cool! Love it! :) Take care!

Just popped on here to listen to this track again- You have a truly awesome collection of Pipe music- thanks so much for posting this0 its is inspiring to listen to!!
How could anyone not fall in love with scotland is beyond me. I'm French, with celtic roots, and i though i am a proud Breton, i would have loved to be born in scotland. This land is just pure magic and deserves the utmost respect. So does its people. Peace, scotland.
think i have listened to nearly every version of this song on you tube well versions that involve bagpipes yes even a version from a pipe & drum band from deepest darkest essex where i am located and even that sounds great lol. mikey
i'm a proud englishman but this deffinately touches the heart and soul of any male or female no matter what nationality. superbly played and very emotional to listen too. scotland you have a beautiful country no wonder your proud. will wipe the tears away from my eyes and listen to this again and again . mikey
@punchy39 doing genetics its funny how most english and scotsmen once spoke P celtic languages including older forms of pictish/welsh/ cornish....but they either extinct or oppressed to the fringes
as a proud englishman this brought a tear to my eye, maybe its the scottish ancestry coming out in me, be very proud of your landscape people of scotland, it stands up against scenery from anywhere in the world. love and peace from england.
@krzydchkid Although this was Composed by two German s it was actually set to the Bagpipes by a Pipe Major Brian Gillies from Our Grey Auld Town in the Borders HAWICK, Info can be obtained from either The Hawick Pipe Band site or Scocha .com . Hope this helps
@krzydchkid Hi I bumped into PipeMajor Cammy Renwick of the Hawick Pipe Band today ,told him of your intrest in this ,he indeed has the sheet music to this Although he did say it was 8 pages and very challenging piece, but would be morethan willing to get you copies ,
@MissDumyat this song is 1 of the best i know out there and belive me i listen to some rly bad stuff altough i play on the snare whenever the band starts playing my neck hairs rise and my skin get goosebumbs(srry for my english i'm dutch) enjoy this song and be sure to pass it on to every1 of your generations
Scottish and proud!. i want this played at my wedding and funeral. if i have a kid i'm gonna let him know fully of his Scottish blood, Scottish routs and Scottish homeland whether he's born here, in a different country or different continent. Makes me proud knowing that despite being from south-west Scotland (Dumfries& Galloway), i walked the west highland way and great glen way through these highlands :)
Haha, pride stirs in my blood when I hear the precious pipes playing. In spite of my given pseudonym, I am not all Irish, my father is half scottish, and we now also think that my mum's mum may have not been totally forthcomin on her heritage as in the documents it says Scotch-Irish. Either way, I'm proud of both sides...proud of my Gaelic heritage on both sides. Especially since we are so similar in virtually every way but religion and governance.
If I wasn't Dutch, I would be proud to be a Scotsman! I've played the pipes for four years in the oldest pipeband on the mainland (Dutch pipes and drums from Tilburg)
Highland cathedral was my favourite. I've played the tune once at sunset on a summercamp with my scouts somewere at the Grampian mountains. I could not stp crying
Found this music through Phil Coulter's music. Thanks for uploading! Ordered and received two CD's of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards at Amazon and probably visit them at the Tattoo at Windsor Castle in May 2011 or Edinburgh in August 2011. Not bad for a Dutch lady don't you think :)
Makes me proud to be Scottish. Everytime I hear this tune played on the bagpipes it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I get a tear in my eye.......
You should be hired by the scottish tourist people or even British Airways.Been in Canada 30yrs,when I here this music I want to come home, where the hell is my passport.
Thank You i just heard 5 viedo and music out of many, its all great .its scenery is just breath taking.some day i'm hoping to visit your contry, all are just macnificent...
Thankyou for posting this brilliant video. Have travelled far and wide but nothing can compare to the sheer beauty of the Scottish Highlands. We all yearn to return some day but that"s not always possible, but we all have magical memories of days gone by growing up in this beautiful Country. Hail Caledonia and the beautiful Black Isle. Best wishes
The version for Concert band by Philip Sparke called "Ardross Castle" (Mvt. 1 from Hymn of the Highlands) is very beautiful too for those of you who haven't heard that version yet :)

How could anyone not fall in love with scotland is beyond me. I'm French, with celtic roots, and i though i am a proud Breton, i would have loved to be born in scotland. This land is just pure magic and deserves the utmost respect. So does its people. Peace, scotland.

I'm an Irish Gael. I think that the Scots just have to adopt this song as their national anthem.
(If ye don't want it maybe we could borrow it. lol)

MetalsBurden 11 months ago 3
@MetalsBurden Aye proud always.........a' the best mate !
glenzboyz 11 months ago

I could not stp crying
pe1pme 11 months ago 3
@pe1pme Yeah Highland Cathedral is a fav of many.
The Grampian area is great Speyside & Deeside !

Scotland...Put some words to this and make it your anthem!
It's majestic, noble, grand.
It gives me goosebumps.
I'm tempted to start my own country just so I can make this my own.
