  • What sad person would "dislike" this. Their poor soul

  • How can people listen to him and still say there's no God?

  • @Tiroke It's interesting, I think perfectly the same, such music cannot be written without God, even if they don't think about it at the time of writing. Of course, it's nothing direct, still the beauty of this song and similarly beautiful music makes it impossible that we are without God.

  • fantastic song.....

  • I remember reading in an interview that Thom said he had to emotionally detach himself to perform this song. If he didn't he would break down. It's not often you hear people this emotionally attached to their music. Yet another thing that separates Radiohead from so many other bands.

  • Thom Yorke and Radiohead were the Pink Floyd of my generation! His vocals and the haunting music of this tune are timeless, I've had it on steady rotation for over a decade now and it NEVER gets old!

  • My favorite live version of Street Spirit. More than Glastonbury, Astoria, BBC...

This version seems more slowly than the studio version, and the perfect sound of: "and faaaaaaaaade out, agaaaaaain" and the chorus of Ed at 2:19 it's really magic.

With love to Radiohead from Spain.

  • @FadeOut80 yeah it's certainly slower than the original, which just makes it more powerful.

  • FUCKING CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE

  • the person clapping around 2:07... for some reason i want to kill them, you just dont clap during this song.. not even when its over.. its just... i dno

  • do i even exist?

  • @Mumpuy nah

  • @Mumpuy yes you do :)

  • fantastic

  • It's the most beautifully depressing song ever. I love it.

  • how can he sings while playing it? i've tried it without singing and it was difficult enough.

  • @jjysoserious it's all in the wrist

  • @AOCRkid Thats what she said

  • @AOCRkid Thats what she said

  • @jjysoserious maybe cause he is Thom Yorke?

  • ma chanson préférée de RADIOHEAD

  • anyone read what thom said about this song?

  • @guidoop Yes

  • what does he say at the beginning ?????

  • @takovarra

"I hope it looks good on telly, because it sure looks fucking wierd in here."

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe thanks so much

  • Immerse your soul in Love <3

  • Immmmmmerrse youur souuuuuuuul in loooove,

    Immerse, your soul, in love

  • i like it before i lisen it

  • i like it befor i lisen it

  • When his voice cracks at 0:57 i break down.

  • The epitamy of greatness and pain rolled into one. Love it

  • i just heard the Stan street spirit on youtube. yes it is surprizingly good

  • damn they got billy corgan on drums

  • i literly stop anything i might be doing when this song pops in my ipod so i can fully apreciate it. I get lost in a trance, letting my mind wander with this song cleary heard.

So far, Radiohead has been the only ones that can do this to me

  • thank you so much for saying this. anyone who appreciates radiohead and their unique style of music like you should be honored. I have the same thing when i listen to this song.. i have to stop what im doing.. sit down and close my eyes while i listen to this song.. in order to appreciate it as much as it should be apprecieated. Thank you again for saying such smart words

  • @johnnymo221 must be comforting to have that kind of free time on your hands ay!!

  • @johnnymo221 I am the same way... It's interesting because they said they had a horrible time trying to get this song right in the studio... It was the most difficult for them on the bends. Being such a huge fan of the song I would love your feedback on my studio cover of this song which is on my profile. I need feedback from hardcore fans.

  • A melhor música do grupo! É fantástico. Muito bom Radiohead, vocês são de mais em suas composições!!!!!

  • Yes..Ian Curtis Joy Division he had epilipsy and he killed his self

  • he has a voice the glides down sweet as honey

  • they sound brilliant live!!! such a great song

  • i think that arcade fire and radiohead have almost equal songwriting although radiohead is slightly better

what separates them is thoms vocals

  • I'm sorry, but no, I'm buying that for one second. Personally I've never known anyone who writes music like Thom does, it's sensational.

  • exactly

  • ever heard of.... Ian Curtis ;)

  • Not! First of all, Radiohead songs are incredibly difficult to play. The guitar playing is pure brilliants, and they have much better timing, their timing is spot on as far as instrument to vocals...Arcade fire songs are sloppy.

  • kinda missin the old radiohead. dont get me wrong, their new stuff is great, but everytime i grab my ipod, its usually a song from the 90's...along with anything amnesiac

  • you don't have to "miss them" - you can still listen to the old stuff ;)

  • 90's . . . Oasis, The verve, Radiohead, Blur . . . Great time for music

  • And now what do we have??? Fukin JEDWARD!!!! 90's were very good years for music, proper music. I agree with you 100 % ;-)

  • yea its such a shame people with a brain with an actual proper taste in music have to come on you tube to listen to great songs

  • They did 2 great pop/rock albums. No need to record 10! I'm happy they chose to evolve. They offered us the best pop that can be written because it was meaningful to them. Today, almost every new pop/rock bands make music which takes after Pablo/Honey or The Bends... and this is often meaningless and coming 15 years after Radiohead.

Don't miss them :) Their early stuff is just more musically accessible for a single listening but they are as worthy as they were during the 90's, if not more!

  • i was leaning towards OK Computer but i totally agree with you! 100%

  • You are right, I forgot it, 3 pop/rock album then haha :D

  • I personally can't stand Pablo Honey.

  • Pablo Honey had some ok songs in my opinion, but still they were just OK. Nothing to compare to the stuff they put out afterwords.

  • pablo honey sucks.

  • @MitchGettman Pablo Honey was a great album for its time, if you look at it in context. It had a bunch of GREAT songs like creep, and anyone can play guitar. personally i think those songs measure up to anything radiohead did afterwards.

  • Клас блин.

  • the very best song by radiohead i was listenin 2 this on the bus again it really is tremendous

  • The bends is good. Parts of Pablo Honey are good also. Best songs from the 93-95 era are 1. Street spirit, 2 Just 3. Iron Lung, 4. Blow out. 5 Planet Telex 6 You 7.Creep 8. Bones 9. Fake plastic Trees 10High & Dry..

  • blow out, telex, creep before fake plastic? what are you on?

  • this is an alright version but check out th glasto 03 version for it perfect. sick song

  • The saddest song I've ever heard.

  • Comment removed

  • It's... just... so beautiful.

  • ..so fuckin real..

  • increible increible increible

  • i have an orgasm in my ears everytime i ear this music..

  • @microcuts01 so u also like OOS? :D best bands in the world

  • nice man, love gettin carried away with a radiohead song

  • What's he say at the beggining? xD

  • no comment!great!

  • this is the best song ever played

  • This is the most depressing song I know. No one should not be cheering at any time, ..they should be crying, or completely and utterly silent. At least they're not loud, I guess.

  • fucking beautiful song

  • this song is so depressing, but i love it.

  • la leggenda vivente

  • and most of you have absolutely no idea what this song is about. have a nice weekend

  • Shut the fuck up.

  • The stereotype of a radiohead fan is a pretentions "hipster"... thanks a lot for contributing to that stereotype and giving us REAL radiohead fans a bad name.

  • best song for me!!!mazing voice!!!thx radiohead...best band ever for me !!!my favourite!!!

  • Excellent singin voice!!

  • you melt me Tom

  • What is the most moving aspect of this song? My interpretation of the song is that someone is facing the prospect of death, knowing there is no escape. Knowing they are about to die. And they have no say in the matter. And so when that time comes, with their last effort, they realize the one thing that would make the world a better place. The one thing they would have changed. The one thing that would improve the quality of life. And so they shout it out, "Immerse Your Soul In Love".

  • I concur with your interpretation. I understand it in a very similar way.

  • search the song on wiki. thom basically says that the song's lyrics aren't really concrete, and are just trying to convey emotions. He said something like "this song is about looking the fking devil in the face and knowing he is going to get you". Supposedly the most depressing song he ever wrote.

  • In a metaphrorical sence, its about looking into the eyes of the Devil and of all the things he see's. For example, "Cracked Eggs, Dead Birds" He is basically in "Hell" and witnessing things "Fade Out".

  • Lovin' the vocals on this song

  • bahaha... people shouldn't post unless they know what they are talking about...

    **great song, great vid. **

  • "Wish people actually knew why he is the way he is. And why this song wrote itself. "

    Exactly...the song chose radiohead...

  • i actually the guitars are going slower than the album version which makes it that much more powerfull amazing version live

  • is my band, the song is te best in the worl bye bye is the from mexico

  • great song

  • Song and band are great, composing great melodies with awesome lyrics doesn't mean that he is suicidal this is lazy commenting...

  • is it bc. of the eye thing? I'm not one to pry, but Thom is like my favorite musician right now and i would hate to see anything bad happen to him

  • I know why

    *siGh*

  • Wish people actually knew why he is the way he is. And why this song wrote itself.

  • Please inform me, I've been dying to know.

  • Great Video. Where can I get this exact version of the song ? Was it the MTV '97 show ?

  • Yeah, its the 10 spot gig.

  • "A lot of people just seem to think we're this serious, humorless band, but a lot of things we do are really funny," adds Yorke. "On "Airbag" we had a great time. There was a party going on for like three days in a row.

  • yeh thats bollox! he hasn't attempted suicide! but he is one of the best singers out there... so your half right!

  • Does Thom suffer from depression or something?

Serious question, I'm not trying to put him down or anything. Just judging by his lyrics.

  • he said that this song wrote itself and he didnt decide any lyrics check the wikipedia page for the song

  • Evidence please...

  • he hard a pretty hard life, he was made fun of during his younger years because of his eye, and hes just a very quiet indiviual, hes not depressed, hes an artist

  • dude, what i'd say? im just saying what hes said before in interviews about himself and his life

  • he went to an all boys private school, his parents were rich, and he had an amazing musical talent. you call that a hard life?

He is certainly not a quite individual also.

  • No, he had a bad eye operation, thats why he has a bad eye.

  • Yeah...........evidence please....

  • This is pure Hopelessness

  • This was the live version I was looking for. Such emotion, they're amazing. Surely a big influence in my music. Anyone interested check my band's version of this song (with a girl singing) on my channel. Peace.

  • If Thom's gravestone had a lyrical quote,

I'd love it to be "IMMERSE YOUR SOUL IN LOVE".

The thing about those that feel sadness or depression or longing...is you have to have a lot of love and hope in you, or all the bad stuff would just feel acceptable.

It's the fact that Thom has see how the world should be, that makes dealing with how it is, so unbearable at times.

  • It's Magic..its Radiohead

  • This Song Makes Me Cry

I'm Not Exactly Sure Why,But I Think Its Due To The Overpowering Emotion That Thom Puts Into This Piece

  • Fadeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee outtttttttttttttttttttttttttttt agaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnn

    Brillianttttttttt:)

  • it's about looking at the devil's eyes and know you will lose...grrrrreat sooong! =)

  • Nobody could sing 3 words more emotionally than Thom sings "Fade out again".

    Beautiful.

  • I completely agree on that.

Thom's voice is not my favourite but I do believe there are very little people who can put their heart and soul into every single word just like this man does, it's amazing!

  • it's amazing

  • me too man is that weird lol

  • " Immerse your soul in love..."

  • The music they make, is so much more than music. They make you feel miserable while you actually are more than comfortable. Their music makes you feel feelings, no other songs in the world can make you feel. Thank god that they exist, so you aren't forced to hear all the new Chris Brown and Akon crap -.- ..

  • yes yes man yes

  • One of the very few bands to sound so very much better than their recordings.... (and their recordings are awesome)

  • oh my god i just got the chills so bad listening to this

  • this is music.

  • this is heaven (:

  • ESTA CANCION ES IMPRESIONANTE

  • I´m so totally agree....again

  • Yes, best Radiohead song ever.

  • can be ``lety down´´ as well

  • The best song...ever....

  • I agree

  • APC and no Tool on your list? Beck? Black Keys?

  • Thats a realy nice list, specialy Tool and the Black Keys, but i didnt hear mucht of the black keys lately, do they still play?

  • i will love radiohead forever, that's that problem :P

  • This is my favourite song of all time.

The only song that makes my nuts shrivel with awe. Everytime. XD

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    im high

  • it sounds really good live

  • This is a brilliant version of this song. It was highlighted on MTV's Live at the 10 Spot.

  • i love to radiohead.. its a best band..

  • Thank you so much for posting all these great sounding Radiohead tracks. Fantastic quality. Have copied them all and will play them to my Year 10's tomorrow during registration; send them off to lessons happy lol. Have been threatening to turn them on to Radiohead but could never find a good enough vid - thanx a million!!!!!

  • There are a lot of great bands today,Muse,Interpol,Placebo, tool,NIN,Ours but music has become cookie cutter,if it sells do the same shit to make a buck.Lifeless, emotionless throw away crap is what were left with, but we still buy it or they would not exist!

  • Don't forgot Mew and Elbow! Lot of emotion there.

  • Or Sigur Ros

  • grazie per questi video sono bellissimi.....

  • its good to know that music can still be made in my shitty generation.

  • ringadingding wat your genaration like u do know this was 11 years ago and the song was writen about13 to 14 year ago

  • naa, I agree with you partner

I'm only 19 years old, and I think the same.

music is getting pretty fucked off

  • I've had that thought in a long time. :o You don't need to be as good a musician to be popular and famous as in the old days in my opinion.

  • Yeah, you are right, because groups like The Archies with "Yummy Yummy Yummy" and all of the Monkees early stuff REALLY requires musical talent. I think talent is something you usually have to dig for, no matter the time period. We've just had a lot of time to look back on the 60's/70's and find all of the decent (if unknown at the time) bands of that era.

  • well, in the past if you were good, you became popular... that does not happen now with the overshadowing of the regulations and record company control.

Think about it, The beatles, cream, hendrix, pink floyd, allman bros. were all extremely good at what they did and it was easy for them to display that skill. That's not the case anymore where you have to call 4 weeks in advance to reserve a gig space instead of walking to a bar and playing. There's crap all over but moreso now!

  • Agreed. I'm hoping all of us young folk who are sick of the crap rise up soon and have another massive musical change in the coming years

  • My favourite all time song, and video (the original)

  • Got to see em live on the 9th it was Great:)

  • 1537 for me lol... most played song on my itunes :P

  • that means that you have spent at least five days listening to this song, or about 120 hours.

  • lol.. woop go me haha

  • holy god! i've had this audio for years and years! never seen the vid before

  • Bright eyes, Cornelius, Elliott Smith , Sunny Day Real Estate, Kris Rowley, etc

  • But for someone who hasn't really been into music for a while let me tell u man picking up that radiohead cd is the best thing that could have possibly happened to u, they're as good as it gets(changed my life) goin to see em in may:)

P.S. which album did u listen to? just curious.
