That'd be a consideration if possible, but it isn't. In SW mode the Grundig cannot interpret AM due to the way it's modulated, and especially not at 20db on 3270khz.
What you're hearing is Ecuador, "Ecos Del Oriente". Although "Ecos" is on mediumwave locally, that would not be picked up due to modulation parameters.
@TheGreatBunghole16 I am also just saying, that on my Grundig, TWO local AM stations, KITI 1420 & KELA 1470 show up on the lower Shortwave bands, and they broadcast at relatively low power. You do know your area better than me, and probably know better for this situation, but AM broadcast stations CAN show up on that band. I can even hear them on my cordless phone if I am standing in my yard at night.
This video was put up on ebay because these antennas were sold there, so most people linking to the video see the antenna already. In any case, if you type that number in the ebay search you'll see the ad and the pictures of the antenna.
Yeah, I couldn't really demonstrate the difference in FM reception that way because the signal is maxed out on all FM stations around here (very strong and close signals) with the built in antenna, so the external antenna would appear to perform the same.
On the shortwave channel though there was nothing at all with the antenna extended fully.
on shortwave, that station coming through sounded like a local AM station... just saying :)
