@AngiexRocky No, they have regular food bowls that they eat from every day. That Halloween bowl is mainly for serving candy to Trick-or-Treaters. The day we got it we thought it would be interesting to see what the cats would do with it. I think they played around with it for a day and then we took it away, cleaned it to get it ready to place candy in for Halloween. I appreciate your concern though, thanks...~Vis~

@weereelol I agree! We did a LOT of laughing when they first tried the bowl out, then decided to get a video of their quest to eat the chicken wing versus the boney hand coming out to bother them. They don't even know what a skeleton hand is, other than it's this white bunch of sticks that come out shaking at them and then it goes away. =) ~Vis~

@Joey0918 It is the BEST one out there so far that I've found. I bought it for halloween to put candy in it for the kids that come trick-or-treating, and we decided to test it out on our cat family first. They aren't really afraid of it, they are curious & are cautious of the boney hand & know it will come out to interrupt their attempt to eat, but they keep going back to the bowl to eat. I turn the hand mechanism off so they can eat the food. Then it's cleaned & filled with candy for Halloween.

@hinataoriginala1 Thank you! Got it at Walgreens and all of our cats are "rescues", we love 'em all very much, they are a big part of the family. I have one cat who is not in the video, she is a long haired tuxedo cat with big green eyes. She looks like a Ragdoll breed of cat. We rescued her from beneath a natural gas meter in a Wendy's Drive Thru! She was only 6 weeks old, crying & scared. She was soooo happy we went and got her out of there! We were too! She is one very prescious person to us.

@coolmikespenny He is the Alpha cat around here. He is 8 years old and very very wise. He has had a lot of experience in his life dealing with all kinds of other animals, insects, rodents & reptiles. He also protects the other cats. He is neutered and still duels other tom cats that come on our property. He was thinking and trying to catch vibes and thinking about how he would test the bowl out. My mind was thinking "go &grab the chicken & leave with it, snatch it out of there! You can do it!"

@nerdy5746 They do that alot! They always seem to be observing and thinking about something all the time. Since there are several cats that they have to share space & food with, the older ones are patient, they just watch and wait their turn. Also because the older ones are smart, they will let the younger ones test stuff out first so they won't have to. Thanks for your comment! =) ~Vis~

@dizkoteck I think I am surprised that it even did as much as you can see in the video! When I bought the bowl, I didn't even know it had a hand inside that would come out. I saw a door for batterys to go in and wondered why a bowl needed batterys? It was a "clearanced" item and did not come with a box. So when we put batterys in it and saw the hand come out, we thought that it was hilarious and wanted to see what our cats thought about it. ~Vis~

All of our cats are "rescues" and we keep all of our BLACK cats IN THE HOUSE during October since they are at a higher risk to be abducted (and worse) than at any other time of year. In October we do let them outside for a few hours to play & get fresh air during the daytime and only when we are home, then it's back inside for the evening. They are beautiful with golden and green/gold eyes. Very loving & intelligent. ~Vis~

The cats seem to be more cautious than afraid, they don't know what a bone hand is but they know 'something' will possibly come out of the back of the bowl at any time to disturb their dining. Very amusing and interesting video - makes a good study on cats.
