There is a lot of opposition to your activities in rural Ireland too. @leathuru This is a serious attack on people involved in rural sports, I stand for greyhounds while others stand for other hobbies or sports, you are from rural Ireland and you dont care but plenty of us do, my greyhounds are treated better far better than a lot of domesticated pets yet the antis see fit to set up my sport/passtime, I have yet to see blood lust in greyhounds but I see plenty of it in the Antis and their terrorists.

The cats get meat in every meal. It is actually possible to provide them with cat food containing all the protein, vitamins, nutrients etc. they need from vegetarian sources but the stuff is so expensive, the cost is prohibitive.
@leathuru greyhounds make excellent house pet far moreso than cats which are by nature even better hunters than dogs and being confined to a house is an alien environment to them. This is not a blood sport its being portrayed wrongly by people the purpose is not to kill anything but a true test of speed the dogs are muzzled so cant kill the hares. The hares benefit by being protected, treated and kept healthy. The biggest friend to the hare is the coursing folk. Look at the UK were open coursing was banned the hare populations have now been depleted. 98.7% of hares captured for coursing are returned to the wild, all the hares are womed and vacinated when cxaptured thus ensuring they go back into the wild far healthier than they came out of it.

@sonyabhoy I'm not a vegan - I'm a vegetarian. I look after cats, give them food, bring them to the vet if needs be etc. but I don't have them in the home apart from letting them into the back kitchen for food if it's raining. They need to be kept independent.

No one comes to his assistance and so he dies a slow and distressing death , he cannot stand up ,having been tossed around by the two dogs. This hare obviously ran in fear to the escape hatch despite already sustaining bone breaks and internal injuries. If you see the wire she is lying.

There is a lot of opposition to your activities in rural Ireland too. Ye have supporters and opponents in cities. and in the country although polls suggest that the vast majority of Irish people oppose bloodsports. We can discuss the rights and wrongs of hunting down and killing a stag but let's not try to pretend it's rural vs. urban because it's not.

@leathuru This is a serious attack on people involved in rural sports, I stand for greyhounds while others stand for other hobbies or sports, you are from rural Ireland and you dont care but plenty of us do, my greyhounds are treated better far better than a lot of domesticated pets yet the antis see fit to set up my sport/passtime, I have yet to see blood lust in greyhounds but I see plenty of it in the Antis and their terrorists.

@leathuru I have a 3 year old lad here on the couch, still racing because he loves it even if he could be graded a little better for me to get something towards his costs.......treated like a king and will stay with the family for his life, he has the traits we want in a pet.

The cats get meat in every meal. It is actually possible to provide them with cat food containing all the protein, vitamins, nutrients etc. they need from vegetarian sources but the stuff is so expensive, the cost is prohibitive.

@leathuru greyhounds make excellent house pet far moreso than cats which are by nature even better hunters than dogs and being confined to a house is an alien environment to them. Of course the antis dont understand the cats hunting nature as many of them keep cats confined to their houses depriving them of their primal urge to hunt rats and mice. Do they know that cats need meat or else they can go blind? It would not seem so.

The aims of the extremists in the animal rights wing of the green party is to impose their viewpoint of a few hundred urban dwellers on rural Irelaland but it won't work.

Yet she stands by it makes no denouncement for the action contained in it and has not removed her video. Either she is the only person world wide not to see that the video taker and accomplice have staged a strangulation of a live hare with a wire noose, to discredit coursing. I do agree with many of the RISE views, but there are some that i do not, so unfortunately I feel unable to sign the petition. Is there any other group involved in this debate that I can see ??? I really hope there is a prosecution made.... but with the convenient use of " Swedish" students my hope may be in vein.I am certainly still on the fence on this one but I am 100% certain I will not be supporting the hunt saboteurs movement. I am shocked and appalled at Bernie Wrights video. how is she an adviser to the green party. Her views are extremist to say the least and this group of people should NOT be listened to. I know we live in a free country but they do not represent a balanced view of the debate.
