  • very interesting

  • First time I've actually enjoyed history. :)

  • I wish you would talk about literature associated with the time of events as well. Tale of Two Cities would have tied in nicely

  • where is 14:51?

  • I love the drawings of stacks of grain

  • Hey Sal ,,,I think U Need to Use Big Pics in ths Videos ...

  • The Holy Roman Empire was so called because it dates from Charlemagne's Empire in the 9th century (actually it is one of the successors of Charlemagne's empire) who had the title of Emperor of the Romans as well as King of the Franks, his tribe. This empire was "Holy Roman" because it had the benediction of the Pope in Rome.

  • LOL, this is getting crazier and crazier.

  • Marie Antoinette is hoarding grain, omg that part made me laugh so hard!!!

  • Let's get Larry the Cable Guy off the History Channel and get Sal on.

  • very good video!

small point - great britain is the name of the largest island of UK/Britain its not a country.

  • @spaceghost1313 Where does Jersey come in the rankings? Jersey is not part of the UK, but is part of Great Britain. Did you know that?

  • @spaceghost1313 It was called the Kingdom of Great Britain at the time (since the Act of Union in 1707), so he is absolutely correct to call it that.

In fact, Germans still refer to the UK as "Grossbritannien" and very rarely call it "Vereinigtes Koenigreich" (=United Kingdom). Might be similar in other countries too.

  • @PhotoPlankton

yea france calls us grande bretagne still. weird coincidence, I was reading about kindgom of britain today. youre right ,it was called that till 1800. so 1 year after it chnaged

  • I like how you said "Oh and by the way I'm your brother, I ....want to help you out too!"

    :)

  • Let them eat cake.

  • Its amazing that Sal is the only one.......that I've found........that does this sort of thing.

    Say goodbye to the NEA!

    God, that felt good!

  • On the last video I said don't do history. I lied. This is great. You go WAY more in depth than my school ever did.

  • WOW history. You are a hard working brotha lol

  • Go Khan,

    Doing some history. YA!

  • I am the happiest person probably here,

i stop by to check everyday if he has uploaded new videos or not and when i saw he has done history, I was just flying....

  • Please make more history videos. =)

  • We want part 3!!,

    We want part 3!!,

    We want part 3!!,

    We want part 3!!,

Or you'll see the revolution coming Sal...

Thanks for everything man.. You are a god send...

  • wow history too...

  • MAOR!

  • It should be noted that the French Revolution was very much centred in and around Paris, in what would now be categorised as the Île-de-France, and was not a state-wide phenomenon, since the vast majority of France was not a state as such, at that time (The Discovery of France by Graham Robb). And still wasn't until decades after the demise of Napoleon Bonaparte. France as we think of it now, is very much a post WW1 phenomenon.

  • Think you can do Spanish too?

  • This man is unstoppable; which is a good thing. Everyone should write to those people who have won Nobel prizes and have Professor Khan nominated for the next one. I've written to former President Carter and he said he would. I guess I need to write to President Obama. The rules are only presidents of universities and former receivers of the prize can nominate someone for this great honor. Please keep sending those emails ladies and gentlemen.

  • Man, math, science, and you're good at teaching history too! You're unstoppable.

  • The guy is just fucking amazing, and is a fucking inspiration to man kind. Sal was just placed on this planet to fix and revolutionize education. Oh, and I really wanted to say this, but no need for the history channel now lol.

  • @anothercalmstep

wish i would have a teacher like this, i got a guy which dont even know how to speak jess

  • I'm covering Rome in western civ, would like to see some more Rome
