The only reason alot of theist videos have a bunch of dislikes is because theres a bunch of atheist on youtube. All the atheist are on the internet slackin off jackin off lookin at porno and doing other stupid nonsense on the computer. While the theist are out helping people and doing good deeds.
1. Jesus' teachings were consistent in that they taught us to love one another, and to have mutual undrstanding of one another's plight. There are MANY things in the OT that are not compatible with those teachings, and did you consider that maybe Jesus didn't think he had enough time to cover them all with his disciples? Leviticus is one of those books that contain very hateful, very negative verses, including the ones against homosexuality. It is incompatible with Jesus' teachings. (cont.)
2. You probably also believe that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuality. Ahem... you are wrong. FAIL. The truth is that the story makes mention of a group of men attempting gang rape. Are you really about to accuse homosexuals of being rapists? Oh, and that mention of gang rape hadn't come along until God had already decided to destroy the cities. Before, then, no mention of homosexuality in any way. There were other, more important factors that went into play. (cont.)
3. Really? The apostle Paul? That sexist?! Are you JOKING? He said that the effeminate would not inherit the kingdom of God. So, no matter how much love a dude has in his heart, no matter how much compassion he has, even if he happens to be straight, if he acts even a little bit femenine, HE'S GOING TO HELL. Also, Paul said that women should not speak in church, but you're still going to rely on what he said to back up your bigotry? You really need to reexamine your morals. (cont.)
I mean, how can you honestly believe that just because Paul happened to get his letters to the Romans and Corinthians in the Bible, he's automatically flawless in his interpretation of God's word? He isn't God, nor is he the Messiah, so his teachings were bound to have some flaws in them! He's just another regular guy, like you, the guy in the video whose name I don't know. That means that while I may agree with him on some things, I disagree with others. I DISagree with his sexist views! (cont.
@radicaldreamer927 4. I noticed in the list of videos on the side a video entitled "We Believe God but Not the Bible." Uploaded by you. Way to shoot yourself in the foot with that painfully obvious contradiction to this video.
@radicaldreamer927 You are correct sir, I appreciate people who actually research the 500+ year history of rabbinical cratique of sodom instead instead of inventing an interpretation that they find convenient. I have some other information debunking the other passages traditionally used to persecute homosexuals as well. Send me a message some time if you'd like to chat. :)
I don't need God. I live a fulfilling, morally correct life in a manner that allows me to attain happiness without harming the happiness of another human being.
I don't believe in God, but I'm pretty sure that's what he'd want.
Personally, I believe that when the Bible said that "a man shouldn't lay with anouther man" it was ment purley for procreation. I think that since adoption is now an option, that could (metephorically) be taken out of the Bible. I think that there is nothing wrong with being homosexual or bisexual etc. etc. and I'm Christian.
@lolwtfWHY Seeing as how humans, being intelligent creations, would have rapidly realized the lack of genitalia necessary for procreation, i doubt the necessity of this command for the purpose of procreation. An additional note, there are references to homosexuality in the new testament, see Romans 1:26 and 27,
yeah, and jesus also understood what you don't understand---unconditional love---which means acceptance of everything and everyone.
and, yeah, let's face it already-bible was change thrue may years by many politicians who wanted to control their nation and make them work in the way they wanted...so,you think there was a place for homosexuality if they wanted their nation to multiple by higher birthrate so they can have more "work bees"...
I just can't stand how christians always try to look down on people who are gay or of other religions. I am an asexual atheist myself, and don't care about other people's lifestyles, but it's extremely irritating to constantly hear complaining about something like that just because some fictional book doesn't allow it.
It's also sickening that you say "born gay" with being "born an alcoholic" or "born manic depressive"
In addition, I have grown up with many people who became homosexual. Their search for themselves is extremely long and complicated- and the end result actually mostly matters on their social interactions during this time.
Saying that someone was born homosexual is like saying someone way born homophobic.
@soooooomething No you can be gay, it doesnt manifest until later in life. Its like cancer, you may have the cancer cells in your body but they dont activate until later in life. Now im not saying homosexuality is cancerous, im saying it acts like cancer, it doesnt hurt you at all though. And if you call me homophobic, youre retarded seeing as im gay myself and love that fact.
@soooooomething I was meaning that cancer doesnt start to kill you imediatly, it has a delayed rxn. Same thing with Homosexuality, it does not manifest, visibly, until later in life. Same thing as PTSD, a mental instability, does not immediatly form, it takes time. I know many gay people that say they were born gay, its never obvious until that person is at least into their teenage years. Tbh I dont know how you couldve misinterpreted that.
@HappyIsFleeting People aren't born with PTSD. It's a person's physical experiences that determine if they get PTSD, like their experiences in the army.
Yes, many gay people do have life changing experiences that don't change their sexuality until many years later.
How do you not see that what im refrencing are not born illnesses? I said that PTSD does not form imediatly, however, I did not say you are born with it. Homosexuality is developed in the womb, it then manifests later in life. You can be born homosexual, there isnt an event that could change a person's orientation, no ifs about it.
@soooooomething You can only discover your sexuality, not change it. Events change our personaliy and actions, not our primal needs and wants.Homosexuality is a primal need/want, somthing like that cannot be changed
@soooooomething Make that two out of thirty. Also the fact that I was born gay makes me think you are lying. Of course you could always name the other 29 gays you know that say they chose to be gay.
I'm gay and there is no way that i'm going to "live" my entire life abstaining from sex just to be Christian. I like guys, I don't think I should have to live alone my entire life because I love my boyfriend.
Also I'm really not fond of the fact that its a sin to get a haircut.... but we all do that so you kinda skipped over that one huh... smh
Also science concludes that people can in fact be "born alchoholics" based on extensive studies with identical twins. Other studies conclude that there are certain genes that increase one's tendency towards alcoholism (Journal of Neuroscience). I think you are deluding yourself with your bullshit beliefs.
Jesus was a wise man. He would never discriminate based on sex, color, or orientation. Saying he would is a grievous insult to his memory. If you truly want to follow Jesus stop judging others.
"If Jesus didn't talk about something, that must mean he believed in it." (0:50) - That more likely means the opposite of what you believe.
By your reasoning, Christians who live by the Old Testament are Jewish.
I have studied the bible and I know for fact that Jesus was a revolutionary. It is just as probable that he withheld his beliefs on the matter or even that the Bible omits Jesus' true beliefs on it. Personally, I think Jesus wouldn't discriminate based on orientation.
@1234Rorie wrong... God did indeed created everything. So, in a sense, he created homosexuals. BUT.. God doesnt make every one of our lives decisions. If he did, there would be no hell. there would only be heaven, and there would be no such thing as sin because God himself does not sin. If God made every decision for us, whether it is choosing between chocolate and vanilla ice cream, or saying yes or no when someone proposes to you, then he would have created a bunch of robots. not human beings.
@DrTrickShot Well, I wouldn't really call myself stupid. Look, I'm not trying to argue with you. I know that the bible has a lot of good lessons to teach (as do other religious texts) whether you're Christian or not. I'm not trying to shoot down Christianity at all. All religious texts, even my own, make points that I don't agree with. That's all I was saying in the beginning.
..By the way, what do you mean Jesus was a good Jew? Are you saying that most Jews aren't good? You seem to be prejudice against people who's beliefs don't exactly coincide with your own. You need to open up your eyes.
@TheJazzaccount Are you saying that you dont have a favorite type of icecream?
I guess you are prejudice. You dont like vanilla and you love chocolate. are you saying that some icecream not your favorite? and maybe you dont have a taste for them? yes.
@DrTrickShot I'm not exactly sure about what you mean with the whole ice cream metaphor, but I'm not prejudice in any form. I don't dislike the pursuit blog guy because of his beliefs. I don't dislike him at all actually. I just (in my personal opinion) think he's wrong about some of the things he says, but I do appreciate that he discourages callous behavior. Despite this, I think that there is good in all religions.
...The bible was written by people, not God. I believe all religion has been corrupted by people and we need to not follow the bible word for word, like sheep, and find what we know is right. You now, I've recently have come into some studies that show that women who are gay naturally have a higher testosterone level than women who aren't and men who are gay have a higher estrogen level that men who aren't... it still goes on... sorry...
@TheJazzaccount 2 people on opposite sides of the world both wrote the bible in different languages word for word, are you saying that this is just a coincidence?
@DrTrickShot Not to be blunt, but I don't know what your talking about. The bible was written by Jesus's followers. It's been translated into several languages though.
I have a friend who went through torture hiding that she was gay. She eventually became depressed and began engaging in self-harm. She eventually realized that it was just a part of who she was and when she came out, she was so happy and hasn't harmed herself since. Being gay is not a sin! I don't care what the bible says... my comment is a bit long, so keep reading...
Love is love. It doesn't matter if it's between two men, two women, two persons that consider them selves as both man and woman, or whatever. Love is love, and all love is good love. No love can be called a sin.
I don't believe in a God or a heaven or a hell, or anything. Because religions consider my life, my choices and my love as sins. An according to me my life is just wonderful, no sins here. Or as I say every time people say "Thats a sin" I just say "If that's a sin then I'm going to hell"
I'm completely confident in that if a homosexual person prayed to God that he would relieve him from the state of his mind that people define as "homosexuality", God would "cure" him, no question about it, it's about the acceptance of putting away your own sinful ways, cus believe me, God is fully capable of that, if you just let him work.
I don't think that anyone's born gay, none of us is born what we become later on and comparing a physical attribute with a mental state of mind just doesn't add up, atleast that's what I think..
@Flingurt - I respect your opinion, but obviously do not agree with you. I don't think God cares about sexuality when the world has larger problems than a small minority he created the way they are in the first place. I believe in polar opposites - possitive / neggitive - light / dark etc and believe if people are born straight, they must be born gay. Why on earth would anybody choose it? With all the hatred directed towards them (even death in some countries) I dont see how they would benifit
We "choose" alot of things without even knowing it, If I for example was scared of thunder and lightning, that would probably not be because I actively choose it, neither that I was born with the fear, rather that something happened during my growth that affected my thoughts, constructing something in my head that isn't completely true, u get how I mean?
I'm convinced that it's all in the head, you're not, and that's ok, we're not here to bash eachother :D
Hey bro, I agree with everything you said except one thing. I don't believe you can be a Christian and be gay. That kind of makes it seem like you're not struggling. Instead, it's better to say it's possible to be a Christian and a recovering homosexual. If someone is a Christian, they can't look at themselves and say, "Oh well. I'm gay." They need to become a new creation so that God can heal them from that sin and completely renew their mind. Same way I shouldn't lust after women. God bless!
@agathorsmith123grub Apparently, the water that came from that rain also was enough to cover all land on the entire planet, even though rain is the result of the vaporized version of the water that already exists on the planet.
@sandvikboy94 Just a note, current biblical scientists believe that the causation of a global flood would be enormous hypercanes, hurricanes on a phenomenal scale. These hypercanes, created by the eruption of underwater volcanoes vaporizing tremendous amounts of water and ice in the ocean, would have the power to block out the sun, and to cover the world in a 40 day torrential downpour.
@agathorsmith123grub and 150 days and another 2 months for the water to go down. considering the fact that they were in levels high enough to cover every mountain they would have died due to lack of air and sub zero temperatures (wearing nothing but clothes as thick as burlap) and animals would have died from either sickenss or temperatures out of their ecosystems etc. the bible is a load of horseshit pure and simple. like all scriptures.
@501poundmiget Scientists have found that in the past oxygen levels were significantly higher in the atmosphere, at approx 5 million years ago (the dating o rock strata is a completely different debate) either way, at this time the much higher concentration of oxygen would have allowed people to survive at much higher altitudes. A note, farther into the past oxygen levels were much lower, but this was billions of years (again, estimated, different debate) before our current era.
@tylersnoboarder even if that was true at that altitude, it doesn't change the fact that at that height, the entire world would have frozen over because of the water levels rising over the highest mountain. and salt water combining with fresh water would have destroyed 70% of agriculture and would also mean fresh water wouldn't even be around to drink. with that much pressure, the water would seep through the deepest level. the world itself can't contain that much water and stay sustainable.
There is coming a day when you will no longer be able to call sin, a sin, because it will be considered hate speech. When that happens, know that it's because sin has become so intertwined into people's identities that they can't differentiate between it and themselves. You video is compassionate, and speaks the truth as the Bible shows it, people only hate the message because they have let sin become part of who they are. As Christians we are to love all people, but hate sin.
I think the sentiment of this video can be summed up with the quote "Love the sinner and hate your own sin." I admire your balance between the necessary confrontation of sin in the life of the believer and the unconditional love we should have for all others. God bless.
I'm frankly a little tired of people using ancient, outdated texts, the authenticity of which is highly questionable, to justify their illogical biases. It's 2011, and humanity is still at the kindergarten level...
Sorry but honestly stop cherrypicking scripture, If you want to follow Leviticus next time you see your neighbor working in his yard on Saturday (or Sunday if you "believe" that is the Sabbath) put that man to death, also if your bride is not a virgin on her wedding night, kill her on her fathers doorstep, Rape some girl? no problem....just give her father 50 shekels of silver marry her (not her choice) problem solved...need some extra cash? Have a daughter? sell her into sexual slavery.
I'm a non-believer, but I would like to say thank you for providing such a rational viewpoint! Youtube is full of overly aggressive arguments from every angle of every issue. It's easy to hate on Christian videos because they're often so agitated, but yours are very compelling and very thoughtful. Thanks for giving your side some legitimacy.
Slightly off-topic: I think there is debate to be had over whether or not the words that we translated as condemning homosexual conduct mean just that.
**READ BOTTOM** And for the new testament. It talks about homosexuals NOT entering the Kingdom of Heaven. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. Talks all about Homosexual offenders, Robbers, thieves, etc. Not entering. I'm pretty sure the Grace of Jesus will save you from hell as long as you go away from your hell bound track. But you can not go back on it for Jesus will not forgive. --Well thats just my perspective.
So you think that a homosexual can never enter the kingdom of Heaven, ditto thieves etc? God is benevolance, He is all-merciful, and will forgive. I don't get how you think Jesus will not forgive? x
@MusicRehabEscapee I never said that. They can pray for forgiveness and out of the horrible way of homosexuality. But if they continue doing it after wards. Jesus will not forgive. If you commit a homosexual offense. See that you would to turn away from it and want to enter the kingdom. Pray for forgiveness and out of homosexuality.
@JD27076 oh right, sorry, I read that differently. Well, the way I think of homosexuality, if it is a sin, is like being a kleptomaniac or a compulsive liar. I think it's harder to deny your feelings, but I think trying as hard as you can is what is needed. I mean, its hard to just stop being attracted to people of the same sex. Does that make sense? :/
@MusicRehabEscapee May I quote some scripture? 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. 9-10 is talking about who will not enter the kingdom of god..Homosexuals, thieves, etc. Verse 11 is saying that they were sanctified in the name of the Lord. So, if a homosexual does not want to go to hell but still has an attraction to Men. He goes to Jesus personally and ask for his attraction ways gone. So thats what you do then.
So you think that a homosexual can never enter the kingdom of Heaven, ditto thieves etc? God is benevolence, He is all-merciful, and will forgive. I don't get how you think Jesus will not forgive? x
EVERYONE MUST SEE THIS: Now, At my church. My church clergy tells me. The old testament is not to be followed by law. The old testament is LAW. Jews go by LAW. so below, do not shave beards, JEWS do not. You, and I as a Christian, We dont go by Law, we go by Gods Grace (New Testament) The New testament is what Christians go by. And Homosexuality is said as a Mortal sin in the new testament. Homosexuality is NOT said as a sin in the old. It says You will die if you do that. Leviticus 20:23.
I'm not sure if I actually like what you're trying to do here or not. It's an interesting perspective and everything, but I am personally of the opinion that some parts of the Bible are just not applicable to life these days anymore.
Like Leviticus, it forbids eating shellfish, mixing fabrics, shaving your beard, and so forth. I think everyone will agree that these so-called "sins" are downright ridiculous. So why condemn homosexuals if it its an equally big sin, like you said in this video?
@Goten1992 I agree, not that all of the bible is out of date, but come on, it was written by some dudes in the western middle east quite a long time ago. I turn to contemplation, hope, love, and reassuring scripture to make moral judgements like these, I don't defend myself by citing specific references to get the upper hand in an argument. I just tell people what I believe.
@nicksum29: you said, "All words of all Christians are inspired. Except your, it would seem..." and "The Bible deals with people who are either prostitutes, rapers of slaves, or those who abuse young boys. You need to read a translation that serves you better." Well, read Ro. 1:24-28, KJV, NASB, and ESV all give testimony about homosexuality and what God says about it. Which translation do you prefer? Please use scripture when justifying your views.
I really agree with you and like you dude, and I think you've changed your style, but this is incredibly melodramatic :P i like the stereotypical webcam in a room thing you do now. I just thought this was kinda funny :P
So does Christianity work against human nature? If you take that homosexual person and force him to be straight, you are simply dehumanizing him. It's basically the same as forcing a Christians to be a Muslim. Would you agree with that? I doubt it.
@aveyowyns Exactly my point. How can you believe in a faith that is against simple human nature? You admitted that homosexuality may be in human nature. My point still stands, It's the same as taking a Christian and forcing them to be a Muslim.
No, it is not. If human nature is fallen, then it means it is imperfect ... and needs to be corrected. If homosexuality is a part of our fallen nature, then it needs to be corrected. No one is talking about forcing a homosexual to be heterosexual.
No. It's not forcing. People go to hell regardless of whether or not they are heterosexual: hell and heaven are not ultimatums. People who are without Jesus go to hell - and people who are with Jesus are not homosexual.
@aveyowyns Okay. Here's a example. Some dude pulls a gun to some dude head and says, "Do you like puppies or kittens? If you say kittens, I'll blow your head off" So what will the dude with the gun to his head say? Puppies of course. Christianity holds hell over your head like a man holding a gun to your head. That's why people follow religion. They're afraid of hell, and hope they can make their way into heaven. It has nothing to do with worship. In the end it is fear.
So, we're no longer talking about homosexuals then?
Christians don't hold hell over people's head .. and Christianity isn't about fear. People deconvert from Christianity and atheists CONVERT into Christianity all the time. Christians do not fear hell - nor do unbelievers.
I assume you don't believe in hell so your point is moot. One cannot fear going to hell without also knowing that there is freedom from hell, which is Christ.
@aveyowyns Yes in fact i was talking about homosexuality. You are basically saying you don't force homosexuals to be straights, but if they don't they go to hell. Which isn't really a choice, it's basically forcing.
@aveyowyns Just tossing this in, I don't believe in hell because I don't think god would condemn any of his children to such a terrible place. Not believing in hell doesn't make me less of a believer either. I think when we die, the truth becomes clearly understood, because even now mankind does not know all truths of sin or etc. but upon death we understand and accept that truth. I agree though, Religion is not about fear, it's very sad when people, countries, or governments make it that way.
Yes, not believing in hell makes you less of a believer: Jesus commanded that people share the Gospels. Why would this be necessary to spread the Gospels if 'the truth becomes clearly understood, when we die?' Jesus spoke about hell more than anyone in the Bible - so, you believe less of what Christ said and less in what Christ teaches, than an actual Christian.
If no one goes to hell, the Jesus would not have needed to die!!!

Remember, if a belief was an absolute undeniable truth, it would be called a truth, not a belief. Be true to yourself. Do not harm others, neither mentally, emotionally, financially, or physically. Live, and let live. Enjoy living your life to its fullest potential in a way that meets your highest expectations of yourself, not the expectations of others.

"they never...have sex just for pleasure" - This is an appeal to ignorance. Many gays have testified to having sex just for pleasure, especially when in multiple relationships.
"there is nothing wrong with having sex for pleasure" - I never said anything of the sort. I'm saying that sex is enjoyable BECAUSE of commitment to another person. With homosexuals, there's practically no sole commitment to the other. This is virtually the only lifestyle in homosexuals and studies show this.
"because straight people are so much more morally upright." - I don't find it acceptable behavior from EITHER heterosexuals OR homosexuals. Let's not attack strawmen here.
"Oh,wait. you probably don't believe in that either." - With all due respect, what does evolution have to do with this. Of course, sex is a part of human nature. But how the enjoyment of sex originated is irrelevant. Besides tons of Christians believe in evolution.
"Religion allows people to justify their disdain for that which they do not understand." - I would not agree with this to its fullest extent. Most of that which religious people "do not understand" is usually the position of which nonreligious people are mostly half correct at best.
"Yet, whenever they act on their sexual inclinations, they aren't marginalized, abused, etc." - Really? Because statistics show that homosexuals on average have 100 partners throughout their lifetime. They even have relationships with other people, even when in current relationships. Most homosexuals included in these studies anonymously admit to this promiscuity. If you think it's about love and commitment to just one person, you're greatly mistaken.
Good response, I still question your application of Jesus and the woman in adultery.
I'm sure you're already aware that Jewish law called for the death of anyone in adultery. This is in no way the same as a Christian judging righteously and warning another person that homosexuality is a sin.
Second issue, going further with that ideal--the woman caught in adultery was humble, crying for mercy. So the same goes with this, if a homosexual becomes humble and repents--they will be given mercy.
I understand the frustration, though there's an important question that you should bear in mind. No Christian says that having a homosexual DISPOSITION is a sin. Only the act itself is a sin. So the question I have for you is this: It is true that they did not choose to have that disposition. However, when it comes to whether or not to FULFILL that disposition with another of the same gender, it that ALSO not something that they choose or is that indeed a choice?
To the person who said that the Bible never mentions homosexuality is essentially correct. It actually uses the Greek word that translates to male sexual pervert (arsenokoiteß). Frankly homosexual sounds a bit more tame then male sexual pervert. This Greek word - arsenokoiteß - is found in 1Cor6:9 and 1Tim1:10. It is listed with other major sins in 1Cor6:9 such as being sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, thieves, drunkards, revilers, and swindlers.
@kprochas Indeed you are correct. they were referring to male prostitutes. Therewere no naturalised homosexual relations in ancient times. It is a modern phenomena - one which deserves our respect and attention.
This is hilarious. You realize that story with the adulteress is well-known to not actually be in the original version of John. It was added by scribes later. It never happened.
This video is so hypocritical after just having watch your latest video. You want atheists to address "real Christians" not just the fringe groups, and then I see something like this. This is exactly what YT atheists are calling out.
@HollowCries If you translate that hebrew passage literally, it says "lie with a man in a woman's bed" back then men and women slept in different beds. The people who translated that overlooked the significance of a woman's bed. God does not care about our sex lives, all he wants is for us to love every single person, and give every person respect. We are not supposed to condemn each other's sexual lives, that spreads hatred and disrespect.
@HollowCries - i didn't say i don't trust just that portion and it is not just about the translation. i think many things are inspired in some form or other, including 'lord of the rings'. but i do not think just because some facet of something is inspired means it is all inspired or all absolutely correct. i think many men are inspired and have been inspired, but i don't think they are correct about everything or that everyone who cowrote a book with them is absolutely correct either.
@HollowCries - the bible is not all written by people taught by Jesus, only the new testament as I understand it. to say 'the Bible says...' seems non specific. someone wrote it. someone else translated it. someone else edited it. people say a lot of things. people saying about Jesus whatever they wanted and said he said. i like some of it. i don't trust all of it especially since it says different things and people can use it however they want and do.
@HollowCries - the bible was written in the past. that we know. written with an intent for the future, okay. that applies to the end? many books are written to give instruction. their merit over time is debatable. there were many authors in the bible and to assume that all are equally true, and it is until the end seems odd in a world where there are continually spiritual/religious people. to say that a book is true because it says in that book it is true is a bit funky regardless of the book.
@HollowCries - given bible culture and all the idiosyncrasies, that could mean many things. it could mean to lie with him in some particular way. there is still plenty of debate about that scripture. but also if talking about what the bible says - remember it says 'thou shalt not kill' AND it talks about stoning people. it gives a lot of mixed messages because it was written by many people along the way, none of which was the man said to be the son of God himself.
@HollowCries - first, in a prior comment you said you just said that the bible said that, but your wording was 'it is wrong' which does not say 'the bible says' it says 'i say'.
second, i just took that from the site i pointed you to, and i appreciate the correction. also though, if one wants to talk context, there is a lot of context that the whole bible is taken out of, the context of the time, original language, etc... and again, there is what the bible says and what Jesus said - nothing.
@HollowCries - Daniel 4:10-11. In Daniel, the king “saw a tree of great height at the centre of the earth...reaching with its top to the sky and visible to the earth's farthest bounds.” If the earth were flat, a sufficiently tall tree would be visible to “the earth's farthest bounds,” but this is impossible on a spherical earth.
@HollowCries - it is sad when i hear things like 'we shouldn't treat people badly' which i agree with generally, but when it comes from those seeking to follow a man who hung out with the prostitutes and talked about love, and a book that says 'judge not lest ye be judged', one can't help but want for more than not to be treated badly.
@161angie - i think religion both supports and impedes human progress. things that were progress at one point are not the next. at one point black people on the back of the bus, was people at least on the bus. blacks counting as 3/5ths of the vote was progress, but it was not equal. the house that contains and supports at one point can easily stifle and it is wise to move to the next house or add on to the old one.
@HollowCries things like being able to see a tree from everywhere is not possible on a round earth. that is one of many things in the bible. it was written by well meaning people without telescopes and satellites and psychology and science of much note with their experience just like the books of all ancient religions, which by the way i like things in the bible and a lot of books, i just think it all needs to be taken with a big ol' grain of salt since written by men, none of whom were Jesus.
@HollowCries It wasn't really the word "compassion." Its the background information that I have from watching the video. He thinks homosexuals are living in sin, and therefore feels sorry for them. If they died today, they might go to hell. His compassion is patronizing.
@HollowCries You forgot Koine Greek, which we didn't have a valid translation for until approx 1900. So anything translated approx 1400-1500 would not be accurate. Koine Greek had a valid word for homosexual that was never used once in the original Koine Greek text. The word that was used was originally tranlated as "masterbator" and then later changed to "homosexual" around 14-1500. That tells me they were just guessing. God just wants us to love one another, and treat everyone well.
@HollowCries things it says requires it to be flat. for example talks about the earth being unshakable and not moving among other things. check out this link... it refers to several passages and their literal interpretation. you can scroll down specifically to 'shape of the earth'... try googling 'world is flat' bible' and go to the second link 'the flat earth bible'. the link wouldn't let me post for some reason.
What if a gay couple got married? Could they then be "practicing?" And by the by, *cough* they uhm... found the "gay gene" so it's sort of a genetic "since birth" thing.
Well see, the only thing wrong with this video is that it gets its morals from the same book that condones slavery and Jesus didn't mention that either. I don't know why you're picking little pieces out of Leviticus to follow and disregarding the rest. Its not like you follow kosher law. I mean, if the bible told you to throw out all your collared shirts (which it does), would you do it?
@philnoll the case for a biblical view for sexuality is not exclusively made in Leviticus, though detractors would like it to be. The Bible is coherent throughout affirming the view of sex preserved for men and women in marriage and opposing the rest. It is important to look through the Bible to see the the trajectory of God's revelation. Much changes along the way through prophets, Jesus (son of God) and later disciples, but the ethic of sexuality is consistent.
@JesusIsDangerous Well...Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, but rather said that he didn't come to abolish the law. If that case is going to be used, then we have to acknowledge the rest of the law - all the Orthodox Jewish laws. But you may be right. The bible is also consistent in its views about women being an inferior class.
That's why I'm hesitant to quote the bible at all...It doesn't reflect modern standards of morality. It doesn't even come close.
@philnoll I'm glad you appear open to honest debate.
"The Law" was somewhat simple when given to the Jews (and that is when they became a people). They became much more complicated over time as folks tried to figure out how what it looked like to follow those laws and in the process some things went crazy. Jesus specifically confronts a legalistic view of Sabbath without disagreeing with Sabbath overall.
The ethical trajectory of the Bible (including Jesus) is toward full inclusion of women.
@JesusIsDangerous If the law has changed so much, why is homosexuality still the big one that people point to?
I never hear anything about getting tattoos. We practice the sabbath on the wrong day, and celebrate pagan holidays. There just seems to be so much hypocrisy when they make a big deal out of being gay.
People who are homosexual or believe it's not a sin are of course going to be defensive to this video. No surprise on that one. But what you said is the truth. Very well put. It's not worse to be homosexual than alcoholic or lier but it is still a sin and God still can forgive. If you have gay thoughts but don't act on them then your not a homosexual because you're not having sex.
@747r3c0rds - anyone who is judged inferior tends to be defensive. the untouchables in india are not big fans of the caste system and they left and got into buddhism in many cases as a result because there was no caste system. Christians are defensive about Muslims who may judge them as lesser and atheists who judge them as lesser. anyone and everyone who is judged as a lesser person even if said in a way that one is compassionate about them being lesser, is likely to be defensive.
What does the bible say about (insert anything)? The correct answer to this is "It doesn't fucking matter since the bible is simply a book written by scientifically illiterate wandering Palestinian goat herders from the iron age and has no baring on today's society". If you idiots actually believe the bible matters, you're an idiot.
*facepalm* you assert that homosexuality is a sin. is heterosexuality? You don't address the question of whether or not it is wrong. Yet, in your bible it says that "[God] made man in his own image." there fore man must be perfect. crazy? yes, but so is your bible. think of someone you love on a romantic level, wife, girlfriend, inanimate object, what have you. instead of place so much on semantics try putting yourself in a godlike mindset and be a better person, not a better christian
@yojoe1221 I'm not sure I follow the logic here, but to answer the only non-rhetorical question. No, heterosexuality within the bonds of marriage is not sinful, it is actually glorifying to God.
@JesusIsDangerous - the issue with the common Christian view that all homosexuality is equal or worse than every ounce of infidelity of heterosexuality is that it doesn't offer gay people any healthy options within Christianity so then they leave and find other religions and then Christians are angry as their religious values decay more. Frankly Christians could offer themselves and gay people better options by offering them monogamy within their religion.
@yojoe1221 - one of the challenges about judging all homosexuality as a sin, is that it limits gay people from looking at the merit of the rest of the bible in so many cases and it develops further interest in outside religions and atheism. lutheranism grew out of a group of people unhappy with catholicism. sadly so many christians are quick to judge and quick to be frustrated with people looking to other religions for the love and understanding that they were not offered by christianity.
@kirathekingkiller69 - Yes, sadly it is refreshing every time a Christian acknowledges compassion in their heart for anyone gay. It is all the more refreshing when love is acknowledged. Bizarre for a religion that was led by a man who said 'Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these... ye have done it unto me.' also bizarre for a man who said that the highest law was love for people to focus on the lower laws.
By logic Jesus was a Jew there for He Did't Believe he has the son of God According to the Bible people who Don't accept Christ are going to hell There for Christ sinned. Paradox of irony. Pride is not Atheism its truth The universe Doesn't need a Creator Christ Did't Exist my Friend.
In answer to DJilneige's response to my comment about fundamentalist Christianity: the comments pertain to the view of Homosexuality being viewed 'as an abomination', (Leviticus) and therefore inherently wrong.
jeez, you bible beating nuts are the worst. the biggest pack of closed minded, judgmental hypocrites on the planet. not one of you have never sinned. get off your high horse & get a life. i think this is the first video i have ever seen with more thumbs down than thumbs up. live, let live & move on. find something productive to do with your time besides standing in front of a camera holding a bible spouting a bunch of fiction. smdh.
@unyversalone - i respect the sincere soul searching of the poster. he seems to be well intended which is more than one can say for many a 'bible basher'. he clearly is working to reach out in the best way he knows how. yes i have my issues with the post, but he seems to be working to raise compassion in the world vs. hate which is more than one can say for many. like politicians, probably many of the biggest haters have the most internalized homophobia and are gay themselves.
1 Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 2 Saul took him that day, and would not let him go home to his father’s house anymore. 3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. 4 And Jonathan took off the robe that was on him and gave it to David, with his armor, even to his sword and his bow and his belt .1 Samuel 18
The law of love superscedes all other laws, homosexuality is not a sin, OT(and a lot of the NT) is context it maybe doctrine in some churches but not what being a christian is, in my opinion anyways-
Galatians 5:14,Mark 12:28-31,Luke 10:25-28,Deutronomy 6:4-5, Leviticus 19:18, Luke 10:29-37, Matthew 25:31-46, Romans 13:8-10, James 2:8, Proverbs 10:12, Peter 4:8.
@moviemaster2010 - heterosexuals have a lot of anal and oral sex. animals lick their own genitals and homosexuality is across animal species of almost every sort. there are lizards that are all female. queen bees run a beehive. seahorse males get pregnant. life is far more interesting and complex. everything that is different is not ugly. everything that is foreign is not unnatural. some people are born with a penis and a vagina - hermaphrodites. some people like food others cannot stand.
I as a gay Christian understand the Historical context of when the bible was written. You have to put the bible in a historical context if you dont then you must believe every thing the bible says. I disagree with you that you cant be Gay and not be walking with Christ. We are all made in Gods image and that includes his Gay children.
@depfox - yes given that the bible was written in another time and another place and then edited and translated by people in another time and another place, it is all out of context and in a court of law it is all 'hearsay'. interesting how close that word is to 'heresy'

(cont.)
radicaldreamer927 3 weeks ago
I mean, how can you honestly believe that just because Paul happened to get his letters to the Romans and Corinthians in the Bible, he's automatically flawless in his interpretation of God's word? He isn't God, nor is he the Messiah, so his teachings were bound to have some flaws in them! He's just another regular guy, like you, the guy in the video whose name I don't know. That means that while I may agree with him on some things, I disagree with others. I DISagree with his sexist views! (cont.

So, were you born homophobic?
soooooomething 5 months ago
@soooooomething No you can be gay, it doesnt manifest until later in life. Its like cancer, you may have the cancer cells in your body but they dont activate until later in life. Now im not saying homosexuality is cancerous, im saying it acts like cancer, it doesnt hurt you at all though. And if you call me homophobic, youre retarded seeing as im gay myself and love that fact.

HappyIsFleeting 5 months ago
@HappyIsFleeting
1. Cancer actually doesn't exist when you are born. It's due to cell mutation/malfunction of the cell regulators
2. Incorrect Analogy: Cancer =/= Homosexuality. Cancer is physical disease, Homosexuality is mental attribute.
3. I was calling the creator of this video, not you, homophobic
4. you are the first gay person, out of around 30 I know, who said he was born gay. Either you're lying or you're a minority.
soooooomething 5 months ago
@soooooomething I was meaning that cancer doesnt start to kill you imediatly, it has a delayed rxn. Same thing with Homosexuality, it does not manifest, visibly, until later in life. Same thing as PTSD, a mental instability, does not immediatly form, it takes time. I know many gay people that say they were born gay, its never obvious until that person is at least into their teenage years. Tbh I dont know how you couldve misinterpreted that.
HappyIsFleeting 5 months ago
@HappyIsFleeting People aren't born with PTSD. It's a person's physical experiences that determine if they get PTSD, like their experiences in the army.
Yes, many gay people do have life changing experiences that don't change their sexuality until many years later.
You just proved my point.
soooooomething 5 months ago
How do you not see that what im refrencing are not born illnesses? I said that PTSD does not form imediatly, however, I did not say you are born with it. Homosexuality is developed in the womb, it then manifests later in life. You can be born homosexual, there isnt an event that could change a person's orientation, no ifs about it.
HappyIsFleeting 5 months ago
@soooooomething You can only discover your sexuality, not change it. Events change our personaliy and actions, not our primal needs and wants.Homosexuality is a primal need/want, somthing like that cannot be changed
HappyIsFleeting 5 months ago
@soooooomething Make that two out of thirty. Also the fact that I was born gay makes me think you are lying. Of course you could always name the other 29 gays you know that say they chose to be gay.

TagRation 5 months ago

@Flingurt - I respect your opinion, but obviously do not agree with you. God bless!

@sandvikboy94 Just a note, current biblical scientists believe that the causation of a global flood would be enormous hypercanes, hurricanes on a phenomenal scale.

A note, farther into the past oxygen levels were much lower, but this was billions of years (again, estimated, different debate) before our current era.
tylersnoboarder 1 month ago
@tylersnoboarder even if that was true at that altitude, it doesn't change the fact that at that height, the entire world would have frozen over because of the water levels rising over the highest mountain. and salt water combining with fresh water would have destroyed 70% of agriculture and would also mean fresh water wouldn't even be around to drink. with that much pressure, the water would seep through the deepest level. the world itself can't contain that much water and stay sustainable.

When that happens, know that it's because sin has become so intertwined into people's identities that they can't differentiate between it and themselves. You video is compassionate, and speaks the truth as the Bible shows it, people only hate the message because they have let sin become part of who they are.
JD27076 9 months ago
@JD27076 oh right, sorry, I read that differently. Well, the way I think of homosexuality, if it is a sin, is like being a kleptomaniac or a compulsive liar. I think it's harder to deny your feelings, but I think trying as hard as you can is what is needed. I mean, its hard to just stop being attracted to people of the same sex. Does that make sense? :/
MusicRehabEscapee 9 months ago
@MusicRehabEscapee May I quote some scripture? 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. 9-10 is talking about who will not enter the kingdom of god..Homosexuals, thieves, etc. Verse 11 is saying that they were sanctified in the name of the Lord. So, if a homosexual does not want to go to hell but still has an attraction to Men. He goes to Jesus personally and ask for his attraction ways gone. So thats what you do then.

@JD27076 Oh, okay, that makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out :)

JD27076 10 months ago
I'm not sure if I actually like what you're trying to do here or not. It's an interesting perspective and everything, but I am personally of the opinion that some parts of the Bible are just not applicable to life these days anymore.
Like Leviticus, it forbids eating shellfish, mixing fabrics, shaving your beard, and so forth. I think everyone will agree that these so-called "sins" are downright ridiculous. So why condemn homosexuals if it its an equally big sin, like you said in this video?
Goten1992 10 months ago

So does Christianity work against human nature? If you take that homosexual person and force him to be straight, you are simply dehumanizing him. It's basically the same as forcing a Christians to be a Muslim. Would you agree with that? I doubt it.
GeistIV 10 months ago
@GeistIV
No. You don't know what dehumanize means. Dehumanize means to make someone lesser than human or not human at all.
Homosexuality might be a part of human nature - but human nature is a fallen nature, so...
aveyowyns 10 months ago
@aveyowyns Exactly my point. How can you believe in a faith that is against simple human nature? You admitted that homosexuality may be in human nature. My point still stands, It's the same as taking a Christian and forcing them to be a Muslim.
GeistIV 10 months ago
@GeistIV
No, it is not. If human nature is fallen, then it means it is imperfect ... and needs to be corrected. If homosexuality is a part of our fallen nature, then it needs to be corrected. No one is talking about forcing a homosexual to be heterosexual.
aveyowyns 10 months ago
@aveyowyns Yeah it kinda is forcing. If you don't be heterosexual you go to hell right?
GeistIV 10 months ago
@GeistIV
No. It's not forcing. People go to hell regardless of whether or not they are heterosexual: hell and heaven are not ultimatums. People who are without Jesus go to hell - and people who are with Jesus are not homosexual.
aveyowyns 10 months ago
@aveyowyns Okay. Here's a example. Some dude pulls a gun to some dude head and says, "Do you like puppies or kittens? If you say kittens, I'll blow your head off" So what will the dude with the gun to his head say? Puppies of course. Christianity holds hell over your head like a man holding a gun to your head. That's why people follow religion. They're afraid of hell, and hope they can make their way into heaven. It has nothing to do with worship. In the end it is fear.
GeistIV 10 months ago
@GeistIV
One cannot fear going to hell without also knowing that there is freedom from hell, which is Christ.
aveyowyns 10 months ago
@aveyowyns Yes in fact i was talking about homosexuality. You are basically saying you don't force homosexuals to be straights, but if they don't they go to hell. Which isn't really a choice, it's basically forcing.
GeistIV 10 months ago
@aveyowyns Just tossing this in, I don't believe in hell because I don't think god would condemn any of his children to such a terrible place. Not believing in hell doesn't make me less of a believer either. I think when we die, the truth becomes clearly understood, because even now mankind does not know all truths of sin or etc. but upon death we understand and accept that truth. I agree though, Religion is not about fear, it's very sad when people, countries, or governments make it that way.
maeowelvsulotz 10 months ago
@maeowelvsulotz

BassP86 11 months ago
@161angie

@161angie
"Religion allows people to justify their disdain for that which they do not understand." - I would not agree with this to its fullest extent. Most of that which religious people "do not understand" is usually the position of which nonreligious people are mostly half correct at best.
BassP86 11 months ago
@161angie
BassP86 11 months ago
Good response, I still question your application of Jesus and the woman in adultery.
I'm sure you're already aware that Jewish law called for the death of anyone in adultery. This is in no way the same as a Christian judging righteously and warning another person that homosexuality is a sin.
Second issue, going further with that ideal--the woman caught in adultery was humble, crying for mercy. So the same goes with this, if a homosexual becomes humble and repents--they will be given mercy.
droptozro 11 months ago
@161angie
BassP86 11 months ago

To the person who said that the Bible never mentions homosexuality is essentially correct. It actually uses the Greek word that translates to male sexual pervert (arsenokoiteß). Frankly homosexual sounds a bit more tame then male sexual pervert. This Greek word - arsenokoiteß - is found in 1Cor6:9 and 1Tim1:10. It is listed with other major sins in 1Cor6:9 such as being sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, thieves, drunkards, revilers, and swindlers.
kprochas 11 months ago

PainefulMass 1 year ago
@HollowCries If you translate that hebrew passage literally, it says "lie with a man in a woman's bed" back then men and women slept in different beds. The people who translated that overlooked the significance of a woman's bed. God does not care about our sex lives, all he wants is for us to love every single person, and give every person respect. We are not supposed to condemn each other's sexual lives, that spreads hatred and disrespect.
watertower12 1 year ago
@HollowCries - i didn't say i don't trust just that portion and it is not just about the translation. i think many things are inspired in some form or other, including 'lord of the rings'. but i do not think just because some facet of something is inspired means it is all inspired or all absolutely correct. i think many men are inspired and have been inspired, but i don't think they are correct about everything or that everyone who cowrote a book with them is absolutely correct either.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries - the bible is not all written by people taught by Jesus, only the new testament as I understand it. to say 'the Bible says...' seems non specific. someone wrote it. someone else translated it. someone else edited it. people say a lot of things. people saying about Jesus whatever they wanted and said he said. i like some of it. i don't trust all of it especially since it says different things and people can use it however they want and do.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries - the bible was written in the past. that we know. written with an intent for the future, okay. that applies to the end? many books are written to give instruction. their merit over time is debatable. there were many authors in the bible and to assume that all are equally true, and it is until the end seems odd in a world where there are continually spiritual/religious people. to say that a book is true because it says in that book it is true is a bit funky regardless of the book.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries - given bible culture and all the idiosyncrasies, that could mean many things. it could mean to lie with him in some particular way. there is still plenty of debate about that scripture. but also if talking about what the bible says - remember it says 'thou shalt not kill' AND it talks about stoning people. it gives a lot of mixed messages because it was written by many people along the way, none of which was the man said to be the son of God himself.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries - first, in a prior comment you said you just said that the bible said that, but your wording was 'it is wrong' which does not say 'the bible says' it says 'i say'.
second, i just took that from the site i pointed you to, and i appreciate the correction. also though, if one wants to talk context, there is a lot of context that the whole bible is taken out of, the context of the time, original language, etc... and again, there is what the bible says and what Jesus said - nothing.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries - Daniel 4:10-11. In Daniel, the king “saw a tree of great height at the centre of the earth...reaching with its top to the sky and visible to the earth's farthest bounds.” If the earth were flat, a sufficiently tall tree would be visible to “the earth's farthest bounds,” but this is impossible on a spherical earth.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries - to judge it by saying it is wrong, does that mean that you are judging as the bible says judge not lest ye be judged?
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries - it is sad when i hear things like 'we shouldn't treat people badly' which i agree with generally, but when it comes from those seeking to follow a man who hung out with the prostitutes and talked about love, and a book that says 'judge not lest ye be judged', one can't help but want for more than not to be treated badly.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@161angie - i think religion both supports and impedes human progress. things that were progress at one point are not the next. at one point black people on the back of the bus, was people at least on the bus. blacks counting as 3/5ths of the vote was progress, but it was not equal. the house that contains and supports at one point can easily stifle and it is wise to move to the next house or add on to the old one.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries things like being able to see a tree from everywhere is not possible on a round earth. that is one of many things in the bible. it was written by well meaning people without telescopes and satellites and psychology and science of much note with their experience just like the books of all ancient religions, which by the way i like things in the bible and a lot of books, i just think it all needs to be taken with a big ol' grain of salt since written by men, none of whom were Jesus.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@HollowCries It wasn't really the word "compassion." Its the background information that I have from watching the video. He thinks homosexuals are living in sin, and therefore feels sorry for them. If they died today, they might go to hell. His compassion is patronizing.
philnoll 1 year ago
@HollowCries You forgot Koine Greek, which we didn't have a valid translation for until approx 1900. So anything translated approx 1400-1500 would not be accurate. Koine Greek had a valid word for homosexual that was never used once in the original Koine Greek text. The word that was used was originally tranlated as "masterbator" and then later changed to "homosexual" around 14-1500. That tells me they were just guessing. God just wants us to love one another, and treat everyone well.
watertower12 1 year ago
@HollowCries things it says requires it to be flat. for example talks about the earth being unshakable and not moving among other things. check out this link... it refers to several passages and their literal interpretation. you can scroll down specifically to 'shape of the earth'... try googling 'world is flat' bible' and go to the second link 'the flat earth bible'. the link wouldn't let me post for some reason.

cyanidendsugar 1 year ago
Well see, the only thing wrong with this video is that it gets its morals from the same book that condones slavery and Jesus didn't mention that either. I don't know why you're picking little pieces out of Leviticus to follow and disregarding the rest. Its not like you follow kosher law. I mean, if the bible told you to throw out all your collared shirts (which it does), would you do it?
philnoll 1 year ago
@philnoll the case for a biblical view for sexuality is not exclusively made in Leviticus, though detractors would like it to be. The Bible is coherent throughout affirming the view of sex preserved for men and women in marriage and opposing the rest. It is important to look through the Bible to see the the trajectory of God's revelation. Much changes along the way through prophets, Jesus (son of God) and later disciples, but the ethic of sexuality is consistent.
JesusIsDangerous 1 year ago
@JesusIsDangerous Well...Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, but rather said that he didn't come to abolish the law. If that case is going to be used, then we have to acknowledge the rest of the law - all the Orthodox Jewish laws. But you may be right. The bible is also consistent in its views about women being an inferior class.
That's why I'm hesitant to quote the bible at all...It doesn't reflect modern standards of morality. It doesn't even come close.
philnoll 1 year ago
@philnoll I'm glad you appear open to honest debate.
"The Law" was somewhat simple when given to the Jews (and that is when they became a people). They became much more complicated over time as folks tried to figure out how what it looked like to follow those laws and in the process some things went crazy. Jesus specifically confronts a legalistic view of Sabbath without disagreeing with Sabbath overall.
The ethical trajectory of the Bible (including Jesus) is toward full inclusion of women.
JesusIsDangerous 1 year ago
@JesusIsDangerous If the law has changed so much, why is homosexuality still the big one that people point to?
I never hear anything about getting tattoos. We practice the sabbath on the wrong day, and celebrate pagan holidays. There just seems to be so much hypocrisy when they make a big deal out of being gay.
philnoll 1 year ago
People who are homosexual or believe it's not a sin are of course going to be defensive to this video. No surprise on that one. But what you said is the truth. Very well put. It's not worse to be homosexual than alcoholic or lier but it is still a sin and God still can forgive. If you have gay thoughts but don't act on them then your not a homosexual because you're not having sex.
747r3c0rds 1 year ago
@747r3c0rds not really a sin to be an alcoholic is it?
philnoll 1 year ago
@747r3c0rds - anyone who is judged inferior tends to be defensive. the untouchables in india are not big fans of the caste system and they left and got into buddhism in many cases as a result because there was no caste system. Christians are defensive about Muslims who may judge them as lesser and atheists who judge them as lesser. anyone and everyone who is judged as a lesser person even if said in a way that one is compassionate about them being lesser, is likely to be defensive.

Yet, in your bible it says that "[God] made man in his own image." there fore man must be perfect. crazy? yes, but so is your bible. think of someone you love on a romantic level, wife, girlfriend, inanimate object, what have you. instead of place so much on semantics try putting yourself in a godlike mindset and be a better person, not a better christian
yojoe1221 1 year ago
@yojoe1221 I'm not sure I follow the logic here, but to answer the only non-rhetorical question. No, heterosexuality within the bonds of marriage is not sinful, it is actually glorifying to God.
JesusIsDangerous 1 year ago
@JesusIsDangerous - the issue with the common Christian view that all homosexuality is equal or worse than every ounce of infidelity of heterosexuality is that it doesn't offer gay people any healthy options within Christianity so then they leave and find other religions and then Christians are angry as their religious values decay more. Frankly Christians could offer themselves and gay people better options by offering them monogamy within their religion.
soulfuljourney 1 year ago
@yojoe1221 - one of the challenges about judging all homosexuality as a sin, is that it limits gay people from looking at the merit of the rest of the bible in so many cases and it develops further interest in outside religions and atheism. lutheranism grew out of a group of people unhappy with catholicism. sadly so many christians are quick to judge and quick to be frustrated with people looking to other religions for the love and understanding that they were not offered by christianity.

Bizarre for a religion that was led by a man who said 'Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these... ye have done it unto me.' also bizarre for a man who said that the highest law was love for people to focus on the lower laws.
