Its big because if you can see this is Sitka, on Alaska so its really different angle, thus making the sun look bigger.

thus im not sure any nvidia 8 series can run DX10. I myself got ati radeon HD5450 1GB DDR3 and i cant barely run this game with decend 10 FPS. (yeah i lack alot of RAM and good processor. Got ddr 2GB ram and intel core 2 duo, which is a sad joke.)

That asshole telling you to go 65 knots over water is stupid. I would never be that slow and low so far out. What if the engine quits? (Assuming this is reality.) It takes years to get to the runway. Do a forward slip to bleed off the speed if you come in too hot.

Not that big but it is definetely bigger than in midday, or at least its image. That happens because of light being refracted by the atmosphere.

Yes. My joystick required constant rudder to keep the plane straight. Its hard to keep a constant twist on the joystick when you need fine pitch and roll movements at the same time.

Sorted it since then with a Saitek yoke and peddles :) I've not recorded any videos since I bought them but it makes a big difference.

I'm not sure if you've tried a direct comparison, but the video hardly does it justice. Buildings on the ground, as they come into view, will gleam with sunlight in DX10 mode, and the scenery in general gets an extra layer of realism. Cockpit reflections, while buggy, look a whole lot better too. Finally, i think there's actually a slight performance boost in dx10 mode on my pc.

kanal3. It has a lot to do with what your graphic card but your screen resolution plays a great roll in it as well. if you dont have a screen resololution that is at least 1920 x 1080 your not going to get the type of clarity and realism you see in this video.

This game isn't biased for graphics. It's meant for realism, hence the name Flight Simulator. It is almost as demanding as Crysis, because of the amount of objects rendered. But in Crysis if you put antialiasing all the way up...runs like slideshow lol

Yes, a little I think but you will likely end up eating that away because having the eye candy is so good.

It seems as though you don't get a huge FPS improvement but can fit more on the screen while keeping the same FPS. Not 100% sure as I didn't really look but SP2 and DX10 has given me a playable sim with the settings up high, which is a huge difference over the original release of FSX.

I think someone else on You Tube looked into the FPS differences. I don't think it was huge.

The Service Pack 2 download? It depends what you will need it for.

It contains lots of bug fixes and some multiplayer fixes as well as the DX 10 stuff so the criticality of the update probably depends on your use of FSX I think.

I'd say its essential if you want DX10 (and don't have acceleration expansion pack) or use FSX in multiplayer mode but maybe less essential (but still a wise update) if you fly single player and use DX9.

move up if the are all white move down if they are all red

Actually if they show all white it means that you are above the glideslope and need to get lower. All red means that you are below.
