  • IBlueFellow sent me here :)

  • I can never remember, who did it first? Bowie or Mott The Hoople? Both are incredible.

  • @Jormungandor Mott did it first but Bowie wrote it for them

  • @thekillers1stfan And this is why it's such a damn awesome song. Thanks man!

  • Hardcore Bowie fan! I saw him in the diamond Dogs tour in L.A. in 1974.

  • Do you eat fleas and swive in trees?

  • Ian Hunter with Mick Ronson on the Live 'Welcome to the Club' - best version. Hunter undeniably the most under appreciated talent out there. His first four, and last three albums are his best.

  • This is great, love those saxophones! It sounds like a very modern version - could it be a Toy out-take?

  • still the sexiest man alive... love you .xxxxxxxxxxx

  • (Y)

  • Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden also did a cover of this, on his first solo album, Tattooed Millionaire. That's also a great version.

  • Bowie may be in his 60's but everyone who knows him can tell -- He's still a Young Dude!

  • such a great song. i love it when ian hunter sing it, but naturalle bowie is better, hehehe

  • sexiest man alive, when asked about his sexuality he said "i'm a trisexual, cause ill try anything once".

  • Funky littlee boat race = face in "Cockney (London) rhyming slang

  • The chorus lyrics are:

    All the young dudes

    Carry the news

    Boogaloo dudes

    Carry the news...

Absolutely nothing to do with Google.

Great song from a real talent !!

  • @lennox2 i swear they said it ''All the young dudes, carry the nUKES.....''' hahah guess I was wrong :)

  • I love this song, with its playful lyrics and Bowie's great voice.

btw, does anyone know from where that photo in the video is? I've always seen it being used but I never know its source.

  • amazing photo!!!

  • Diz iz like the kinda sik tunez i write

  • stand up comedy!! beatle- esque

  • I don't care if he gave away success/fame/profits. I'm glad just having a version of him singing it so fine as he does

  • i heard and like ozzy osbournes version and loved it thinking it must have been the original because id never been able to put an artist to it before, i think i just found my original hero of this song!

  • Haha i totally got the lyrics wrong." All the young dudes. carry the news. google those dudes and carrys them views" x)

  • @Scholick Lol, I don't think google was around when this song was written.

  • a live version of this appeared on "David Live" album from 1974. I did not know he had recorded it in a studio, just knew the Mott version. Great anthem from that era.

  • i love this song.......but i love bruce dickinsons one the most

  • Bowie's version has more of a mantra quality, how it carries on at the end, that gives it more weight. both versions are fun to listen to, but bowie gets the meaning across.

  • one of his best songs!

  • mott the hoople's version is best

  • Always like this better than Mott's version.

  • From the versions I know, I like Bruce Dickinson's one the most...

  • What album is this song from?

  • @MorningShot4 ziggy Stardust

  • @RiseOfAnarchy34 Actually I think it was Aladdin Sane but it came out as a bonus extra song with the album.

  • no cover can beat it!!! Bowie - is Mozart of 21 century!!!

  • I remember reading in a rolling stones magazine that this song has an apocalyptic vibe to it, still looking for it

  • grande david bowie eres unico

  • mott's version is way better in my opinion

  • This is my tune. Why hasn't David Bowie been awarded the obe?

  • bowie write this for a then struggling band

mott the hoople he also produced the album

  • @andymouse123 yea he helped Mott out, but later as they were not "very grateful" he took the song back

  • how is this similar to 21 guns by greenday?

  • @solangesand I wanted to kno the same thing!!! I dont see it.

  • Great song

  • i think i like his version better than mott the hoople :/

  • Would make sense, since Bowie actually wrote it.

  • I like the Mott the Hoople version too! Great song!

  • how about ozzy's version

  • Not so keen on that

  • @bobbyt912 Ozzy's cover is the best version of this song ;)

  • what are you talking about, bowies voice is great

  • two songs by bowie i love this one and hero's

  • Young dudes: copulate ,fornicate all wild salmon you can eat...drink .... then start again!

    MAN OF THE EARTH!

  • This was written by bowie but covered by mott the hoople.

  • the beginning of this song makes me cry so muchh and i dont know why

  • bowie saw mott, liked them and heard they were breaking up,so handed them dudes, which he wrote...the rest is history.

  • mott the hoople! it was like their only hit i think..unless david bowie did also recorded a version himself..not sure...funny how these things go, right? they were a straight band and their only claim to fame and glory was a gay song..i don't mean it in a bad way at all, its just ironic =]

  • This is not a gay song. Why do you think that? It's quite the opposite. Basically get drunk and shag (women). It;'s a rejection of the hippie dream that went before it.

  • I seem to remeber a guitar intro like this in another song... any help?

  • hahahaha

  • Mott the Hoople did thing song, whom david origionally wrote the song for (kinda). Maybe that's what your thinking of?

  • Nah, a friend found it.

Ballad of Maxwell Demon, from the film Velvet Goldmine. Based-ish on David Bowie.

Thanks anyway. Not that I'd heard of Matt the Hoople before I heard this song.

  • Maybe 21 Guns by Green day???

  • Yeah, I heard this on Clueless and then my sister kept listening to 21 Guns and it was similar.

  • ZIGGY STARDUST?

  • yes

  • May have been, All The Young Dudes

    by mott the hoople.

  • sounds like the beatles - hey jude-ish dosent it?

  • I must diagree , both bowies, and motts versoins are both good. its just music, and for me the lyrics sum me up as a young man in the 1950;s,

    appreciate your comment, YJ

  • @yortonjunction mine was the 70's,,,, know what ya mean. ;)

  • even though Bowie wrote it. I prefer the Mott version myself, but Bowie wrote the song for Mott to keep them from breaking up.

  • i love this song and i love david bowie. ;)

  • great song!

  • Bowie mentioned in a interveiw when he gave Mott the Hoople this song he was giving away a hit....he was right....

  • @TVC17 ya but both mott's and david's versions are good
