Some with this addtive, others without, some with this detergent and others without. Refineries have to reset up each and every time they make a batch of gas for the different areas and regions. Making gas cost more. But if they had just one standard, gas would cost less than a $1.

@papavalium plain wrong. in 2001 when bush took office it was 4.7%, in 2008 when he left it was 6.7%. Before bush USA has +236.2 billion surplus , when he left there was -$1.2 trillion.
So to be fair, when obama took office there were 7% and companies were still cutting more due to bush policy. As of today the unemployment rate is 9.6%. So 9.6-7% = 2.6% increase (some continue effect from bush , some are due to new policy)

159 thousand government employees were let go. (I thought you guys would like that). But, the private sector actually gained about 60 thousand jobs.
So lets review:
When Obama took office..we were losing 700,000 jobs a month.
Now we are gaining about 60-70 thousand. (Not good enough) But certainly better than the mess we were in, at the end of the Bush era.

In Jan 09, Bush last month in office, the rate was 7.8%. We were losing 600-700 thousand jobs/month. The national debt had doubled. By March (before Obama policies were in effect,) the rate was 8.1%. Previous high was 9.8% in 83, the 2nd yr.of Reagan's 1st term.

The only part the federal government helps with is by busting up their government funded pension plans and that's it. As for the story about the $75 fee. You are covered by a local city fire dept if you pay the city property tax. If not you have to pay a county fee. Growup kid.

@hatefailure When you go to the gas station you only see 3 grades of gas. But due to the EPA, they have setup different areas and regions at how gas is to be made. Some with this addtive, others without, some with this detergent and others without. Refineries have to reset up each and every time they make a batch of gas for the different areas and regions. Making gas cost more. But if they had just one standard, gas would cost less than a $1.
