  • This is a great moveE!

  • wtf

  • Maureen O'Hara was not the woman for Tyrone. She is a John Wayne leading lady. She has not the class for Tyrone Power.

  • @farranspointon your right she in way better class.. She was in the same class as Tyrone Powers.. maybe even more so

  • I love how he just drops her, so funny :)

  • I just read the Black Swan and this has nothing to do with that book. At least in Captain Blood they stuck to the story. I'll toast to lovely Maureen, but Powers is

not real Rogue enough for me...he seems like he's trying to hard.On the other

hand Flynn is Peter Blood. They should do a remake of this movie like the book.

The dialogue and chemistry in the book is more to paRR.

  • Great scene

  • This is not your usual romantic early pirate movie. Tyrone and Maureen pretty much duke it out to the finale. The clinch at the end is worth waiting for. Not politically correct, it's the first pirate film in full Technicolor. I love it when Tyrone Power throws his sword into the ceiling (as he did in The Mark of Zorro).

  • is this the begining?

  • oh my, i would not have fought him when he wanted to kiss her! he is the best looking in this movie! I watched a commentary with maureen o'hara and she said during the scene when he tried to kiss her his mustache came off and stuck to her! haha funny

  • @ClassicsWEREandARE Where did you see that commentary, I'd love to see it!

  • @StellianAriolus the commentary was actually on the dvd! =P it was just so neat to listen to all the stories she talked about...about tyrone and her and the guy who played henry morgan! get the dvd and the commentary should be on there! enjoy! =P

  • What a disgusting creep this man. She should have kneed him. Or shot him when she had the chance. The way he dropped her was not funny to me, how can they advertise this movie as a love story with a man who beats and hurts a woman like that? It made me want to throw up. Shows how the standards were rougher in the 1940'ies, women were more often physically abused in the homes then too. That kind of thing just turns me off so much that I can't watch the movie.

  • @ZolotayaKoshka On the other hand, women had more gusto and were more physically "abusive" back then as well.- that's why I prefer old-school actresses.

  • There IS no other hand. A smack from the average female palm will not even make a guy turn his head. But one blow from a male hand can send a girl across the room. THAT is why men should never strike women. Can easily break their necks or kill them as they are more fragile physically. Facts. Almost every bone in the male body is twice what a woman's is, as well as muscle tones. In the past women were treated like servants....less than human. They were NOT 'physically abusive' as you say.

  • @LoveMokes You`ve never drank in the bar where I drink. We dont hit the women because they would flattern us!

  • @ZolotayaKoshka I agree....!!!!! I couldn't believe that!!! This is not romantic. This is trash.

  • Where can i see the whole movie ?

  • it is available on amazon...good movie to invest in!

  • that was so funny. i love jamie boy

  • I love this film... Jamie boy, jamie boy, jamie boy.. Well?

  • Goes to show you what a great actress Maureen O'Hara was: I really believed she found him repulsive! That must have taken some acting, all the ladies loved Tyrone Power.

  • i actually watched a commentary with Maureen O'Hara and she said that she and Tyrone were great friends....she said that being irish herself, she looked for other irish people in hollywood and that she had met him and was friends with him before this movie....but i agree she is a great actress

  • that was funny when he just dropped her off his shoulder Tyrone power is sooooo yummy but thats just me

  • My mother was good friends with Laird Cregar. So sad he died so young (28).

  • me to but Tyrone Power is wayyyy better

  • God, this movie was so daring for it's time.

    -Pharaoh

  • Tyrone Powers kind of reminds me of George Clooney.

    -Pharaoh
