i just released one few minutes ago...he was in the middle of a busy road...ilet him go in the direction he was headed but it was pretty hot.and i hope he knows where hes going.best of luck little Yertle
ya thats because its a melanistic painted turtle. melanistic means an increased amount of black or nearly black pigmentation. all species of turtles get it sometimes.
