  • a rare gem, indeed...

    ...from taiwan

  • lol.......... nice one beautiful.

  • Absolutely WONDERFUL

  • u got it absolutely wrong baloch, the song u mentioned wasn't her first song. it was her first big hit, which brought her to horizons of playback singing from where she never had to look back

  • i think lata first play back was aea ga aana wala film mehal 1948 musix by khemchand parkash

  • Lata's first song (dil mera toda)on celluloid was on the movie "Majboor" and composed by Syed Gulam Hyder who moved to Pakistan later. "Mahal" composed by Khemchand Prakash came much later. For Lata's first break the full credit goes to Gulam Hyder and Gulam Hyder only. Before she had acted in movies made by Master Vinayak, her first song was by Vasant Jogelkar in 1946 in the movie "Aap ki seva". After the death of Master Vinayak her life was at cross roads and had she not met Hyder !!!

  • lol, no this was a horrible song. Ok, it has significance because it was the very first Rafi-Lata song, but this in no way comparable to the best that these two sang later on.

  • lol

  • Dr Sahib, my prayers are for you. One thing that you will understand that there is not enough time to do all that you want to do.

Give all that you can without effecting health. You are bringing so much joy and all that will come to you are prayers of people like me.

    Enjoy the day.

  • Respected Sir,

I am wondering the song of the Film Godaan the song is Amvaa ke deshva me aayo re sandeshva ke chal aaj deshva ke oaur. i am also a very great fan of Rafi saab and very grateful to you.

Thanks to you in advance. Sikandar Ali

  • Rafi'n Lata in hilarious mood. Many thanks for this rarity.

  • historical.......

  • Soooooooooooooooooo cute.

  • What a cute song. Whenever I heard the new ugly songs I would feel dejected that no one remembered the golden oldies--I feel reassured now when I look at the emails --there are people who treasure the old songsand know their true value. Keep these treasures alive---

Thankyou for such a rare song

  • Very true . I still enjoy Radio Ceylone and find the rarest gems . The cracling sound gives it a more unique quality !!!

  • they were in the process of learning.

  • Dont think Lata was ever in training, she came Godsent

  • Tkx, Doctor Saheb, for this historic number. It was penned by Pt. Mukhram Sharma and composed by C. Ramchandra. I am not sure but my guess is that on the screen it's Rafi on Rajan and Lata on Ranjana.

  • great song,

    never heard this song b4

    many thanks dr sahib

  • Dr. Sab, boht wadhiya, aapki waja se boht kuch pata chala mujhe to ...

and what about this restlessness, o ji sehtaan banao, ae kam te hunde rehn ge :)

  • Woh kya kehtay hain Hindi bhasha mein kay .. Main aap sab ka "haardik aabhaari" hoon :) All the friends who viewed and/or commented on this historic maiden duet of the two legends of film music.

Yeah am having a bit health problems yaaro.. thanx for your concerns...and do pray for me..nothing serious just over-work fatigue, sleepless nights and lack of rest cuz of actively working on website to collect songs for making a free audio library for all..getting a lot of songs via email daily :)

  • great stuff -i love these antique treasures -my dad told me rafi used to work in a barber shop outside bhatti gate in lahore and sing while grooming customers and very near our ancestral home -dad said they used to tease him -who knew he would become a truly great singer in the real sense of the word .

  • Saigal was performing in Lahore the power failed ,the curtains went down, chappels were flying.Rafi's brother told him "this is your god sent chance, go to the stage and sing as much loud as you can".Rafi obliged, audience saw the young smiling man standing in front of the curtains with folded hands the audience fell silent. Rafi sang until the power came. Saigal came and hugged Rafi and invited him to Bombay and gave his address and phone number, the rest is history;is it not providence!!!

  • Looks like you have lots of tricks and treats in your collection of rare old songs.Amusing and entertaining duet of legendary artists! Thanks for sharing.

  • thanks very much for uploading this treat .. magical voices (escpecially Rafi Sahab)

  • while nothing much is heard about karnad, the second music director of this film, paiganker, he was perhaps R.A.Paiganker. gave music in urvashi- 46 alongwith shyam sunder and ramchanra pal and also in mitti- 47 along with lal mohd. perhaps he was assistant to c ramchandra.

  • Thanks for making available the rarest duet of famous Duo who made Hindi movie songs ever green and immortal.

I am an ardent fan of Mohammed Rafi.On the eve of his 28th death anniversary I listened few songs on SLBC.

  • Bhoot Khoob Dr Sahab. Rafi jaisa ab kahan. Magar Lata bhi bohat hi sweet singer hai qudrat ka anmol tohfay dono!

    Thank you Daktar Ji

  • That was hilarious! Thank God they don't make songs like that now - otherwise boys would be broke before they got married!!

  • Thank you Dr.Sahib for this rare song and sharing with us, Mr.Mohammed Rafi was such a versatile singer, there's no match, he made millions of hearts an Instrument with his talent like they say ...

""When a singer truly feels and experiences what the music is all about, the words will automatically ring true".

May Allah Bless his soul... Ameen.

  • Mr rafi died as a body, but his soul is still a live and will never die, thats why we are still listening to his lovely songs! I loved you RAFI.............thankx Dr

  • Wow, Dr. Bukhari, you certainly have an archaeologist's gift of digging

out old cultural gems. This duet reflects zesty puppy-love sentiments .

I trust you are well. You have my best wishes. Your words "pray for me" in the intro prompted my query.
