I have been listening to manufactured relaxation recordings for years and this is the clearest, most relaxing one I have found. Please tell me there is a longer version I can have. Thanks for your work.
@raifmitchell thanks :-). go to freesounds, and search for "Rain" or "Hail" or whatever, and choose a minimum sample rate or bitrate of something really high in the advanced search... 1000 kb is a good number to start at :-)
@1981z28camaro Thanks for your reply, re. freesound. Wow, I've never seen that kind of website before. Now I understand that you have literally created this video from various different sounds. Impressive. I have no experience with this kind of work. I was hoping for an extended version of your video (binaural beats and all) to help me sleep beyond 10 minutes. I don't have the skill needed to create one of these my self.
Rain hitting a thin corrugated metal/plastic roof with you under it = most calming noise ever.
On a side note. Got the fan on in my room. Closed my eyes and imagined I was in laying in a carport with corrugated plastic roof. (using turtle beach dpx21 headset) actually felt like i was there as the fan felt like a breeze haha
@sonicboomish thats how I felt aswell, only it made me imagine years back as a child id hide in the shed when it was heavy rain or thunder, it sounds just like it, makes me feel safe.
Don't see why the binaural beats matter, since I can't hear them even at full volume, and the average hearing is 20Hz to 20,000Hz. It's like whale talk - you can rarely hear it unless you have a special microphone ot pick it up for you.
However, I can still feel the effects. My mind's soothed - rare, considering my mind is always itching over something. And I can actually fall asleep to this. good job.
@NTRememberTheName the way Binaural Beats work, your not HEARING 5Hz, your brain is GENERATING 5 hz, by gapping the difference between the two frequencies that are separated in your headphones, that's why it differs from the way you would normally think of 5hz.. :-)
@SgtSavage166 thanks for the comment, and glad you liked it :-)
I could try and do another version without the binaural beats in the background, tho I lack the motivation right now, and I am busy with my job, but you could always subscribe, and if I decided to make another version, then you will know as soon as it's uploaded. :-)
@sqeeky100 5 hz by itself is not audible, that is correct, but the way that Binaural Beats work, is that the sound isn't being heard, but in fact it's actually being generated by your own brain....100Hz tone is played in 1 ear, and 105Hz is played in the other ear....I'm sure you would agree that 100hz, and 105hz is easily audible... then what your brain does is "gaps the pitch difference" and creates the difference of 5 hz, so that's how it's able to make you brain operating at 5 hz :-)
@sqeeky100 lol I sort of messed up the last sentence of that reply... anyways, keep in mind that your brain is also generating other frequencies of course, it's just he 5Hz that would be predominant.
@sqeeky100 ok good to know I cleared it up a bit, it's a common misconception when it comes to how it works. :-)
I actually didn't record the sounds, I found them on the Freesound website, and put them together, and then the Binaural Beat (5hz - 4.5hz) I generated that with a program called "Brainwave Generator" and output it to .Wav format.
Listened to this before sleeping, amazingly it increased the vividness and recollection capacity of the dreams I went through that night. That's Binaural 5hz beats for you..
If you don't mind me asking, where was this audio sample taken exactly?
@Orpheonix cool, and yes Theta is great for vivid dreams, tho I usually listen to Delta so I get a deep sleep, but Theta during the day helps reduce the amount of sleep you need, so they go hand in hand.
as far as the audio sample goes...google "Freesounds" and click the 1st link, you can find some nice high quality audio clips on there, I just searched for "Thunder" "Rain" etc...and then used the advanced search filters to find just the high quality clips :-)
@Orpheonix Your Welcome :-), and yes you can find some very good clips on that site, it's the only site I use for finding things like that.
let me know when you create your own, I wouldn't mind having a listen to it :-)
I got this thing called a "Buttkicker" it clamps on to your chair, it's meant mainly for games, movies, and music, but it's great for listening to this video, you can FEEL the thunder, it's very relaxing :-) (Great with using headphones too)
@UnboundVolts yeah I know, I wish you could at least set it to repeat, and yeah they only allow 10 minutes max for a video, unless you have a certain type of account.
thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the video :-)
@1981z28camaro If you would like to have a repeat button on youtube all you need is the awesome program greasemonkey and then plugin the youtube enhancer script found here. (Don't worry I'm not some spammer, dare I say it "This actually works?" :P) userscripts . org/scripts/show/33042
It also gives you the ability to change the quality of the video you are watching and other cool things. :D
@Inspiredinlife nice!, I just tried it, it does work, the only thing I wish you could do with that script is be able to download the video to the computer if you want, do you know of a script to do that?
