hello i am getting a haltech e11v2 from australia for my rb but doesnt come with a cd, will i be able to download the software from you guys so i can install it on ,y laptop and get it working for my tuner??
Awesome...yeh, well I got one yesterday shortly after sending you comment. Got it all installed and working (I think) so now it's just a matter of finding out what firmware and version of Halwin my tuner has been using so that nothing gets screwed up - am pretty sure he still has to upgrade his version for which is there is a process I'm lead to believe....
To upgrade your ecu's firmware, or to upgrade the Halwin software is actually pretty simple. Just download the 1.89 software and the Build 35 firmware from the downloads section of the Haltech website. Install the 1.89 Software, go online with your ecu, and then select to upgrade your firmware from the Options Menu.
You will then disconnect your 34 pin connector and select the Build 35 firmware. After it has erased the old firmware and uploaded the new firmware, load the default map and then your own map again. At this point you will have successfully flashed the firmware on your E8 or E11v2. Power cycle the ecu to ensure that everything went properly, and you should be on your way.
Awesome video - good of you to put up the guide as I'll have to setup mine of vista shortly for a R33 GTR (E11v2). Currently I'm trying to source a USB to serial converter and also the software for it...do you know of any places I can get this from and thr driver? I'm just looking on ebay at the momment.
We usually carry one, and it comes with the driver, but we are out of them at the moment. We have found great success with the Keyspan USB to Serial adapter.
