great thing with dripper systems is you feed only as much as the plants need and no wasted water and you end up using everything from the tank and never discard anything. recirculating systems you end up dicardign loads of unused water and it is just wasteful. it is possible to grow plants in trays without any drainage holes at all as the medium just soaks up everything and dries out. a plant can grow in a tub without any drainage what so ever without effecting growth
There are so many things wrong with this top feed system!!!!! Why are you putting barely rooted clones in to a flower room?!?! Why do you only have one dripper per rockwool? You dont need to soak those 6x6's for 6 hours, maybe 15-30 minutes tops... You spent way more money than you needed to, it may look pretty but your methods prove to be your weakest link.
You have no clue what you are talking about. This system worked fine and it's a good idea to soak the rockwool to devolve the lime left from manufacturing or it will fuck with your PH.
@peterpdjm DUMB ASS!!! It's exactly A TOP FEED SYSTEM. Stop trying to hate fool you talk too much smack.!!! Anyway I'mt not debating with a tool that is you. STOP SMOKIN CRACK JACK . a420ogtoker77@yahoo

Very very expensive operation... bu trust me, it pays for itself in no time at all!system like this is a way over a grand, bu first or second harvest and your money is all caught up, no debt
it's a shame they don't make dripper systems for organic liquid nutrients as organic nutrients become scummy very quickly and block those 4mm dripper lines. HAs anybody tried organic nutrients in a dripper system for soil plants system. I personally think they should use larger diamtre tubing for dripper system with dripper that have larger holes that don't block so easily for use for organic nutrients. Should be easy to make on though
@1982FMJ adjusting the flow rate more often than not involves a section of pipe that can regulate its size thus flow rate. meaning there is no point in the pipes larger size unless its pumping high flow.
most of the time to reduce flow rate a segment is made smaller (a valve) meaning less water will pass. this segment would become blocked negating your efforts with larger pipes.
perhaps a professional pump could maintain pressure while pumping small volumes through thick hose ? i dont know.
Rockwool is an excellent medium but the cost adds up over time and trying to dispose of it in the trash just means one more thing that might look suspicious.
Hydrotron clay pellets you can used over and over again.
What ever works best for you is the the best method.
Thanks for posting such detailed instruction on how to build a top feed drip hydroponics. I just noticed that you didn't include the lighting schedules for the plants. Do you have any suggestion on what type of lighting to use in case I want to grow tomatoes with that kind of system?
Its just like the Matrix movie being plugged into the system, you even inject the black stuff for nutrition just like the movie. I prefer growing my plants in the garden in the soil with rain water from the water butt and sunshine. I get big crops every year and its so tasty plus its all so natural and more fun than an artficial system you are showing.
honestly that seems like a lot of money and a hell of a lot of work for only 24 plants and im not talking for weed i guess i just dont see the point in all that extra work its just a lot easier to plant a garden or something similar and less time consuming i have a timer for water that sets it self and i just make sure there's no weeds out there basic and simple
I am trying to start my own business and i was trying to obtain a list of materials needed for an inside grow room any help needed. Single mom trying to take care of three kids could really use some help
Soil Is Better For Many Reasons.. Taste & Potency Are What I'm Into.. Yields Are For PPL That Wanna Push.. Even Then The Demand Is For Flavor & Potency.. & More Than Nutes & Lights, You Gotta Talk To Your Plants Like If They Where Your Kids, LOVE Them. The Plants Will Return The Love Soon Enough.. Because They Too Have Feelings.. Peace!
fuck sake man ,plant your seeds in soil ,feed every third day. flush once a week it is so simple and can be cheap and dont forget to tell them you love them,,,,peace
growbro's, never had this happen but just cleaned the tub 2 my hydro & for many reasons my 2 plants are sagging more than i've ever seen wonderin if i should clone em or will they pop up, i'll wait til tomorrow hopefully not 2 late any response appreciated, thanks
personally i have calculated that hydroponics actually uses more water and nutrinets than you will end up using with soil plants. THe key is to use the smallest amount of water you can without using too little. if you are using 50 litres of water every two weeks that ends up being quite costly with nutrients. Hydroponics is only more efficent for large volumes comnapred to soil but for the home user it ends up using more nutrients & fluid. THe best system is one that uses no grow media
I dig soil but yield fixes everything. I don't think many grow in hyrdo to save water...They grow in hydro to shorten the grow time an increase yield. It's not about conservation.
true but i also found hydroponic nutrients made my soil grown plants larger than normal and its almost as though hydroponic nutrients have something in them which gives a boost. It's all in the nutrients
THe only thing in hydroopnics that really makes lpants more larger is the nutrients. I've noticed if i feed soil plants hydro nutrients the leafs become overly large on strawberries. It's mostly down to the nutrients and very little to do with root space or oxygen.
If one is looking for the basic setup of the growing medium for a top feed drip system this video should suffice but, as far as putting together the top feed drip system you won't find much help in this video other than as a visual guide. i constructed my own system similar to this one with materials i picked up at my local gardening centers
would you please explain why you seem to be displeased with the B'cuzz products.
i have used their root stimulator and it worked very well, in fact it brought back 6 of my seedlings from disaster. still, i am interested in what you think.
when feeding on water for the last week or so is it ok to do this with tomatoes? MY concern is that not all my tomatoes will of ripened at the same time and some haven't even grow to full capacity at the same time. Is it ok to flush with water for one week then go back to nutrients but im worried about leafs wilting. My other solution was to transfer to soil for the last week to flush nutrients
changing soil sounds way too much trouble, unless youre just doing it for the fun and dont mind the workload. I'd just flush with water and see after one week how the plants are looking like, u dont necessarily have to switch back to nutrients depending how much time you think the plants will take to finish. say you estimate for example around 2 weeks after your flush, I would just run them on water for the 2 extra weeks. on longer period, I'd suggest to switch back to nutrients till new flush.
@powerplant9900 I like hydro over soil as well but your comment about hydro giving bigger yields is arguable for sure. If you want some very good grow guides maybe checkout l2corrodedDOTcom/forum
i have personally seen an outdoor soil plant give a lil more than 10 lbs the most i have heard of is 18 lbs ive never heard of hydros giving ne where near those numbers
what is the most you've heard/seen from hydro and soil?
rare? yes, impossible? NO!!! ive seen the buds, ive smoked the buds where im from r some of the worlds best conditions for growing cannabis they get huge here on a regular basis. 6 feet is pretty normal
im confused dont you have to start seeds in soil to start out? or do you grow them in a medium i dont know what is the best unit or system as far as running and initial and start cost!! i want to grow veggies /herbs in doors during winter what is the cost of a unit like that one
you start the seeds of in mini rockwool cubes and when the roots come through the mini rockwool cubes then you put them into the big ones as shown in the video hope this helps
all of this medium...you might as well use dirt! even better get into AQUAPONICS! you have edible fish, a cool looking display, and no chemical additives!!
Hey I read that the reflecting surface (for the walls) you are using can create "hot spots" which can burn the plants. Is it true that it's better to use white for the walls?
is aerponics definitely faster than hydro? Im only talking about the sprinkler type aeroponic systems, not the expensive commercial type aerponics with accumalator and compressor. THat would be impractical for home use.
I reccomend at least a 633. The lower 200 ones probably won't push the water up a few feet from the resevoir. Remember to keep your air pump above the the system if you are using one (to prevent a syphon).
Buy containers. Buy stands for containers. Buy lights. Buy surface materials. Buy all plant-soil-like materials. Buy plants. Buy all foods for plants... Starve to death while plants grow. [Use plants for funeral decor.]
Well it takes 22 gallons of water to grow 1 head of lettuce in soil where as in hydroponics you can grow the same head of lettuce with only 2 gallons of water. Also good luck growing outside in the winter. Other than that I hope everyone grows under the sun in the ground when it is the right season.
Hey, I liked it, and learned a lot. I also understand why someone might go with one brand or other too. It makes it easier to go with one system. Don't let the negativity get you down-- many comments are posted by losers.
NOW I see why nobody does hyrdoponics! It's friggin' expensive and time consuming.
What did I learn from this video? That the Manufacturer of B'cuzz posted it in an attempt to increase their sales. Boys, you got to make it much simpler and cheaper than that!!!
The plants we grew in this video were used to shoot the Asexual Propagation video on HydroTV dot com. Also the peppers in the B'cuzz Bounce video were grown exclusively with B'cuzz Nutrients. I will no longer be placing videos on here since people who work for Hydrodynamics use it to bad mouth their competition .

will tell ya and this.
Outdoor and hydro is not comparable cause light source and space for roots.
Outdoor are per plant because its way to plant show her maximum.
Hydro are per m2 (or beter per lumen/m2) because restricted light source and space for roots.
Best per plant by indoor or best per m2 indoor can not be answered if you dont have info about light source and distance of the plant/s.
However, I will say ,indoor, 700gr per m2.
*Possible*

will tell ya.
Plant who give more of 800 grams are rare,so usualy its about 500 grams.Dried weed.
When you chop plant, weight of wet weed are 2,5kg to 4kg / 5,5 lbs to 9lbs and we loosing 75% on water in it.
So we have only 25% of weight of wet buds. Equal to 1Kg = 250gr.
To got 10lbs/4,5kg of buds, plant must handle on her body 40lbs/18kg of pure buds without leaves>what is impossible.
In that case tree must be 10 inch / 25cm in diameter what is impossible too.
*Impossible*
outdo0rmaster 2 years ago
rare? yes, impossible? NO!!! ive seen the buds, ive smoked the buds where im from r some of the worlds best conditions for growing cannabis they get huge here on a regular basis. 6 feet is pretty normal

outdoor I have gotten one plant last year that dried 4.3 lbs
rambo440hp 1 year ago
your exactly right Sojao but I can grow twice what you can in a years time because of quick grow times and turnover with hydro
rambo440hp 1 year ago
100x more work and 100x more expensive. I put 1 plant in the ground. You have to have a whole setup and 20+ plants.

this looks like a seriously expensive and overly complex system:S
MaZEEZaM 3 years ago 2
im confused dont you have to start seeds in soil to start out? or do you grow them in a medium i dont know what is the best unit or system as far as running and initial and start cost!! i want to grow veggies /herbs in doors during winter what is the cost of a unit like that one
kepfingered 3 years ago
you start the seeds of in mini rockwool cubes and when the roots come through the mini rockwool cubes then you put them into the big ones as shown in the video hope this helps
azza7717 3 years ago
Not counting lights your looking around $13,00. Matters what brand name and where you buy it.
growsupplies 3 years ago
very good video guide maybe a next one would be on how to make your own systems!
pjwaffle 3 years ago
all of this medium...you might as well use dirt! even better get into AQUAPONICS! you have edible fish, a cool looking display, and no chemical additives!!
cheech85086 3 years ago
Hey I read that the reflecting surface (for the walls) you are using can create "hot spots" which can burn the plants. Is it true that it's better to use white for the walls?

defaultuser11433 3 years ago
is aerponics definitely faster than hydro? Im only talking about the sprinkler type aeroponic systems, not the expensive commercial type aerponics with accumalator and compressor. THat would be impractical for home use.
chunder123 3 years ago
Have you made an instructional video on the DIY PVC hydro systems? I'm trying to make one for my balcony :)
01DINGUS10 3 years ago
hydro has nothing to do with pollination
NWOkillininthenameof 3 years ago
"as they are ready to be placed into the system".. be a part of my system! mauahahhaha

is your name bud
flyestone420 3 years ago
choose aeroponics. It eliminates the need for any growing media. ROckwool isnt good for the enviroment

How big of a Water pump is needed to run 24drippers and do you use an air pump?
chucspe 3 years ago
I reccomend at least a 633. The lower 200 ones probably won't push the water up a few feet from the resevoir. Remember to keep your air pump above the the system if you are using one (to prevent a syphon).
koskoarts 3 years ago
but, if you must place the air pump below your system(lower than the water line), simply put a loop in your line to prevent syphon.

Buy containers. Buy stands for containers. Buy lights. Buy surface materials. Buy all plant-soil-like materials. Buy plants. Buy all foods for plants... Starve to death while plants grow. [Use plants for funeral decor.]

can all the items seen on this video be bought through a hydroponics store? like the lime blocks and all the tubs and harnesses?

i think the key to growing is great seeds!
patrick95212 4 years ago
Genetics is the biggest factor in quality as long as evey other factor is correct..
Bewellfarmer 4 years ago
That is so expensive & difficult!! why not just plant them outside and water them every day saving money+time
sindit300 4 years ago

Boys, you got to make it much simpler and cheaper than that!!!
nowandever29 4 years ago
This is so simple. I am not from B'cuzz. They did pay us to use there stuff though. This was made by us at hydrotv dot com.
PS I have I hydroponic store and tons of people use it.

Yes
Bewellfarmer 4 years ago
The plants we grew in this video were used to shoot the Asexual Propagation video on HydroTV dot com. Also the peppers in the B'cuzz Bounce video were grown exclusively with B'cuzz Nutrients. I will no longer be placing videos on here since people who work for Hydrodynamics use it to bad mouth their competition .
