  • @die4pie123 Game Boy version.

  • Crashman is a better name anyway, romanisation for the win.

  • this isn't the theme i remember.

  • @die4pie123 That's because it's the Game Boy version of Crash Man's song.

  • Maybe it`s because of how asians pronounce L`s as R`s? lol jk :)

  • As I prefer to call it: ''Neat in a bucket''.

  • To those being dumb about the name, It's a JAPANESE name. It goes by two variations because the Japanese get their L and R mixed up, and since both Crash and Clash are English Words, it could be either one.

  • The game in question (Mega Man 2 on Game Boy) was released in 1992, which was 18 years ago.

  • Well Im guessing you've only played mm2 on the nes then, cause this is "Clash" Man's theme on the gameboy and it sounds just like it should.

  • at the start i was thinking that was airman theme

  • ... It's from MegaMan 2 GB, the theme is different...

  • About the naming.

I just completed mega man II on my game boy, and just so all of you know, crash man is called clash man three times in the game, first on the screen you see when you play his level, and the second time is when you kill him, you get the "clash bomb", and the third time is in the end credits, when all the enemies in the game get named, they write that he is clash man.

So maybe they just screwed it up? But I still don't get that because someone shoul've known the right name..

  • Excellent work.

  • I like the name; Clashman better than Crashman, Crashman sounds like a Crash-Test-Dummy to me xD

And Clash.. well, I just like it better D=

Original Megaman 8-bit Sidescrolling Games FTW ;x

[That's why I like MM9 so much] xD

  • Exactly! Clashman sounds much more like a guy who'll kick you good, rather than Crashman!

    This is classic! 5 stars!

  • Oh my God yes. This is awesome. This Gameboy Crashman theme is way better than the Nintendo; plus he is the hardest boss on Gameboy. I alway picked him last because no other boss weapon done any good.

  • Wha?

That boss was easy .. ;o

I usually did him last too, but that's because I always did the following:

    Metal -> Wood -> Air -> Crash

    Ahh well. :D

And err, you said: GB Theme is better than the Nintendo?

    GB = Nintendo too xD

You were probably referring to the NES ;]

  • I go Wood->Air->Crash/Clash->Metal so I can get the E-Tank in Crash/Clashman's stage.

  • Smart ^^

But idc about E-tanks, I rarely use them.

  • bass bass make up a part for bass bass bass

  • this made my day.

  • Awesome, awesome! Freaking awesome! Excellent work. Now do Boston's "More than a Feeling".

  • Nice work! I tried to remake this tune in MilkyTracker. Check out my video response.

    Cheers!

  • Sounds just like the original, amazing. xD

  • Actually, Crashman was a misspelling of Clashman.

  • I always assumed "Clashman" was the error, since the NES version (Crashman) came first. How do you know/why do you think Crashman is the misspelled one?

  • It could be any of the 2... R and L are both the same letter in Japan and that could explain why 1 version is crash and the other is clash.

Though I believe it to be crashman as well...

  • Dr Light is called Dr Right in Japan.

    Same problem I guess.

  • @SpykeMX I was under the impression he was Dr. Hikari, which is the translation of 'light' in japanese.

  • @SpykeMX but what I want to know is this....

How do you get Mega out of Rock?

How do you get Protoman out of Blues?

    How do you beat Airman?!?!?!?!

    that is all.

  • @PurpleKirby54

    1. It was more western than Rockman, plus Rockman is a stupid name.

    2. They were continuing the western trend.

    3. Jump over his air blades and IMMEDIATELY throw the leaf shield at him.

  • @KitsuneRaven well,on genisis the wily tower in wily wars says CL for crashman(cause it has the select weapon screen like megaman 3) and clementj642 said Crashman was called Clashman in japan.

  • @AzureDreams777

I originally assumed Clashman was the right translation istead of Crashman, but I've been to a translation site and the Japanese word for Clash is gekitotsu, while the word for Crash is kurasshu. Crashman's original name is Kurasshuman.

  • @xservintage Yes, but Airman's Japanese name is still "Airman," even though "air" is a different word in Japanese. All the robot master names are in English, and R and L are indistinguishable in Japanese, so "kurasshu" could mean "Clash" as well. It's pointless to argue which one is correct, since it just depends on how you read it.

  • @AzureDreams777 Clash would make a bit more sense. I mean Wth was crashman built for. I'll tell you what: BATTLE!!! and another word for battle is clash.

  • Crashman just makes more sense to americans.

  • yeah cuz his weapons are bombs but clashman works also cuz his arms are DRILLS lo :P

  • What do drills have to do with clash?

  • LOL clashman's arms are not made of drill you dult LOL

  • no look at a picture his arms are literaly drills

  • Still that like a clutch he uses to shoot a bomb but it not a drill. look the difference between drillman and crash/clashman

  • You did a nice job of converting it to a more tolerable range (although I'm among the few people who don't really find the original game's music to be a complete piece of junk, so that makes this sound even better). It sounds just like the actual theme in a lower octave; very nice.

  • WOW sounds like the actual song, hats off you ROCK

  • favorite one

  • WHHHHHHHAAAAAAAT!!!!

    ...dope...just...dope...

  • Okay this guy OWNS the gameboy noise.

  • NAILED!! It's actually surreal to see someone do a theme this rare and so loyal to the original. My 5 are belong to this.

  • Classic dude.. loved it.. brings back memories lol

  • nice job man!

  • I took screencaps of the comments under me..

    Anyways, awesome remix.

  • Huh? Millions of people make MP3's and midis, I want to do something different.

  • Stop arguing or I'll block your comments.

  • sorry man....

  • It sounds just like the original but in a lower octave. Great job!

  • Its the next tombobblender

  • Wow, sounds just the original. =D

  • so....PERFECT!! MOAR!!!

  • I've watched this one like 50 times. I really like it.

  • needs bass

  • It does have bass. The bass shares a lot of notes with the melody though, so I used the same instrument.

  • I don't suppose it's the same theme as Crash Man from NES, right? If it is... I can't hear it. Do the Crash Man NES theme please!

  • The Game Boy version of Mega Man 2 has completely different music than the NES version. I already tried the NES Crash Man, but the bass in the beginning (and throughout the song) is impossible to do without sharps or flats, even if you transpose it.

  • Try the Mario Paint Composer. It's free, and it has sharps and flats (with the Shift and Control keys), not to mention you won't have to piece it together, since it can hold more notes. Google it, I've seen it a couple times here on YouTube. :D

  • I know about it, but I'd rather just use this. Poses more of a challenge. If I wanted sharps and flats, I'd use Anvil Studio.

  • It's a remix of the NES Air Man theme.

  • no its not

thats how it sounds in the gb version

when i first heard this song

the first thing i said was

    AIR MAN

btw this guy did a good job making it sound as hollow as it was in the gb

  • Yes, but it is still a remix of the Air Man theme. Also, I'm sure the "Gameboy" notes helped him get that "Gameboy" sound. =)

I'm totally gonna be listening to Mario Paint music for the next couple of days.

  • Awesome, thats one of my favorite stage themes too ^_^
