Chrysler bought American Motors in 1987, and American Motors owned Kaiser-Jeep. I doubt Obama's first new car was provided to him when he was 27 years old. So, he must have bought an AM product. I fail to understand how GM created 50,000 jobs when it cut 34,000 jobs in 2009. I also fail to understand how a company that owes taxpayers $43 billion can make a profit. The whole bailout was unconstitutional. Taxpayers were forced to buy stock worth 0 that they did not want. Now the only way to pay them back is to sell that stock once again on the market and it would have to sell at an all time high to cover the loan from the taxpayers. Any jobs created were paid for by taxpayers bailout.

The sad thing is the original stock holders lost everything the investors lost everything the union got 40% of stock for nothing and taxpayers paid $50 billion for stock worth nothing. If they put GM back on the stock exchange who will buy the stock? Taxpayers already own it and investors and previous stock holders who lost everything are likely not to want to get shafted again. Some Honda's like the S2000 are 100% Japan. It all depends on the model.If the V.I.N. # starts with a J then it's from Japan. Other have different corresponding letters/numbers to indicate different U.S. States and countries

@quizzery -- Actually when Obama took office, he inherited a $1.3 trillion annual deficit. When Bush took office, Clinton had left him a surplus. The deficit was caused mainly by a tax cut to everyone (but skewed to the wealthy), and a drug program... both of which were not "paid for." Now that the recession has hit and health care is costing more, the challenge facing Obama is much greater than what the previous presidents had facedf.
Obama is correct in saying that the economy is getting better. It's still bad (as he admits), but even McCain's former economic adviser has said that the economy would have been much worse were it not for the stimulus plan. Also, it is undisputable that the american auto industry is doing much better now than a year ago. GM and Chrysler are paying back the "bailout" money WITH interest. Best of all, they are finally on their way to producing "green" vehicles.

Watch that stock exchange, when it goes up it is only becasue of bail out money, not because the economy is good, when the new unemplyment bill went through the market went up because investors know that money will help the econmy for about 3 months but back down it will go when the unemployment is gone. Chrysler bought American Motors in 1987, and American Motors owned Kaiser-Jeep. I doubt Obama's first new car was provided to him when he was 27 years old. So, he must have bought an AM product. I fail to understand how GM created 50,000 jobs when it cut 34,000 jobs in 2009. I also fail to understand how a company that owes taxpayers $43 billion can make a profit. The whole bailout was unconstitutional. Taxpayers were forced to buy stock worth 0 that they did not want. Now the only way to pay them back is to sell that stock once again on the market and it would have to sell at an all time high to cover the loan from the taxpayers. Any jobs created were paid for by taxpayers bailout.

The sad thing is the original stock holders lost everything the investors lost everything the union got 40% of stock for nothing and taxpayers paid $50 billion for stock worth nothing. If they put GM back on the stock exchange who will buy the stock? Taxpayers already own it and investors and previous stock holders who lost everything are likely not to want to get shafted again. I love Obama and I know he has to say that American cars are great but Ford is the only American Co. worth buying a car from. @Whodini3000 Not true. Some cars maybe but not all. i worked for Honda for 3 year. Most of the vehicles were either 60% U.S. 40% Japan or 70% U.S. 30% Japan. Btw in Japan your Acura is just a Honda. Some Honda's like the S2000 are 100% Japan. It all depends on the model.If the V.I.N. # starts with a J then it's from Japan. Other have different corresponding letters/numbers to indicate different U.S. States and countries

@DellisHe .. I fail to see your point since we use presidents middle names all the time. If Obama's middle name happens to be HUSSEIN then so be it. That's his name. If people want to think he is related to Saddam HUSSEIN than that's on them. Why should we be prevented from using his given name since he used it when he took his oath to defend some country? Yes we want Obama to fail because by him failing the entire country wins. We wont become socialist, jobs will come back, taxes will be lower.

GDP fell to 2.4% in the 2nd Qtr. and the GDP has to be at 3% to create jobs! If anyone believes Obama and Democrats your better off trying to swim with an anchor strapped to your ass! He is lying right to our faces, and people that know he is lying can't stomach the guy. Excuse me while I throw-up! Sickening! GDP has to be at 5% to reduce unemployment by 1%, and we are still at 9.5%! Numbers never lie!

hey he's a pretty smart guy maybe he knows about price deflation caused by imported cheap products to Wal marts all over America. and the wage deflation caused by illegal labor pools too all of which undercut American worker's wage and American made products products, and now we wonder why we're unemployed.
Unemployment is high because their greed infested policies have made the American worker obsolete and don't expect that to change...ever! Well unless we all want to take our country back...

@quizzery -- Actually when Obama took office, he inherited a $1.3 trillion annual deficit. When Bush took office, Clinton had left him a surplus. The deficit was caused mainly by a tax cut to everyone (but skewed to the wealthy), and a drug program... both of which were not "paid for." Now that the recession has hit and health care is costing more, the challenge facing Obama is much greater than what the previous presidents had facedf.

Obama is correct in saying that the economy is getting better. It's still bad (as he admits), but even McCain's former economic adviser has said that the economy would have been much worse were it not for the stimulus plan. Also, it is undisputable that the american auto industry is doing much better now than a year ago. GM and Chrysler are paying back the "bailout" money WITH interest. Best of all, they are finally on their way to producing "green" vehicles.

No @shelby11211 first learn to spell. second realize that, for instance, he says that we need to return to an acceleration of the growth rate, acknowledging the fact that this morning for Q2 the growth rate declined from Q1. He differentiates between shrinking and growing, subtly & appropriately, because it is his job to inspire confidence in the economy he's trying to invigorate. Did you on the front page of the ny times they said the electric car is the way of the future and is the most economical way to go ---- that was in 1911, they couldn't convince us then and they have failed now . The American public dictates to the auto dealers what we want. And it not the electric car.

Mr. Obama, if we go full force into building electric driven and combustion engine assisting and recharging vehicles, our economy will boom like those huge torque those e-race-car engines produced. People can choose hub motor wheels or single AC propulsion engines. Modularize the industries so all alternative devices can be modeled into these electric cars, test and sell by all lines of dealers.

Everyone is not meant to own a home, as some people were born to rent, as they have shown by not paying the mortgages that they couldn't afford in the first place. Obama's Budget deficit is est to be $1.4 trillion this year. So who put us deeper in debt? Obama spent more in one year then Bush did in eight. @723NKX No even Sahara would have been better, I use to think the same about her, but I didnt really listen to her, than I started to listen to her and found she is much smarter than Obama and she loves the country, where Obama does not. I listen to all her speeches as well as Obamas and she is far better, I have noticed the number of people watching Obamas speeched have droped off. If Obama had not cheated against Hilery, the we would have her, because he cheated I pick McCain as being better

find two sources that give the exact same numbers. you won't be able to. but the best sources still show slowed rate of job loss. no official is saying "the job market is good right now," but that doesn't mean it hasn't improved. it's still progressing. it won't happen overnight.

@njin72 First the only jobe there have been new is from the tax payers. The workes that cleaned up the oil spill, the U.S. censor jobs. All these jobs were just Temporary and made to look like the job situtation is better. Obama people are not counting the millions of people who lost their unemployment, who fell off the grid, they are not counted to keep numbers down. Obama will tell you on average that there are 4-5 people aplying for one job, again he has lied. PART 1

@shelby11211 There are about 20-40 people per job openning. All this goverment money, and temp jobs are the only few jobs being created. it will fall deeper within the year. Watch that stock exchange, when it goes up it is only becasue of bail out money, not because the economy is good, when the new unemplyment bill went through the market went up because investors know that money will help the econmy for about 3 months but back down it will go when the unemployment is gone. @shelby11211 Look at your own junk mail you get and notice that companys need to give you something free to get you in, like a sandwich or a soda, they do this becasue people are not buying. Obama knows the real figurs and has had his administration down play them. They counted the temp oil clean up workers as "new jobs created", but when they all got permantly laid off, becasue of the storm, the goverment wont count them as" lost jobs",they are not comeing back DONT YOU SEE THAT?.
