I actually flinched when I heard Wayne Grayson play Mikey! It always freaks me out when I hear voices which I connect to animated characters to a real person! Geez! I loved Mikey's scream at the end!
yeah too bad because of union vs non-union bullshit, we won't be hearing these voices in the new "movie" crossover Turtles Forever. They got replacements for the 1987 crew. Pisses me off! How dare they replace the 1987 crew. i'd rather not even have them if we can't have the original voices!
@greenrangerv1 There's always a "redub" option (this can include replacements in the original series as well). People and fans will purchase special "redub" editions if they happen.
Some very talented voice actors. Hearing Peter Renaday's "normal" voice for he first time makes it a lot easier to hear how he does both Vernon and Splinter - I can hear shades of both of them, although his normal voice is much closer to Splinter's. I believe Pete also did General Traag and Big Louie as well. How Barry Gordon pulls off Donatello AND Bebop, or Cam Clarke with Leo AND Rocksteady, I'll never know!
@woodchuk123 In another video, Barry Gordon says that for Donatello, he uses his normal voice and just pitches it up higher to sound like a teenager. Bebop is some weird articulation, however. Then on the Season 5 DVD extra, you can hear Cam Clarke in normal voice; though he tweaked it a few times for Leonardo (He seemed to pitch it up a little higher though for each season). Rob Paulsen's Raph isn't far from his normal voice, but Michelangelo is a lot differerent from Townsend's normal voice.
@pannoni1 As for the others, Shredder by James Avery is quite a bit deeper than his normal, "Uncle Phil" voice. Pat Fraley however seems to have the most variation: Woobly Krang, nerdy Baxter, tough Casey Jones, and bossy Burne are quite distinct from one another and was probably the most talented VA on the original show. Jennifer Darling simply uses her "standard cartoon voice" for Irma (heard on many other shows), and Renae goes just a little lower for April and much higher for Lotus.
i'd have to say that peter renaday [splinter, vernon, and a slew of others] and townsend coleman [mikey, rat king, yosagi, and others] were my favorite voice actors from this show.
i think that James Avery was best for the shredder, but then again I have always liked him, especially as uncle phil in the fresh prince of bel air lol.
WOW!!! I never would have guessed that Scott Williams looked like Baxter Stockman in real life. Has Sam Regal(2003 voice of Donatello) ever been to any conventions like this?
I was just wondering since I have seen videos of many of the other 2003 TMNT actors from various shows here.
Yeah - check out the clip "Personal Greeting from the Ninja Turtles" from BehindTheShells. It has Townsend Coleman (Mikey), Rob Paulsen (Raph), Barry Gordon (Don), Pat Fraley (Krang), and Renae Jacobs (April).
If you watch the European Vacation episode in London, the voice of Sherlock Holmes sounds very much like Peter Reneday's normal speaking voice.

Yes, Renae Jacobs did both Lotus Blossom and April.

I was amazed that Renae had Lotus reference Karai. Though I couldn't understand what she said Karai would do if she won the fight.

@ffreed

Does ANYONE know what Renae Jacobs looks like? I have yet to see ONE photo of her online and I've been looking for quite a long time. Anyone?

I missed these clips. One question though, why didn't you post any character images during the voice clips from the classic toon voice overs?
