  • Love Anderson guitars

  • 3:30 More or less, Burn it Down by Alter Bridge

  • i appreciate when builders use the bare minimum of acrylic so you can see the light glimmer off the flame!

  • it is actually ~700 guitars per year

  • Me encanta y fascina :D

  • Very very very good.

  • I'm so proud that my Uncle gets to work at Tom Anderson and do the staining and finishing on almost every guitar that comes out of that shop! BEST GUITARS OUT THERE!

  • Isn't Tom Anderson the dude who created MySpace?

  • This is a fine made guitar however, in my opinion the tone doesn't even begin to touch on what a PRS can do. This sounds very shallow and harsh (tone wise)...I do have to say though that color is stunning!

  • @prs907 That's a snap review if I ever read one. I'm sure the amp, player, camera mic, etc has nothing to do with the tone you are hearing, right? ; ) PRS makes killer guitars. I can find dozens of You Tube clips of PRS that would be terrible too. Try one before you write Andersons off as second fiddle to PRS. I think you would be surprised. Maybe even converted.

  • Respond to this video... No offense intended.

  • DAT TONE

  • I have one like this, but mine is not hollow and mine has quilt maple top. this guitar is really amazing

  • Tasty! Like fried chicken!

  • contours.

  • "Do some cooking Rob..." - that some really nice stew! :P

  • The intro song was Bleed the Light, right? (hey that rhymed :D)

  • i thought 500 a year was many, but when i heard 500 a day for taylor.............

  • anyone know the price of Tom Anderson drop top guitar? doesnt have to be exact price. Thanks

  • @schecterguitarsfan About $3400 US, depending what you features you add. You can get a good deal on ebay though...I got mine there, and it was absolutely flawless...no dings whatsoever, all case candy and the orginal case too...$1650. Has a quilt top with a fireburst finish. Looks like a mirror, and it's about as close to dead-mint as you can ask for. It remains my favorite and most used guitar. I always grab my Anderson, no matter what style I'm fixing to play.

  • @Sweeper5 HOLY S____! 3400$?! But im sure it's worth it to buy :) Anyway, thanks for the reply!

  • Fretwanker, no panache!

  • that Les paul looking thing with the floyd behind the guys head at about 1:17 or so, what is that? it looks awesome

  • @joniiboy It looks like an ESP, but I can't tell for sure.

  • @joniiboy Yeah that's a ESP eclipse, though I'm not sure what model. Could be a Custom.

  • I wish I had money like the guys that own that shop.

  • this guitar kinda looks like mine ( ibanez sa 220 fm )

  • A real impressive guitar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why does it seem like Anderson guitars are always HOLLOW drop tops. Why not ever solid body with a top?

  • A step up from a Squier. Funny guy as always. Nice Tom Anderson. Want one with 24 frets and Floyd Rose

  • Were can i buy this guitar ?

  • what an awesome haven for guitarists !!!!!!!

  • Hi. I read tom anderson guitars often come with "sunken" floyd rose, what's it for?

  • Fuck it all, I'm saving for that guitar. That exact Guitar.

  • wou, beautiful cleans man

  • I See Fender, Gibson, PRS, Ernie Ball, Ect... But Where Is The Good Stuff??? Where Are The Peavey Guitars???

  • Looks very nice, but I still prefer my good old schecter hellraiser c-7FR XD, obviously not hand made like this thing though (but theres a string missing :) )

  • I havn't been looking that hard but it seems like most people have hollow tom andersons. Are their solids not that great?

  • how much does that matchless cost?

  • @25jonathan probably about as much as a used car...

  • hey rob, wat is the song at the end ot this video?

  • @metallicafan1129 That's Bleed The Light by Rob Chapman :)

  • You gotta hook up this guitar to the engl behind you. Everyone watching will have their faces melting!

  • The 'used to work for Schecter' thing bugs Tom.

They also make about 700 guitars a year according to Tom.

  • I played an Anderson Telecaster a few months ago! best guitars ever! thx Tom for these guitars!

  • who's better suhr or tom anderson?

  • This guitar seems to have a lot of shuuuuhhhs and huuuuhss .

  • Where can you buy the full set of Hardwire pedals like that with the pedal board?

  • A touch of Nickelback... I like it haha. Nice guitar.

  • incredible body and pickups.......ugly ugly fretboard

  • what' the opening and ending track name

  • good old english guys love it!

  • hmm vintage trem - im used to floyds. Does that guitar stay in tune after heavy wammy use?. I would hope so for what TAs cost these days. Does it have have locking tuning pegs? Beautiful guitar btw.

  • @CavefishX I have had TA's for since 96, and most of them Floyds, but the way the guitar is built, it really doesn't matter. They stay in tune no matter what you bridge you use and no locking tuner needed, they are set up perfectly...

Get one, you won't regret it!

  • I agree, best guitar ever. but let me clarify a couple of things for ya, Anderson makes about 800 to 950 or so guitars a year, not 400. and the little switch you pionted to is a bridge spliter, not a vintage voicing switch, and the push pull on the tone knob only adds the bridge pickup in the one 1 and 2 position ( neck and neck and middle), and Taylor does'nt make 500 guitars a day.. would be cool if they could pull that off... that might be a worl record..lol awesome guitar though!

  • Tom himself says that yearly production is about 750 pieces per year. I have talked to him about production numbers and he also rolls out that number on his DVD.

  • @upgutter1 Not to split hairs, but Tom does offer "Vintage Voicing" which as you split the humbucker, it also weakens the single coil signal to give you that more vintage tone.

  • nice guitar

  • haha, "so its a step up from a squier"

  • 3:13 a bit of "One" :)

  • Tom swedish? :)

  • That clean at the second half of the video was AMAZING!!! And I think that's where the guitar is judged from for me: the cleans. Cause you can achieve a good distorted sound with the right gear, but a REALLY good clean is really hard to find....

  • that store should be ashamed for having so much crappy stuff... i'll do them a service by taking all of it off of their hands. lol jk

  • you would have to do it for free of course.....sick sick people.

  • I heard that the owner of matchless has put a bounty on ur head for the distortion pedal Chappers

  • Tasty, like fried chicken.

  • Nice use of the Matchless Avalon with that, cool clean tones! Getting tempted here...

  • Nice guitar...but where are the lefty models? :o)

  • I like how he says "Drop Top"

  • accents = sound of win

  • I used to be a contact for Tom Anderson at their canadian dealer. 400 instruments per year is incorrect Anderson makes about 750 guitars a year. They have about 14 people on staff. Amazing company, if you want to spec a guitar out you can call them and Tom (THE Tom Anderson) or Roy will help you spec out a guitar. I have a lot of their guitars....absolute top notch.

  • @ThieleM Yeah what he said.

  • Whaaa, If I only had some money...

Also, I really don't like that Digitech Metal pedal.

    *Shudder*

    ~~Andrew

  • me neither... it was a bit cheap sounding. maybe the wrong amp to use with it or something...

  • Comment removed

  • Andersons are the best guitars, I own 4 and want more. Their pickups are insane!!!

  • Wow, the clean stuff at the end sounded great! how much was that guitar selling for?

  • rob what do you think about the hardwire pedals?? I no your not an avid fan of stomp box od etc just after your thoughts

  • Hi mate, I am not a massive pedal user but I have to say the Hardwire pedals are second to none!

  • @RobChappers Awesome video bro. im kind of new at this. What are hardwired pedals and how do i get them.? Cheers.

  • This 'whew' is a cuttaway?

  • nope, it's the curves of the body of the guitar, that kind of smooth, amost feminine curve is very boring to do, specially on the hardest wood, they even burn sometimes...

  • This guy could sell me a short scale butterfly Daisy Rock guitar lol He makes everything sound like the best ever.

  • beauty of a guitar but I think Rob tends to get a little heavy pick handed when it comes to playing subtle notes...I guess he gets excited with all the great ax's to play with

  • man, that's a beauty

  • Everyones gotta love Chappers demoing guitars :-)

  • how much does that guitar cost?

  • Mid to upper end of the $2000 range I think for the drop tops

  • i can't even imagine how good that sounds in person!

  • That guitar is BEUTIOUS!

  • The model of that distortion hardwire pedal please?

  • tube overdrive

  • Nice.

  • Hey Rob, nice vid as always.

One question: Do you know, how they work the drop top, that it bends around the arm rest on the front? Simply bending or what?

    Cheers mate ;)

  • chappers. purchase that.

  • Awesome guitars those andersons, awesome prices too of course!

  • that's the guitar that suits you the most since Wednesday's untimely departure :D

seriously mate you and that thing were made for eachother

    Rik

  • chappers is king!

  • That guitar was beatiful! Not so often you see such a good looking guitar.

Was I not paying attention or did you not mention the price?

  • Wow, that thing sings!

  • Bob I didn't catch, but does this guitar have a coil split for the bridge pickup?

  • I love that *whistle* lol

Rob, world guitars have any caparisons?

  • That is a step closer to heaven that store I mean! -PK

  • When Rob said It's like a step up from a squire I thought it would be a bit chaper.

    :o I was wrong

  • Sorry mate, I was being sarcastic...

  • damn you sarcasm!!!! haha

  • @RobChappers That was a nice joke!

  • the lick you play at 2:38 sounds ammmmmazin!!

  • Another awesome video Rob. Great guitar, great tone and great playing.

  • Tom Andersons ARE the best guitars in the world. I had a friend who once lived in California, and tried out for Ozzy. He was the runner-up- Ozzy chose Zakk over him. He has a perfect Anderson, purple flametop. Probably the most perfect guitar I have ever played

  • that lick from 3:17 is amazing!!

  • You hang out there a lot eh? ;)

  • im like the hardwire pedals are they as good as people say . this is only a video so i couldnt say ??

  • rob grab that les paul in the back at 1:33 that has the EMG's and the floyd. it looks killer. and that guitar you have........ it looks like a dream

  • I love the monkey lord : )

  • Love you to buddy!

  • :DDDDDD!!! ill never forget that moment of my life

  • @RobChappers love you three :)

  • That is a beautiful guitar, my personal fav out of all the ones you have reviewed in the past few days.

  • I have the TL-2 metal pedal its awesome!!!!!!! sounds crazy!!

  • Can't fault that - its a beauty!

  • Perfect guitar to break into In the presence of Enemies By Dream Theater!!!

  • Do some review for normal prized guitars. Not more then 1000 euros...

  • omg beautiful

  • "Do some cooking Rob" -- classic!

  • was that another alterbridge song i hear in there? burn it down?

    looks like an amazing guitar.

  • Those hardwire pedals are ace

  • You're really enjoying the freedom of playing whatever guitars you want, I see :) Any chance of a demo on something semi-hollow?

  • Monkey Lord, you sure love that "One" riff by Metallica =D

Featured in tons of your vids haha

  • where was that?

  • World Guitars

  • no, snipingcheese said that he played "one" by metallica in this video but i didnt hear it

  • the "One" riff?
