It is always good to hear polish language, especially when it is said by foreigners. I was suprised, when I see how well they can speak in my language. Of course you can hear that it was said by American, but yet you can understand it.

Don't know how many people know this - but Mel Brooks was in the US Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Look up this battle - anyone who fought in this saw some very heavy fighting. It was a last desperate try by Hitler to keep the Allies from advancing on Germany.
Mel Brooks - great comedian. Love his movies.
Also, Mel *was* married to Anne Bancroft in real life.
This is the first time that I realized that "Sweet Georgia Brown" had lyrics, and it figures that I learned them in Polish!
Please don't blame me for not knowing that... The only time I knew the song was when the Harlem Globetrotters were around, and that was instrumental music! For what it is worth, this was LONG before the internet was widely available, so I could not google the song lyrics.
When I first saw it, I thought they forgot to put subtitles to this scene but the narrator said that rest of the movie will not be in Polish, I replied thank goodness for that LOL
If you like this movie, check out the original. It's on YouTube as "TBONTB" because otherwise this one comes up first. They're VERY different -- main character plays very small parts, though just happens to look like Hitler; the theater begins serious instead of vaudeville ... watching one and then the other makes both a lot more funny. (They're both still comedies.) Check it out and you'll love both even more.
I was glad to see Mel Brooks honored at the Kennedy Center. That was a show, friends! The 87 year old Carl Reiner (Bless him) participated along with tons of Mel's fellow actors & actresses. Mel was clearly moved, as he blew kisses to them. I was crying in happiness. Is it any wonder that 60 Minutes venerable reporter, Mike Wallace chose to to his final segment by interviewing Mel Brooks? Btw, it was hilarious & at times emotional. Mel Brooks is a national treasure of the United States. Peace.
Hate on Mel Brooks is like hating yourself.

Much as I love Mel, and great as it is to see him and Ann working together, he just couldn't be more wrong playing a leading Shakespearian actor.
Even in a movie, just his height would disqualify him.

@WillScarlet16 It suggests something about the character Brooks is playing, though.

@WillScarlet16 ...um, I think it's supposed to be incongruous, not serious....

I don't think any other comedian could have gotten away with making fun of the Nazis, Mel Brooks is a master.
