  • FYI: Check out the video "Ballerina Dance", for a cool 2009 ballet performance to this track by the Parrish School of Performing Arts - extra special.

  • The soaring, wild, interplay between Young's voice and Shaw's Guitar gives me chills.

  • underrated band for sure, sounds awesome on vinyl!

  • I could see the chick who danced in the Car's video for "Why Can't I Have You" doing the video for this one- hot!.

  • Does anyone know the chords for this song from when Dennis first starts singing?

  • This is my favorite Styx song. And I LOVE styx

  • Ballerina.. It's one of the most beautiful Styx songs.

  • mid 70's.......sunday afternoon.......doing homework........listening to Anne Nightingale playing this....marvelous!!!........thanks Annie and thank you Styx

  • I'm glad it was never released as a single, for my friend Lambros...RIP buddy.

  • I don't think this song was released as a single, was it? If not, it should have been! It's so beautiful... and it even rocks in the end!

  • Great album. Tommy Shaw wrote the title track. He joined the band on this album.

  • STYX---''CLAIRE DE LUNE/BALLERINA''

  • Claire De' Lune~~~~Stxy made it so sexy..:)

  • probably their best song ever....a masterpiece...I always liked more Styx over Journey, Foreigner, Kansas...among these kind of bands they are N.1!

  • I was like I needed a long song to listen to and my mom listed off this as the second and its pretty good

  • ohh! how lovely! I'm a dancer my self and i think my dearest fantasy is to dance with Barishnakov to THIS song.

  • This is one of my favorite songs of Dennis' Such a sad but sweet song. One of the few songs that actually makes me cry.

  • Saw this band in Sept 76 just before release of this great album. I personally had never heard of these guys. They were the 1st band onstage at a Black Oak Arkansas/Montrose Concert. These guys wern't even on the ticket or the bill. I was there to see Montrose. (Sammy Hager had left the band unfortunately) I left after 2 or 3 BOA tunes. Montrose was ok But Styx made them all Look silly. This tune was the Highlight of the Night. The Tommy/James guitar duel was awesome.

  • such a beautiful song it makes me warm inside :)

  • Aw mayn, this song alwayz makes me cry :'(

It was played at ma nans funeral last may, because she used to play it on piano 4 me and ma twin.

  • I used to date a ballerina, this song is bittersweet.

  • @Gofboats reading that, well it was poetry.

  • The dueling solos between J.Y. and Tommy are insane! Starting at 5:10.

  • you guys trying to "put me On" ? lol great album,,followed by other keepers..paradise..

  • @eyeballs50 lol nice one.

  • You're right, MrDoctorX : These guitar solos are the band's Hotel California. I get a high every time I hear this song. DDY has a beautiful voice. And JY and TS are just our guitar heroes ! What a turn on. What is above the sound of an electric guitar ? What, except God and... ?

  • @LaLoba64 Fucking "A"!

  • Dance for me... I beg of you... dance for me

Dance for me... ballerina... dance for me...

  • What a guitar solo !!! Fantastic...

  • OHHH crud I forgot this in the first albums .. how naughty of me .. styx styx II serpent man best of crystal equinox .. dang unforgivable .. its the best album they made from my point of view .. and teh albums upto and including equinox are teh best songs styx ever did. after that they are still great but never on par with these albums... in my opinion anyway.

  • hola , luis pedro mty mex mi favorita de styx especial creci con styx ,,,,,,,,,

ballerina ,,, imaginacion grande bravo styx bravo, imaginacion

    bravo

    bravo por JENNIFER......

    BRAVO JENNIFER

  • My all-time favorite Styx album- the entire disc is a masterpiece & upbeat. DeYoung was a genious, composing a "themed" track to Debussy's fabled classical piece. The intro of the six(or 12?) string acoustic guitars at 2:55 are the best- almost a folk "appalachian" sounding interlude.

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!

  • Comment removed

  • ..."dance for me, I beg of you, dance for me"!

  • best part! 2:55 it comes alive...the solos are this bands hotel california in my opinion. awesome work! hard to pick the BEST styx song but this may be it.

  • I love that song; perfect end to arguably my favorite Styx CD

  • the song is very good

  • (From a long-time Styx fan): this is one of my favorite albums from them, as it includes both the group's rock tracks & Dennis DeYoung's "romantisized" compositions he like to write(like 1972's "Lady"). He performs Debussy's "Clair De Lune" on his solo "Music Of Styx w/ Symphony Orchestra" CD.

  • DeYoung's intro. to Clair De Lune on the "Music Of Styx" Cd states that this actually was his father's favorite piece of classical music- during the war, his father was stationed in Holland, staying with a family- their oldest son was a concert piano performer & he played it often for DeYoung's father.

  • i agree, this is the best song which Styx recorded, I've seen it live several times.

  • Best song Styx ever did.

  • Best song Styx ever did...? Um, no.

  • kick ass bro !! awesome track.

  • Muy bien, un clásico que no debe faltar en Youtube! Gracias!!

Very well, a classic that does not have to lack in Youtube! Thanks!
