it is very sad the type of crapy music the kids are being raised on these days it is all noise except for the easy listening type ballads and love songs the rest is trash if you ask me . this is real music that you can understand and clap your hands and sing along with . and most of the old childrens music is great as well and the kind of kids music is all about love and shooting that is a terrible way to raise a kid at least there is youtube to come back to real music thank you
When the 1960's losses it flavor with me, 50's Rock And Roll still never losses it flavor with me. When the 1970's losses it flavor with me,50's Rock And Roll never losses it's flavor with me. When the 1980's losses it's flavor with me,50's Rock And Roll never losses it's flavor with me.
This is the epitome of what all music 1955 to present is all about. There were two Billboard periods in modern world music history. 1890 to 1954 and 1955 to present. All music had been rewritten in 1955.Imagine that.
My taste in music was formed during the 70's. A lot of what my parents listened to was 50's era rock. I loved it upon hearing it and I still do today.
Hmmmm ... this was performed when I was still in my mothers womb, and released when my father was still a twinkle in my grandfathers eye .. nothing beats these classics... ROCKABILLY FOR LIFE!!! :D
Most of todays rock is trash and sounds horrible with no taste, I'm only 15 and I listen to music from th 80's and under. The 50's is one of the greatest rock eras.
All Elvis was king of was king pain in the arse. His way of covering things made them so bad Im suprised the orginal artists didn't killl him. Besides all he ever did was cover other peoples songs, and on the rare occasion that he had an original written for him he had his name tagged on so he'd get royalties for that as well.
A bit harsh. Elvis was the King of style, cool, pop and undoubtedly a massive influence on all who came after him. You are right he was not a songwriter but his covers made big mone for people who otherwise would have been really struggling and thanked him for his efforts - as did those who Bill covered. Bill was the REAL deal an original songwriter who shaped music forever BUT he was never going to be the movie star pop idol who gave attitude and cool to the new born music.
You dodn't have to like Elvis but it is hard to deny his influence - not all of which was for the good - after all he bred (WELL the COLONEL did - the Simon Cowell of the 50's and 60's)) the teen idols of pop who still sh** all over decent music.
I remember seeing him live on german TV show "Rockpalast" when I was about 10. Quite funny because the contemporary music was definately different in 1979/80/81 or whichever year that was. Can somebody confirm this Rockpalast performance?
most young people today in general are ignorant, but i know a few tweens who appreciate older music and wish today's music had more of the spirit that music from the past had.
I've just spotted a mate of mine in the crowd towards the end! Is it the Royalty, it looks like it but it was nearly 30 years ago so confirmation would be nice!
This was the first night of Bill's 'comeback' tour. He hadn't worked in the UK since 1976. I was there and can say the night was spectacular!! Bill was over the moon at the reception he got. People went crazy that night!Haley had a lot of press coverage on that tour.
A fantastic performance. Any rock "historians" who claim Haley was washed up by 1979 have simply never seen this clip, nor any of the other 1979-vintage peformances posted to Youtube in recent months. The only think washed up in this clip is Haley's spit-curl which self-destructs! Check out that dancer on the floor with the huge black eye!
Good to see The King Of Rock 'n' Roll Bill Haley, and The Comets, giving it all to the audience as always! Saw them live in concert in Bournemouth,1979,it was THE BEST : )
What a great music! I love Bill Haley. He is simply the best. Unfortunately, he never got the honour and recognition he really deserved. Long live Rock'n'Roll.
