How many tribes are there in Ethiopia? If we were to go into some areas of the Appalachian mountains, we would find some very interesting customs among some of the whites living in that area. Would what this small segment of people do compel us to say that this is representative of America, generally? If not, why would it for a very small segment of Ethiopia?

This is a very general statement. If you were to drill down on what these persons mean by their statement of adverse aspects of tribalism relative to the entry of white people, I'm sure you would discover they will tell you that whites exploit and instigate problems when they determine tribal differences. They have and continue to practice such techniques throughout Africa. The "bad thing" is when Africans allow whites to do this.

They say tribes WARING with other tribes is a behavior learned from whites and that tribes were all peaceful before they met settlers. According to them the white man influenced the tribes to be war like.-Which is bullshit. The white man may have done his damage to Africa but he didn't introduce death and distruction to it.
