I can agree with your description, except that the mind of the person IS the person.

So if that's what you're saying I agree with you.

  • @howdytheresir

If the above is such a "beautiful description" why did you make this video?

It describes holy spirit as being the inner person of God. That description would also apply to humans, since we are described as having an "inner person" and yet we are not a duality. That inner person is who we really are on the inside, our thoughts, feelings revealed by our actions.

Other than that I agree with good ole Ivan.

  • @nibornagrom Your comments in the past have been VERY disrespectful (like you're my disciplinarian)so if you're going to comment keep it respectful or you will be blocked. There are many ways to describe God's spirit as well as many texts to ponder.I have no idea why you asked why I made this video..to convey the information that is in this video, obviously. Do you believe the spirit is impersonal like the WT teaches?I would say it's highly personal.

  • @howdy

Sorry. Didn't mean to be disrespectful.

I wasn't referring to your vid. I was making reference to the comment by ryzhrv62h (Why does it have to be an Icelandic or droid name? It's so hard to type, much less pronounce.)

I like that description also. But it doesn't seem to agree with your video. I was wondering how you could say it was a beautiful description when it seems to contradict your video.

    That's all I was saying.

Maybe 500 ltrs make me sound terse.

    Respectful all the way.

  • @nibornagrom Hey that's cool..but notice I said IN THE PAST you'd been. And you were.Considering I tried to make it as clear as I possibly could in both these vids I've done on the spirit how dynamic and indescribable it is,hopefully you can understand why BOTH one description then another can also be said of it.And you didn't answer..Do you think like the WT does that it is impersonal?

  • @howdytheresir

I would have to say that since I believe God's spirit is the power by which he interacts with all things, I would say it is very personal to God and his creation, but it is not A person.

I don't mean to belittle your belief in any way. I hope you understand that?

It's just that the Icelandic persons comment seems to be in opposition to a Trinitarian belief in the Holy Spirit.

  • @nibornagrom So do you think it's right that the WT frequently calls it "impersonal" with no qualification?Wouldn't that suggest to the JW's something that isn't true?ryzhrv62h isn't a trinitarian.

  • @howdytheresir

I'm big on contextual comparison. Taking into consideration how the Greek and Hebrew words are defined and the context in which they are used, the Bible would either contradict itself or not make any sense if I believed Holy Spirit is a person.

The HS is never personalized in Scripture. It is described anthropomorphically as is Jehovah himself.

The WT did not originate this idea. It's been argued over for hundreds of years.

It will take God to eventually sort things out.

  • @nibornagrom I didn't ask if it was a person..I asked it it was personal. You agreed it was before,so I guess I'm still wondering about the question I asked that you didn't answer.Namely,if you think it's appropriate for the WT to identify something so personal as impersonal(without qualification)?I think they do it because they deny most JW's from being sealed with it,and so intentionally depersonalize it to an extent.

  • @nibornagrom which actually leads to another question..what right does any man/"elite" religious leader have to tell a Christian man or woman that God's spirit only bears witness to a literal few privileged ones that they are born of God?Esp. considering scripture says anyone who has faith in Christ is.

  • @howdy

I believe the descriptions of the holy spirit in the Watchtower. Before I was a Jehovah's Witness I was Catholic. I studied many religions and spiritual practices. JW's were only one. I determined through study and logic on my own, that the Trinity is false. After making as thorough a study as possible, and determining the Bible was from God, I determined that JW's were closet to Biblical Christianity I was going to find.

If you want to know if I believe the WT, yes, I do.

  • @nibornagrom So who exactly are you born of?The bible ALSO says you have ONE high priest and mediator. The WT doesn't teach this.Christ told his bride to be ready, never qualifying he meant a couple men in a publishing corporation.I wouldn't slumber because of the WT.If you aren't in Christ,he conveys in every way possble there's no hope for you.

  • @nibornagrom The WT says you cannot be born of God.And that Christ was hardly ever talking to you and that you can't even partake of his sacrifice which means that you exercise faith.Christ never says there are ANY Christians who can't abide in or rule with him.Would Abraham have listened to men who said he couldn't had he lived after Christ and not questioned them as if their literature is truth?

  • @nibornagrom The little flock are Jews. The other sheep are gentiles. There aren't two hopes for Christians.God said there was one.I'm not saying

Christians won't ever be in heaven but I think eternally the residence will be an earthly one.

  • @howdy

Unless you're questioning your belief system, there's little reason for us to discuss this. I believe as every other JW. I do not put my faith in any man. There are no 'elite' leaders in the Christian congregation.

The Bible clearly teaches that people are anointed with God's spirit for the purpose of being kings and priest in heaven, much as the kings of Israel were anointed with oil. It also teaches that there will be those ruled over on earth.

Can't change what the Bible says.

  • @nibornagrom Interesting that you say you believe the spirit is personal but that you believe the WT..that's a contradiction..There are two groups in scripture..the Jews and the Gentiles.Either the gentiles are grafted in as spiritual Jews or they aren't Christian. There are two choices..either be a child of God(a spiritual Jew) or a child of Satan.

  • "[t]he Holy Spirit's personality is lacking in the NT, yet this is frequently, if not usually, the first line of defense of that doctrine by many evangelical writers. But if grammar cannot legitimately be used to support the Spirit's personality, then perhaps we need to reexamine the rest of our basis for this theological commitment"- Daniel B. Wallace Trinitarian Professor at Theological Dallas Seminary

  • @rYzHrV62H I think that's a beautiful description.
