  • 20 guys were drunk , or they were 20 lang lang fan accounts

  • Probably Lisztomania too. There's a wikipedia article on it.

  • Sin duda la canción más hermosa

  • This was one of the first pieces I learned to play (obviously much simplified!) and hearing it again makes me really, really miss my piano :(

  • Liebestraum 3 is one of the prettiest pieces I've ever heard. It's marvellous!

  • 19 people are deaf

  • @1318991

no... Those 19 people were deaf AND stupid...

  • @Lightena Probably not deaf. They most likely had Stendhal Syndrome. They were so overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the piece and Evgeny's interpretation that in their psychosomatic convulsions or hallucination, they inadvertently clicked the wrong button.

  • Great song i am learning it to.

  • It's impossible to not like this!!! How do ears of those 19 people work?

  • this piece obviously describes a couple making love ^^

  • quick story: I'm rather resourceful and I can usually find my music for free. So I was searching for Kissin's int. of the Liebestraume and couldn't find it. There were two other versions I found for free on the internet... and I went on iTunes and purchased this interpretation. To date, this is the only file I've ever purchased from iTunes.

  • Now I can finally go to sleep...

  • asdfghjkl;''no words

  • Kissin is an amazingly pianist. Some say he play too strict/clean. He is full of feelings in my opinion. Kissin for mozart and lizst. Zimerman for Chopin.

  • It's very very beautiful! Felicitation for the pianist!!!...

  • Evgeny Kissin is better then Lang Lang! :)

  • @qwertyasdyaln of course he is! no need to compare master and student

  • Daang I didn't expect to get top coment lol!

  • @tjtheplay Rofl thumbs down...

  • Comment removed

  • Just perfectly played.

  • This is the main classical song I want to learn one day. But this guy makes me look like I'll never be good enough! This is just beautiful.

  • i don't know.. but i love lang lang's version more! it's not about his 'dance' or anything... i just love how LL's interpretation touches my heart deeply! no offence!

  • this is awesome! but honestly..... i like LL's version more!

  • greatest pianist ever.

  • I guess you got to have a bad ass hair style to be pro!

  • @Archingtwinn1 Well, sadly for me, its not enough :-(

  • I don't know why he's living with his mother. With those skills there should be a 10 mile long line of women at his house.

  • @Dan474834 It may just be that he's close with his mother. If he hasn't met anyone, then staying with family frees up time for him to practice.

  • @Icetor01 Would you date him?

  • @Dan474834 I think the two - his music and his love life - are separate issues. I meant before that he's probably more focused on his music right now and doesn't have time for anything else. I don't think there's anything wrong with that - just listen to the results!

  • @Icetor01 Would you date him?

  • @Dan474834 You're asking me to make that decision based on a 6 minute clip? I think anyone making that decision would first have to meet him.

  • @Icetor01 Oh come on, I bet you would. I'd be gay for this dude... The talent is just overwhelming.

  • @Dan474834 This is not about talent, this is about experience. And soul.

  • Kissin and Brendel are the best pianists alive. Liszt, needless to say, was the best pianist to have ever lived.

  • nice hair bro

  • I think he played the note passage and 2:40 a bit to harsh, you don't need to hit us over the head with it XDD , just back off a little and that it ^w^

    Good job anyways~

  • Evgeny Kissin is the Eraserhead.

  • Divine

  • Lang who?

  • the hair...

  • this guy needs to get his interpretation on itunes!

  • oh! this is REALLY beautiful!

  • Interesting, Kissin error at 1:41, but nobody noticed. But that´s ok, a simple mistake...

  • @Dihelson a negligible mistake

  • @Dihelson What do you mean by "no body noticed" ? would somebody jump out of their seat and be like, "aha! nice try buddy!"

  • @Dihelson We noticed, but it doesn't really detract from the piece. I mean, we're not really judging him on technical perfection here. It's Liebestraeume, you know? he's all soul here.

  • I still think that Rubinstein's performance of this piece is the best

  • Love him!

  • has anyone ever heard of multiple eargasm?? cus that's what I just had :O

  • if i could choose, i'd wanna to play like him

  • i don't understand why people dislike this!:(

    bloody idiots...

  • Doesn't require a highly advanced technique like most other Liszt pieces, but what does make this piece rather difficult is playing it musically well. To let the melody sing out from the other notes is difficult to master at first.

  • @percussionist624 It requires similar technique to the perhaps better known (and in my honest, however unusual, opinion, easier) Chopin Etude no 3 Op 10 in E with the very controlled touch techniques - both are great pieces and show great ability because having such a delicate yet masterful touch to bring the melody out while having such a beautiful accompaniment is what sets certain pianists above others.

  • @percussionist624 hmm i've been playing this piece for a while and i found it quite easy to let the melody sing out from the other notes. i really want to say that it's "technically easy but hard because you have to induce the emotions" blahblah, etc. but it cant be denied that its a pretty easy piece lol (compared to other Liszt's pieces of course)

  • lol, Liebestraum is advanced level..maybe not highly advanced like other pieces by liszt, but for sure advanced! I hope u dont think its easy

  • @percussionist624 because I naturally have great interpretive expression, I find it easy to get this piece to "sing", but those cadenzas make this piece a drag, I'm setting them off for later to learn :P

  • @percussionist624 isn't what you are describing as not technical the most technical thing of all?

  • Evgeny Kissin playing the piano softly, i had to watch this.

  • Best interpretations: Rubinstein and Barere!

  • this is seriously the best i have ever heard this beautiful piece played - percfect feel for the melody, and GREAT timing + dynamics ... as i listened to this, time just stopped for me, then time fast forwarded as the piece finished ... fantastic :D well done you :):)

  • @grantyboy1007

    totally agree with you

timing + dynamics feel the 3 part of the piece: the thinking of the dream before falling asleep, the dream and the fight not to get awake, the awake and return to reality. No one else around seems to take care about the plot of the opera

  • @ggion thank you - u have a very good understanding of music, do you play piano as well or just love to listen to great musicians? :)

  • Ah bueno!!!No sabia que estaba en el cielo y que un angel tocaba el piano.

  • why is it that when Evgeny Kissin plays a piece he always makes it seem twice as difficult and twice as beautiful?

  • The song gives me goosebumps, chills, and turns my stomach inside out with excitement. Unreal..

  • Pieces such as this are so beautiful and for someone to express this emotion, in my opinion, as well as this, truely are unbelievable..... it just makes you remember how incredible Franz Lisz was to actually compose something which, without a doubt, touches everyones hearts

  • keepin' it real with the mad hair-doo! -the song is good too... :3

  • HOLY CRAP!! THE ALIENS HAVE LANDED!!!

  • Kissin wins the best Liebestraum interpretation but Lang Lang wins the best interpretative dance while playing this piece with kissin in second place.

  • @tjtheplay SO REDICULOUS BY TRUE REMEMBER LANG LANG GOT BETTER FACIALS TOO

  • @tjtheplay I've just learnt this piece, I try and play it like Kissin, but dance like Lang Lang

  • @tjtheplay Kissin's afro says it all

  • @tjtheplay you like seeing a dance or listening to one of the most beautiful melodies ever composed?I prefere to hear kissin,I'm not into dancing

  • @felipevollkopf I'm also not into dancing either. I also prefer to hear Kissin.

I think that Lang Lang over does it to try to impress people. However, they're both incredible pianists even though I REALLY dislike Lang Lang.

  • @tjtheplay same, true

  • I think they should create a 'like more than anything else' button just for this video.

  • Kissin es de los mejores pianistas que han existido!

  • When I listen to this piece, I have the need of love

  • This wakes up Stendhal syndrome.

  • If I could only play 1 minute of this piece, I wouldn't even care having is haircut

  • @howtoplayitsa Or if I could grow his hair cut, I would'nt even care to play the hole piece ;) love both...

  • he is the best pianist :)

  • woow favorite interpretation yet ... this tops it ... woow .. so clean and he draws you into the music its terrific

  • 1:32 - 1:45... amazing. how is he able to make it sound like that?

  • @bjjguru emphasize the melody.

  • @bjjguru 1st ) he is a professional therefore great in pedaling 2nd ) its top quality concert piano - even when you play notes simultaneously you can barely hear them blend together

  • My favorite interpretation of my favorite piece from my favorite composer by my favorite pianist!

  • Didn't know Kramer could play the piano that good.

  • Favorite interpretation! 5 STARS!

  • when i grow up i wanna be him :D

  • better than lang lang.

  • @JoinThaBrawl no doubt

  • deeply

  • Grande interprete!!!!! Meraviglioso questo brano suonato così!!!

  • my favorite piece of Lizt, thank for this excellent interpretation

  • I can't say that it's my favourite version of the piece...

He doesn't stress some notes intensively enough for my taste- Horowitz does the same thing with Chopin-i think. He plays more emotionally, and not so intense

PS The piece is my favourite throuhout the whole history of music- up to 1/6/2011

  • @kosamf

What happened on that particular day?

  • @joshwhalen17

Nothing- it's just the day of the comment..... (i thought that i might listen sth better in the future, but i can't see it coming)

  • @kosamf

My mistake, sir or madam. I misread the date in question. I thought something magnificent occurred on January sixth of this year.

America: doing trivial things differently from other countries else since 1776.

  • This is the best I've heard Kissen play in terms of feeling and expression. While he has always had an impressive command of the piano, I've always thought that finding the best interpretation has eluded him.

  • It's great comparing this version to the one he played when he was a teenager and listening to how his feelings toward this piece changed.

  • BRAVO!!! I got teary eyed there!!! *sniff sniff*

  • Amazing... His rubato and feel is just spot on!

  • I was inspired by this performance.

  • he's a master.

  • He plays this wonderfullyu

  • I wish I could play piano as fluently as that. <3

  • this version is soooooooo good !!!!

  • How come you guys are all against asians?

  • It's Susan Boyle's son!

  • Evgeny Kissin, I need you!

  • This music is fabulous! Congratulations! Excellent ! Diese Musik ist einfach klasse! Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Ausgezeichnet ! Cette musique est fabuleuse ! Félicitation ! Excellent ! !!!! :D

  • Very beautiful!

  • 10 People mean that they can play better ^^

  • i wonder what he's saying

  • best part 0:00 - 5:46

  • @trompeta2

    this music touches the heart

  • @zecarlosorganist agreedd!

  • magnifique!!!!!!!!!!!!vraiment magnifique!!!!!!!!cest le reve d'amour le plus joli dans le monde entier!!franchement bravo!!!!!!!!!

  • @ThePwnage96 Never have I had to endure as much bullcrap as I did when I read your comment.

  • @ThePwnage96 You have to learn to listen to music. 100000 people say this is good and you say it's bad. Just don't talk, but listen and learn friend...

  • Very cool. I was learning that song but too hard got my level

  • This, my friends, is what you call an eargasm!

  • I think arguing about Lang Lang perfomance of this piece is useless, art goes beyond Lang Lang, Kissing or even Liszt, its about a mystical connection between your soul and the emotions that the artist can giv with his playing, just think about how magical is that something so physical as pressing keys to make sound (Scientist Speaking) can make you cry or take your heart in your hand.

Sorry about my English, I am Chilean.

  • @FelipeTrujilloBilbao Exactly right! The only real purpose of music is to enjoy it. I always think people go to far trying to decide who's perfecter. If someone misses a note it doesn't make the slightest difference. I can still enjoy the music and that's what matters. People need to relax and just enjoy.

ps- Why are there more comments on Lang Lang than on the video here LOL

  • @WildeJagd1 The purpose of music is to find beauty. I think.

  • It Is the best performance, noone in you tube play it like the work have to be.....Thank you Kissin...

  • perfect®

  • Kissin rocks your socks!

  • oh my god this is beautiful

  • He is very good.I still think Fazil Say is the Best.

  • a master of the keys. Truly inspirational!

  • speechlesss

  • wow, that performance was breathtaking! And it's difficult to get that effect over a video, but i felt it.

  • Amazing! he has the same distinct facial expressions as from he was a youngster playing. What a brilliant artist!

  • thumbs up if you saw this encore at his Liszt recital!

  • @aa7mit the entire concert- and all three encores: completely breathtaking. he is my favorite musician of all time. i am still starstruck and speechless :] <3

  • I just saw him play this piece tonight. I was familiar with this piece, but was not aware that it was Liszt (I think I've heard it in several films). So, I did not expect to hear it played for the final (3 in total) encore of an all Liszt recital. I nearly cried hearing it. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful concert. The melody was singing in my head the entire train ride home.

  • el mejor de todos saludos desde colombia

  • He plays beautifully but this applause is still the applause for Franz Liszt...

  • i dont like his playing

    i dont know why...

  • Gorgeous!

  • now i'm gonna learn this piece to catch girls

  • @GetKey13 good luck...it's sooo hard. I tried for six months and couldn't get past the second page. Beautiful, but awful to play!

  • @GetKey13 i'd say depend on what girls you're trying to catch..

for some girls, this can be enough.. for some this will NOT be enough..

  • kissin & fazil say are far better than lang lang.. lang is like machine no soul

  • wow liszt

  • Why do people post Lang Lang's performance everywhere? His performance has been blamed for very bad. Doesn't he feel any shame?

Kissin is much more better than him.

  • En mi opinion, de las mejores interpretaciones que he escuchado, el feeling que le pone!!

  • i won't cry i won't cry!!!!!!!!!

  • He's brilliant, but why when I look at his hair do I expect him to be naked and grinning at the camera? Damn you Monty Python, you have tainted my memories forever!

  • @cainster lol! thats funny as hell!

  • Lang Lang plays it more like Liszt would play it himself.

  • I love how all you retards on youtube think you have even the slightest bit of qualification to comment on concert pianists' performances.

  • @jemokjemok i agree

  • i agree, Lang Lang really doesn't compare to Kissin...

  • i cant stand all the people that dont like Kissin, this is Awesome, there is something wrong with all of their ears, or else theyre jealous because theyre not as amazing

  • In my last comment I made a mistake. Now is correct:

Another great Liebestraum n.3 is the one played by Alicia de larrocha. I highly and heartly recomend it!!!!. You can find it in You Tube: "Liebestraum (No. 3) - Alicia de Larrocha, Hispavox, Late 1950s / Early 1960s - Liszt"

  • geniaaa!!

  • It's all in the hair...

  • @alexnoobdelta Haha what a loser. Thumbs up whore

  • Another great Liszt's Lieberstraum 3 is the one played by Alicia de Larrocha. You can find it in You tube. I hardly recomend it!!!!!!!

  • God! If i played like this!!! Love it!!!

  • kissin is one of few pianists, even professional world-class pianists, who truly has the necessary fire and flare to play liszt.

  • The melody was so Germanic, and the difficulty so Liszt, and the performance so sublime. Simply beautiful.

  • @JazzAce340 Thanks for an incredibly beautiful and profound comment. I agree with you. An artist can only truly express and convey when there is an inner world to them...a real artist only speaks about what is inside. And not everybody is nurtured by beauty, love, despair, every part of human experience by turns sad and sweet. Nietzsche said that it is necessary to have chaos within in order to be able to place a star in heaven. So true, chaos precedes creation.

  • Some weeks ago, i thought i was a good pianist, but now i know that i'm nothing.

i think there are some people with the skills to play this, but i don't think anybody will can compose somthing this hard and this beautiful ever. if liszt was alive, and if he heard me trying to play this, for sure i would kill him again.

sorry for my english, just tried to share this with you all.

  • 6 people. Really? Out of all of the songs in the world, and you dislike this one?

I cried a minute and a half into the song.....

    Just amazing.
