  • En dit filmpje moet ons doen geloven dat het allemaal verantwoord is? Het is verschrikkelijk, het is zielig. Bontboeren zijn sadisten. (En de Engelse uitspraak kan ook wat beter.)

    *English translation*

This film is supposed to make us believe it is al justyfied? It's terrible, it's sad. Fur farmers are sadistic. (And the English pronunciation should be better.)

  • Amazing. You give them water and food. How ethical. Why don't we keep you in wire cages, without the ability to do anything natural to your species, to gas you and make luxury articles out of you? Since the highest ethical standards will be met, you will surely be fed. So you can be skinned later on. Oh, humanity, will you ever learn?

  • the truth , the truth, the truth....

lol I didn't saw a video with a lie (except the farmers speaking of course) but there are atleast 1,000 videos all over the media about the "truth" lol.

Its not that we were manipulated

  • the condition of animals in fur farms in china is much worse, apparently they r skinned alive and thrown in bloody piles and among the carcasses of the skinless animals some of them are still gasping for breath :'(

  • i hope you fur wearers someday get skinned alive for your stupid flesh. humans are scum of the earth, go peta.!

  • @normalguyable you have got to be FUCKING kidding me

  • there would be no discussion if it was a rat fur video..

  • LIERS, LIERS........YOUR PANTS ARE ON FIRE!!!!!!! WE HAVE VIDEOS FILMED ON DENMARK, NORWAY AND SWEDEN.............THEY ARE NOTHING LIKE THIS. I CAN'T POST THEM HERE BECAUSE YOUTUBE DOES NOT ALLOW POSTING LINKS BUT VISIT MY SITE ANTIFURSOCIETY -- DOT -- ORG AND YOU WILL SEE.

  • Very impressed to see the conditions these animals are housed in. Visited a chicken farm the other day...now that was shocking.

  • I'm not sure how anyone can think that keeping an animal that is meant to run and burrow in a tiny cage is "ok" because they are "domesticated".

Regardless of how they are killed, they are still killed.

Peta or no Peta... if people stopped wearing fur, these animals would not be slaughtered.

  • there is NO humane fur. Not ever.

  • Animals needs more than just food and water to have a good welfare. To be honest, I get more upset by watching EFBAs videos than PETAs :/

  • @TehLinding // are you sure Peta films are real ? are you sure minks are skinned alive in EU farms? yes ? prove it then !! post on Youtube YOUR film !! minimum brain would be to visit a fur farm, instead of .. watching films :)

  • @meandme1947

When did I say animals were skinned alive in EU farms? This video is enought to see how bad the animals are threate. Anyone that have ever had a pet or have studied animals behavior should know that an animal can't be happy in such a small cage, they need excercise and mental stimulation. What are the minks supposed to to when they are not sleeping, drinking or eating, if I may ask? Performing stereotype and other unnatural behaviour that for humans would be consider pathological?

  • @TehLinding My mouse is in a small cage and he is as happy as he would be outside. Probably happier. No hawks, eagles, cats, dogs, other rodents, disease, freezing temps, no lawnmowers. In fact, I'd say he prefers being locked up in a tiny cage.

  • @ItachiSanslover

I doubt you keep your mouse in such a small cage (compared to the animals size) than the mink farmers do. And I do think you have some toys for it as well. So its probably not as bad as the minks cages. I doubt he is happy thought, since mouses are not supposed to live alone! I agree that there are benefits too for the animals that are in human care, but it they are getting mental problems from their enviroment I doubbt they are happy. You wouldn't keep a cat this way so why mink?

  • @TehLinding Proportionally the mink's cage is bigger. No toys, he burrows in his bedding. Sure mice aren't supposed to live alone, but minks are solitary creatures that, when given the chance, try to kill each other. I highly doubt they have minds enough to even get mental problems. They run on instinct not thought. Of course I wouldn't keep a cat that way, they are feline and animals that generally roam about. Mink are part of the rodent family and live in burrows a.k.a. a cage.

  • @ItachiSanslover

Ehm, yes they do get mental problems. Thats exactly was problem behaviors like sterotypical behavour and cannibalism is! It seams to me like you don't know much about ethology or what kind of animals minks are for that matter. Minks are NOT rodents, they are carnivores. The same order like cat and dog, and belongs to the Mustelidae family. They have the need to hunt, and also they keep a big territorys at several kilometers near the water in the wild.

  • Wait a minute, this video is a joke, right? The happy music as they pan the camera past foot by foot cages of animals standing with their delicate feet on crap covered raw wire? The only defense being "they don't know any other life" and then showing a baby fox lying on chicken wire as if that's humane? I think the reason I hate the fur industry more than other animal torture industries is that they are really the most far gone. Seriously, all this exploitation and death for a stupid coat?

  • @arphilo Completely true.

  • Go To hell all of you. There is NO such thing as humane fur farm. Nothing abt this is humane. Chocking an innocent animal is never humane.

  • Duuuuuuuuuuuuh ultimate point we do not need fur that is why it's a cruel waste of a life and a lame and dirty fashion accessory- those things were shitting all over each other in their mesh cages- where else do you think it goes? In the toilet? Nice, they pretend to care about animal welfare- we're not stupid (at least some of us) and keeping a wild animal in a tiny cage just so you can strip it off it's own skin is inhumane without defence.

  • these bastards should be broiled alive, as for the chinks in china they should be skinned and broiled alive.

  • They may be fed and given water, but still spending years in a cage and then killed at a young age... A slightly luckier death row prisoner

  • Better conditions than most pets I see...

  • @ColdBloodedLadyJ ha which pets exactly?

  • im glad to see a farm that cares for welfare. however it is still pointless. who needs fur?

  • still i feel sad those Mink have no idea that they will be gassed and made into fur coats and how is wearing dead animal skins considered fashion? it's irritating

  • Yeah, yeah. PETA is awful. So is waiting for death in a tiny cage your entire life.

  • animals look in very good health and theyre kept in almost better conditions than you would keep a beloved pet rabbit i dont see why people have such a problem with this if they didn't care about the animals welfare they wouldn't have all the stuff they have for them

also bugs me that there's starving kids in the world but none of these peta asses give a shit about that and find it perfectly ok to put well kept animals not being killed before them just because theyre cute and fluffy.go to hell

  • @Ivory648 hmmm all those starving children could probably have eaten animals raised for food instead of fur but oh well

  • @Ivory648 Imagine all the food we could grow on the land used to farm animals and feed animals... you know, for the starving kids you care so much about.

  • @arphilo your statement is correct for animals bred for meat. Animals bred for fur take up a fraction of the space a meat farm would. Also, a mink or fox farm runs off societies waste, the animals all consume meat, eggs and dairy not fit for human consumption - fur farms get rid of waste. The waste they do create is used as animal feed, pet food, organic compost, fertilizer, paint and tires, crop fertiliser and their fat is turned into oil to manufacture soap, cosmetics and leather preservative

  • I have been in those farms, and the rats die beautifully and without pain, also they are raised for that purpose as Chickens for their eggs...

  • @StefanFRably wow they're not even rats good research

  • @lioxoda Take your turn, find a seat and wait until I take care about your opinion.

  • HAHAHAH funniest video i've ever seen. 'they were born here this is what the are used to'

yes, a battery chicken is used to her tiny cage but i can guarantee she doesn't like it! Fur is a massive waste of time, faux fur looks just as good and NO ANIMAL WAS KILLED.

'they get food and water' WOAH LUXERY, they are lucky mink, i wish i could live in a cage for 1/4 of my natural life and then be gassed and skinned!!!

Plus those cages looks horrible. this video is BULL

  • @Helidono Let's put you in a cage where you're protected, fed and warm and with nothing to do but wait for death and see how you like it. Idiot.

  • Das ist doch alles nur Propaganda von der Pelzindustrie!

Die Wahrheit sieht ganz anders aus!

    Drop fur drop dead!

  • PETA kills 97% of the animalss it takes in!! Hell, they kill more animals each year than some fur farms do!! HYPCORITES!! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!

  • @Scrap5000 not every vegan or antifur activist supports PETA.

I'm myself vegan and antifur and I fucking hate PETA.

  • @Suplicio101 so you are against killing any living thing?

  • @Suplicio101 yes I am

  • You people should be quite and continue doing what you are so proud of doing but without bragging about your farm, please do not try to show off your pathetic video in the attempt to convince people that you are any better then the Chinese fur factories...the outcome is exactly the same! Sorry you do not trick me nor the 10 people who just watched this next to me right now!

  • ! If I were you I would be silent rather then try to appear intelligent and educated by throwing a speech which in fact reveals you are quite the opposite!Transparency? The only think that is transparent about watching this video and hearing you speak is that you are trying to master the art of disguised! Yes disguise the real truth with an apparent idyllic video!

  • And Miss Hossay what would happen if all law, for us included , would be ONLY based on scientific facts? Beside which scientific facts are you talking about? And what has science to do with you breeding animals for the only purpose of skinning them to dress spoiled women up? Do you actually even know what you are talking about?

  • Or is it the apparent "hygienic" environment? This animals live in small metal cages in which they cannot even run in, their paws have to "stand" ALL DAY on thin metal bars! Are you guys serious? And Miss Hossay you want legislation to be based on scientific ground and not on emotions? Really?

  • Oh yes this looks great and quite clean indeed! Yes it seems you guys are quite humane! Great job...certainly better then the chinese farms...skinned alive animals...or perhaps you all use the same exact procedure!? But what is so beautiful about your farm fur? The nice music background you are trying to hide the animal DESPERATION with??!

  • That is bla bla bla...

Animals are kep in the proper form?? Minks are semi aquatic animals! and look what they are staying on! They need to run, to swim, to have normal behaviours! At the contrary, as you can check it in this report : w w w. granjasdevisones .e s / animals develop stereotyped behaviour, they go mad!! They practise cannibalim, automutilation!!

Nobody, no animal deserve to be in jail and to die.

free animals, let them in peace. GO VEGAN!

  • suprising that they don't show how these animals are killed...this video is full of crap... people who don't see that are in denial... end of story

  • For the people who say gassing is inhumane.. no method of killing is really humane but this one is the closest. They use CO gas.. which put you unconcious and kills you. Humans suicide using this.. therefore it's a little better than all the other methods. Another "advantage" of this is that the animals don't see the others being killed so they're not as distressed. Anyways, tottally not defending fur farms in any way.. but just something to consider.

  • people theres some thing called faux fur its cheap and saves lives

  • Just because those minks are fed and watered does not mean those people have the right to kill(MURDER!) them. Whatever the condition of the fur farms, it's still wrong to do all this. One can never own animals!!

  • @Mamizia2

murder, by definition, is killing another human.

    Check out a dictionary sometime.

thus, you cannot murder a mink, fox, cow, horse, cat, etc.

  • @Helidono of course they give them an injection, also little stroke and a kiss in the nose just seconds before they die! who r u kidding? isn't giving injection requires the fur to be shaved in order to find vein, which kinda damages the fur? honey, wake up, we don't need to kill animals for fur coats to make silly statement of wealth. Modern quality faux furs look just as good and luxurious. PS. I don't really like Peta, but I love animals. Why kill if there are other options?

  • IT IS WRONG!

  • ...so, lets put people in "shelters" just like this and feed them and say "they`ve been well taken care of".

    BULLSHIT!

  • Say what you will but the animals aren't happy cuz they're still in captivity, they belong in the wild/nature not a cage!Just cuz they get properly fed/given water doesn't make it good! They're still being held agains their will & truth is we don't need animal skins/furs to live.Unless you live in extreme cold conditions & live in an igloo that you have to go hunting for survival then it's different.Humans are just selfish & feel they're better than animals cuz we "have intelligence & they don't"

  • @eviilgrin

are you aware these are considered domesticated, and can by no means ever support themselves in a wild environment. It's like taking a farm-bred cow, and throwing it out in Yellowstone to fend for itself. It does not have the skills that come in hand with growing up wild. It would be easy prey or just up an starve.

  • oh how cute... those "welfared" animals are sleeping so cute on the mesh-wire floors ..

COME ON .. WAKE UP YOU FOOLS

  • @robinsimmerle

in order to keep them from having to sleep in their own waste. It's even practiced with rabbits, guinea pigs, etc..

  • Theese animals live in a prison!

  • Oh!!! You are so nice people!!!! You give food, water and prison (I mean home) to the animals and you kill them painlessly!!! Oh you must be very desperate!!! Do you realy believe that video helps you?

  • oh and by the way, gassing animals is painful process! it is cheap, relatively quick , but definitely not humane! otherwise it wouldnt be banned as way of killing shelter animals in most countries. besides, it's being used only for minks. foxes being genitally electrocuted! it's funny how little research @Kelly2357 did and how @ Fleefleas managed to miss reports on cruelty of fur farms in Denmark and Finland!

  • @amoyrani get your facts straight. Animals don't think like humans. If an animal has food, shelter and (depending on the animal) company, the animal is happy. If the animal is sick it gets healthcare. I have visited dozens of farms in Finland and there is nothing wrong with them. Sure there are reports of cruelty. Welcome to the real world, crime does exist. Now get a life and protest against something that acctually is wrong.

  • @peppeworld you're selfish excuse for a human! my friend, biologist, did research on how being confined in small spaces affects an animal. turns out, very much so. not only it causes mental abnormalities, but even DNA levels change in animal's organs due to this stress. BTW, farmers could't care less if animals get sick, it's cheaper for them to leave animals to die, rather then pay for vet bills. while on the subject, people like you is whats wrong with the world !

  • @amoyrani Yes, I am evil. the world would be perfect if people like me and fur farms didn't exist. Fur farmers are capitalistic assholes and care about nothing but them selves. Your friend the biologist has it all figured out. I am a selfish excuse for a human because I believe fur farms aren't even nearly the biggest problem in the world today. You my friend are an idiot.

  • @peppeworld you're right! meat industry is much bigger problem. human civilisation is major reason for distraction of our world. and yes, wars are a big issue. why? because selfish money driven people like you can't sit their ass down and enjoy peace and beauty. it's all about you and what you want, isn't it? why don't you get lost, and let good people make a little difference, so your grand kids have somewhere to be born in? yep, world would be much better place with no assholes like you.

  • @amoyrani hmm... Im sorry but this debate is shitting itself with you accusing me of things entirely out of context. You are now throwing a cliché into my face about selfish money driven people and good people. You are also claiming that I cannot enjoy peace and beauty. This also is based on no facts what so ever, which in turn just strengthens my point about you needing to get your facts right before opening your ignorant mouth.

  • @peppeworld first of all, u mentioned that there are, in ur opinion, more important causes and that is why I've "thrown em in ur face". second of all, I have checked facts. and the fact is that fur farming is unnecessary and cruel. why don't u believe in that is another question. maybe u hate animals, or maybe u r so arrogant that u don't want to accept the possibility that other species have basic feelings just like us. or u r just scared to face the truth, after all, it's easier that way.

  • @peppeworld and lets talk from the animal point of view. being confined in small cage causes stress and physiological disorders. we established that. walking on the mesh floor causes discomfort, also true. seeing another animal in the next cage causes stress and aggression. fact. being gassed with CO2 causes feeling of suffocation, anxiety, pain in lungs. in conclusion, 24/7 life of stress, discomfort , mental suffering and pain at the end. r u telling me that fur coat worth all this?

  • @amoyrani You can't talk from the animals point of view. The reason you can't do so is simple, animals are not human. This is why we call them animals. To make it perfectly clear, Animals are NOT human. You can't talk from their point of view, because they are not capable of having one. Your "facts" on CO2 are bullshit. Gas yourself and find out. Animals do have basic feelings, but that's as far as it goes.

  • @peppeworld it's funny how u contradict urself. one min animals r nothing, but later u r agreeing that they have basic feelings. then u telling me that we can't talk from animal point of view because we r humans, but what u do is assuming what and how animals think. u calling me ignorant, but u ignoring scientific research. u telling me to grow up?! well, it's not me who wants to wear fur coat just for vanity or status reason, i am confident in myself. u r so pathetic!

  • @amoyrani yes, my luck of education is truly shocking ;) because you are a vegetarian i can assume you are one of 3 things: you are a woman, you have absolutely no muscle in your body(lack of protein), or you are constantly(eating beans to make up for no protein). You are a simple minded fucktard with apparently no education what so ever. You lost your virginity to a mink, this mink seems to still be stuck somewhere up your ass and makes you aggressive. Get it out and we'll talk sense.

  • @peppeworld ha ha ha, stop shaming urself! that's the best insult u could come up with? well done you! u made me laugh!

  • @peppeworld idiot humans are actually classed as animals lol do some research

  • @lioxoda You just failed at being a smartass. good for you.

  • Respond to this video... and then you talk on behalf of animals at the end of your comment, fabulous!

  • @amoyrani Fact is, everything dies. I'd say being gassed is way more peaceful then a natural death, for example freezing to death, drowning, disease or being eaten alive by a larger animal. The meat industry kills way more animals but I don't see as many people bitching about that. I value a coat over a BicMac. Maybe a mink is cuter than a pig. Bro you gotta grow up someday. It isn't all rainbows and sunshine in the real world. I'm guessing you're a vegetarian.

  • @peppeworld yes, i am a vegetarian. and i take it that u have tried to gas urself then, since u r so sure it's not painful?! judging by the noise dogs and cats make when being killed with CO2 it's quite unpleasant. FYI humans are animal species as well and your luck of education is shocking. clearly u r very unintelligent and kinda angry person, but that's ur problem. i don't know what century u live in, but in my world quality faux furs look just as luxurious. u, enjoy ur mink coat, "bro"!

  • @amoyrani

stress and illness isn't a quicker way to kill them - it works against the farmer. Both ruin the animal's coat - which they're already making meager profit on.

  • @amoyrani

Most of the time, larger animals (fox/bobcats/etc) are given injections, same way you put down a dog or a cat or any other animal in a shelter.

  • Of cours if you say "we coming then and then for inspection" everything gets nice and clean, happy animals, happy caring farmers. I bet there is a dambster on that farm, full of injured dead animals! As soon the inspector leaves, everything goes back to the way it was - cruel workers; poor dirty, ill animals, straw-less cages. Trust only undercover videos!

  • Yeah, I bet you'd be merrily supporting the slave trade too if there is 'welfare' for the slaves.

  • Farms like that are the minority. The bottom line is, we do not really need that fur. We can use furs and leathers from meat industry, should be enough. As for the method of killing, do you think it is pleasant to be gazed or genitally electrocuted? Don't think so! The only painless way to kill animal is to sedate em first, then gaze or electrocute. But it is not how it's done, is it?

  • @amoyrani

and WHO says they're a minority? PETA? They have a bad habit of lying blatantly - like "we'll save these dogs! ... by killing them and dumping their bodies in a dumpster."

Not to mention their track record of paying people to do terrible things in order to institute propaganda.

  • At 2:31, there's a clear picture of the "floor" on which these animals live. That's a four legged mammal you idiots! They're not spiders! Those animals should be able to feel dirt under their feet - having them perched on chicken wire throughout their life is cruel. That would be like standing barefoot on a steel grate for your entire life.

  • @DavidSabine

except they are given straw lining for nests....

  • kelly2357 - gassing is one method; electrocution and poisoning of these animals is an industry norm except in Chine where they skin them alive. This video attempts to justify fur farms - BULLSHIT. These animals die unnecessarily to our entertainment and vanity. Shameful. Shameful.

  • Funny how PETA never visits a fur farm like this. They always visit shady places in China, that could be set up for all anyone knows, or they film places that are obviously breaking animal welfare laws and try to get people to believe ALL farms are that way.

  • @Fleefles - many videos have been proven to be set up.

Have a read of this and you will be shocked.

    Google: snuff films animal

    Click on the first result

  • @Fleefles China is the worlds biggest producer, manufacturer, and processor of fur. Literarly, most fur is obtained from China. Even if it says made in other places, the farmers who grow the animals still send them to China to be slaughtered and processed. Therefore, they target Chian because A LOOOOT of the animals used for fur are killed there.

  • @Fleefles What, a fur farm like this where the animals get water and a 3 foot cage to live in their whole life before they get the luxury of 'an instant painless death'? Wish I could live like that

  • @Fleefles Asian fur farms try to torture them as much as they can to induce adrenaline because they think adrenaline makes the product better. It's sick but, I'm glad fur farms in Europe are humane. (Although I still refuse to buy fur.)

  • @Fleefles yeah, as if killing an animal for luxury would be okay, if you'd do it nicely.

don't you get it? these poor things DONT have a life, can't run around and live like they should and could in free nature! they can't because there are selfobsessed stupid people out there who think that only because fur looks good they should wear it! there are a billion alternatives for wearing fur! and they do NOT kill animals!

  • Comment removed

  • @franklanguage Animal electrocution? Have you noticed that this video is showing a mink farm? Please don't show your ignorance so blantly and do some research about how minks are euthanized...

  • Anal electrocution is the usual way animals are killed for fur, so that non of their pelt is damaged. I was disappointed that they didn't show what really happens to the animals when they're made into fur; this is too much like a fairy tale.

  • @franklanguage

Mink are gassed. An instant painless death.

Please research, and not from PETA!

  • @Kelly2357 Just like the Nazis did to the jews! See! They weren't bad! Instant painless death! Who cares that they were treated miserably before hand! They had a painless death! Courtesy of Zyclon-B!

  • @VampireKingDuz

because it's just SO terrible to be fed, kept warm, and protected!

  • @Kelly2357

They are not, they are often also electrocuted and smaller animals are often killed by cervical dislocation.

  • @WerewolfofOblivion

search on youtube for: mink gas box, mp gas box...

Gassing mink is the the standard way of euthanasia, it cheap, quick and humane.

Please try and find a video showing electrocution or dislocation of mink.

  • @Kelly2357

How the fuck can you say "Mink are gassed. An instant painless death."? Either you are brain washed or you're just amazingly stupid. Firstly, the mink is put in a cylinder that then starts spinning while gas is being pumped into it. It's spinning cause the mink dies more quickly. A mink react just like humans on gas, therefor another term that can be used is "being choked to death". Sounds painless to you? Do you think Hitler gassed the Jews without causing them any pain? Stupid MF.

  • @NETTERLID

And that isn't information from PETA, it's self experience.

  • @NETTERLID

    vimeo. com/13847628

  • @Kelly2357 Haha, I have seen you post this before on another video with that word INSTANT, try working at a mink farm before you talk. Mink are pissed the fuck off animals in small cages that will whip up to bite your arm like wild eels out of water. Then you throw them in a tank to have them gassed and if you're one of the ones at the bottom buried by all the other minks you might only get a small dosage of the gas having you be re-thrown in there again and again. You are a pretentious hero.

  • what a crock of propaganda. they feed and provide water to people in prison also....but that doesn't make it a life anyone would want to live. this film is not the norm for an animal who is killed for people's vanity. shame shame

  • @Caitlin2me

Too bad animals are not people. They do not have the same needs or wants as us. That's why keeping pets is legal but keeping slaves isn't.

  • @Fleefles Pets arent the same as slaves, stupid. You're not forcing them to work, and not forcing them under unbearable conditions and treating them poorly.

  • I am a Polish farmer as well we have also 80 year old tradition in Poland in Fur farming. I think our Polish breeding association is making a lot for the Fur branch as well we are farmers that have also pigs and cows which is our culture and tradition for many many years. That animals are farm animals which have a big Influence on the waste Business over Europe. Nobody knows that Minks and Foxes are the biggest consumption market for waste material. So in the end its very ecological!

  • Good video and good conditions for animals.

  • I find interesting to hear the comments of this sector. I am glad to see that they take care of animals! As they say, actually, what is the difference between breeding cows, pigs... for meat or leather and breeding mink for fur!Do you think that people eating meat/fish or wearing leather (i.e. 90% of people) are all heartless bastards? I have a cat at home, I love animals and I find fur or leather nice products!Provided that the welfare is good
