haha i've always found aw ay to get internet on the blackberry for my friends but never for me. But it usually was just me wiping the phone or unlocking it, it still got me internet for some reason, but anyways thnx for the useful info dude!

Basically, adding a voice plan works. However what you don't know is that in that voice plan is a PPU(Pay Per Use) Data plan, which is approx 0.2/kb.

voicedata was an add on feature for older blackberries so they can access IM without the bb internet added. I can attest to this, I added this voicedata feature back in the day when I didn't have internet on my blackberry. but it does not give you internet. I work in customer care and we do not have the ability anymore to add this feature. We're here to help but come on!

Actually T-Mobile is one of those companies that are plain stupid. For example I got my mother on there too. So just because that she isn't prime account holder, they won't talk to her. I got too call them every GDT too make her okay. But they forget that she was on the account. Oh, be careful also. They'll start randomly charging you for this free data plan. If you don't even use it.

@Iullian64 actually I work in customer care also and I can assure you that none of us are stupid and our training is actually 8 weeks long and very thorough. As far as us forgetting that your mother is on the account - how can a rep that never talked to you before have forgotten something you did in the past? You need to ask to add her as an authorized user and all will be finished. It's very easy but all you have to do is ask for it.

@Iullian64 Oh and we don't randomly charge for anything. What you had was a 30 day free trial for data. Just like almost any other company that's ever existed, (i.e. your cable company, home phone company, Telenav, Netflix, etc) after a free trial period you're obviously going to get charged. That's just how it goes. And like @katie13sc said we ARE here to help...but trying to scam the system usually doesn't work.

@URBNSpice They're not being "lazy". It's a job like any other. A lot of the time, the training is half-assed and the employees could care less about who they're working for.

Why would they even bother looking up some obscure plan that they don't even get trained on anymore?

The ones who can get this to work are probably older employees who are already in the know about this trick. The newer employees are probably told lies (just the minutes plan) to keep this under the company hat.
