  • no doubt coolest song of all time

(tho werewolves fans demand a recount)

but mr z's lyrics a bit immodest no?

    how 'bout ...

'i went home w/ the waitress

when things go right that's what i do'

just a minor minor rewrite suggest

  • This is so hot! Makes me well up inside for Warren!

  • great job

  • that was blondie on sail on sailor?? LEARN SOMETHING EVERYDAY, I GUESS.

  • I just found that out myself, I had no idea!

  • Damn, that's hot.

  • Blondie does Warren Zevon well. His best lead vocal (in my opinion) is Sail On Sailor with the Beach Boys.

  • Check out the Wilhelm Scream; I swear that singer keeps doing it throughout the song! LOL

  • The bass player plays with Neil Young on Prarie Wind

  • is it Rick the bass player???

  • sure seems so

    howyaDOIN'?

    grin

  • Damn, this has all the RAWNESS that Zevon intended it to have. Great performance! Blondie is such an unsung hero in this business. I hope someday he's appreciated while he's still able to enjoy it. From Beach Boys to playing with the Rolling Stones and everything in between. This guy can rock with the best of 'em. God love ya Blonds!

  • I would give a limb to play half like Waddy. He is truly one of the greatest guitar players of the 20th century. If you don't believe me take a wiki read of his credentials. That's if you're deaf and you haven't noticed his play. Damn I wish I'd been to the Joint just once and seen him play. KEEP ROCKIN'WADDY!!!

  • Yes, sir/ma'am, Waddy is one of the unsung- that is, by the average music fan- guitar greats.

  • dude, you are absolutely right!!

My band just got back from L.A. and we had priviledge to meet Waddy , Phil and Bernard!

    what to say?

we were at The Joint and just enjoyed their music

    greetings from Croatia

  • @wishicudplaylikethat Been there, seen him there, got to sit in on the warm up when the bar was empty, and meet the man himself backstage at the set break--it was AWESOME.

  • @stableshadow Hey man, lived in a commune in Harrow, London, England, with him and the rest of the South African band at the time, called the Flames!! Have known him since he was 14 ! He's a darling.

  • @wishicudplaylikethat I think what makes Waddy so great is that he plays the song, rather than trying to be the song. Waddy has impeccable taste when it comes to playing. A lesson for all of us guitarists.

  • @wishicudplaylikethat

If you gave a limb, it would then be impossible to play like Waddy. Yeah...pretty much impossible.

    :-)

  • @eyedoc1956 unless of course it was a leg.

  • DAMN! It's like Warren's voice never left us.

And Waddy continues to be L. A. rock's answer

    to Keith Richards. Thanks, riff.

  • Pimp it up a bit more Waddy,

    waddaya doin'€8~/

  • Is this just a coincidence that Waddy Wachtel played on Brian Wilson's I Just Wasn't Made For These Times documentary soundtrack on and on a couple aborted Beach Boy sessions from the 90s and that Blondie Chaplin was in the Beach Boys for 3 years in the early 70s?

  • Great!

...Zevon - ouch just had a pang of sorrow

  • gREAT SONG! Does the guitar player on the left do commercials for Geico Cave Man?

  • That's Waddy Wachtel...can you believe he's 60?

  • he used to play with jackson browne and the gang didnt he ?

  • Blondie is such a gifted musician, great to see this. 'Hold On Dear Brother' when with the Beach Boys was a classic track

  • yeah loved him in the Beach Boys

  • Send Voyeurs,Buns,and Honeys

  • Send voyeurs, buns, and HONEYS

  • awesome....

  • Waddy,Blondie and Rick the bass player from Joe Walsh's band. Not bad! Thanks!

  • RIGHT ON!

  • No one can touch this guy. Unbelievable.

  • Blondie or Waddy? they're both geniuses

  • I was referring to the vocal (Blondie), but you're absolutely right - been a big fan of both for years.
