I have all of Midnight Syndicates albums. They are a gem of a find. If you love Instrumental music. And haunting Gothic ambience. These will be your new favourite musicians. Not a dud album among there catalogue. Hard to get on CD. You're better off downloading them for the time!

it's interesting tho... joseph vargo of nox arcana left midnight syndicate due to bad terms, but when nox arcana comes out with a themed album, midnight syndicate follows with one that is similar. darklore manor (NA) came out, then The 13th hour (MS) both about haunted mansions. blood of the dragon came out (NA) then Midnight syndicate came out with D&D. it's very ironic

D & D came out in 2003, and Blood Of The Dragon came out in 2006. You have it reversed. MS was first. MS released Vampyre in 2002 and in 2005 NA releases Transylvania, an album with a similar theme. MS released Gates Of Delirium in 2001, and now NA is about to release Blackthorn Asylum. Both of these albums are insane asylum-themed.

But, one can say that in truth, Midnight Syndicate has copied Nox Arcana with Gates of Delirium. Joseph Vargo developed the concept for Blackthorn Asylum in 1995, even before he worked with Midnight Syndicate. Transylvania was based off of Bram Stoker's Dracula, it wasn't in any realm of Midnight Syndicate's Vampyre. Dungeons and Dragons and BOTD is a differnet situation. It is entirely possible that MS could've used Vargo's previous ideas from when he worked with them. Obviously, NA plans ahead

To compare Vampyre with Transylvania is a loose link at best. Vampyre is, with respect, generic Transylvania is a tribute to the best vampire literature of the last hundred years. BOTD is basically a D&D-based album, just with a different name. It's like a tribute to D&D, Conan, etc. all in one. It is "The Ultimate Soundtrack For All Sword & Sorcery Adventures." The key word is "all" - it is for ALL sword & sorcery adventures. It obviously includes D&D, by far the most popular S&S game. I don't think Vargo copies MS. I just think there are only so many themes bands in this genre can touch on that it APPEARS that one band is copying the other.

I also find it hard to believe Vargo would copy Midnight Syndicate... he hates the members after his bad loss, and still collects what is rightfully his from the band, so he has no reason to copy them.
