  • I saw Tony on Bway, and he was the understudy for Jesus. I really would have like to have seen him in that role.

  • Everyone: *grabs guns then throws some at Jesus*

Jesus: uuuuuuh, kinda not what I had in mind guys... o.O

  • Ahh I loved Simon when I was younger! excited to see him on the voice now!

  • i like this one better than the first. like if u do to.

  • There's something so weak about this. All the vocals are too clean and the acting so lame. I don't think they could have picked a worse cast for this movie.

  • 0:23 OMG IS DARTH VADER!!!

  • I love how Simon has a tattoo of a Cross and this is before Jesus got crucified...

  • Simon looks just like Lt. Surge from the original pokemon games.

  • I love this version! I like the original, but this version is just way better. Love the harmony, too.

  • I had such a big crush on Simon when I watched this when I was twelve...

  • all in all, the original is faaaar better. Ted Neely is soooo much better than Glen Carter and Carl Anderson destroys the judas in this. However this is the one number that I would say is faaaar better. Tony Vincent is fucking awesome, he was muuuuch better as judas though.

  • @ruddymuggles14 This is the only number in the 2000 version that I can say is comparably good to the 1973 version. It's certainly more bad-ass though I still prefer the cool hippie dance number. I kinda think this should have been made by the guy who made mulan rouge (it'd be the only movie of his I could stand).

  • ok i love this version and all and i have seen the old version also, and what i want to know is....since when was there guns and good clothing in the olden days?? lol Loving it though, just makes me laugh at this revived version, compared to the old one. :)

  • wow, this version of simon is like... so gay. it's... so disappointing, and very very very disrespectful to the hard work that the original cast did.

  • Lot of good that bandoleer's gonna do you Simon, there's no bullets.

  • @a97188 Also, he's using a sub-machine gun, those are clearly rifle casings.

  • i feel like i should be disappointed with how incredibly unsubtle and mildly terrible this production is, but... i sort of love it??

like, simon is a backstreet boy!jewish freedom fighter and everyone is shamelessly eye-sexing each other and everything is spikes and berets and nothing hurts

  • wow... he TRIES WAY TOOO HARD! I LIKE THE MOVIE GUY! WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER SINGER! ;)

  • his eyes....oh my god.hot *__* <3 plus that voice <3

  • Absolutely terrible...

  • This really doesn't rock compared to the 1973 version - needs a much bigger baseline!

  • My favorite song from the films, album, play, cd, theatre............etc.

  • Yes Jesus, that is Simon lol

  • I gotta say, I am a huge fan of the 73 film.......But I love these different interpretations of a classic.......All very cool..........You can't compare them all......Each stand on their own interpretation.........

  • SIMON

  • this sucks compared the the original

  • jesus nor judas

    judas leve me outta this

  • are those garuds darth vaders babys

  • Simon Zelotes is Guile to Street Figter?? XD

  • 10 romans disliked this

  • Judas is so cute <3 :D

  • I love Tony Vincent mmm he is too cute me and my friend heather fight over him during the movie

  • annas is so fing weird

  • i guess they have to change with the times to keep people interested, seeing the disco version of the original probably wouldnt go with today's youth.

  • Jesus looks like edge from the wwe xD

  • Jesus upon the beginning of the crucifixion: "Hey... that looks just like that tattoo on my friend Simon's shoulder!"

  • I find the Millenium version to fit another genetration, it reaches a group who may NEVER be exposed to Jesus in any other way, ripples in a pond...whatver medium to reach the lost. Bravo! I go back to the original BTW, they all reach a certain different group...

  • @RussRamey6

IF THEY HAD DONE A 1980's VERSION, THEY PROBABLY WOULD BE BREAK-DANCING DURING THE SIMON ZEALOTES NUMBER ! LOL !

  • I find that the 2000 version ruins the whole concept JCS in the first place. It just my opinion though

  • Applies today...When do we rise to Jerusalem!

  • Powerful!

  • Question: Why is everyone else dressed in cool modern style clothes and Jesus is in desert-person robes?

  • @anlee617 desert-person?? thats a little rude dont ya think?

  • @anlee617 Symbolism! Watch how Jesus' clothes change thru the production.

  • I prefer the 1973-version, but damn, i love this movie.

  • mix in "jesus Christ" with a little "Westside Story" meets "Stomp" and "Star Wars". I like all those shos so, thumbs up!

    Simon is pretty hot.

  • rawrr x3

  • I love this Simon's style I think that is a little better than the other version well in this part of the movie, do you know where can I get this complete movie?

  • Sex... God...

  • LOVE his face at 2:23 xD tony vincent is a god.

  • this is uncomparaibly horrible... the origional movie is freaking awesmoe. it wasnt about the fame of acting... its was about the sheer emotion u feel when watching a good movie. the jesus from the old version is sexy!

  • this is uncomparaibly horrible

  • @manynyful I prefer this version of Simon's song rather than the original to be honest..but I will say the Judas in JCS 2000 has a god awful voice =p

  • @qzpmystik Judas, Jesus, Herod...they're horrible. Ted is the Ultimate (emotional) Jesus. Carl Anderson is the best Judas. Tony Vincent is the Best Simon! Enough said. Vocally, I'm stuck between Steve Balsamo and Jon Farnham for the vocals for Jesus...

  • i think tony vincent should of played judas in this film aswell as the broadway tour

  • thats a dreamy simon! mmmm

  • Tony Vincent hott as hell; but this movie doesn't compare to the original sorry!

  • St. Jimmy. :D

  • why all of them look that gay style I wonder...

  • Judas is the only Moral Human in this false drama

  • I think the acting in this version is terrible. Or else the cinematographer chose to cut to Judas way too much shaking his head. It's overdone.

  • @MachineAmbition I think the cinematographer was trying to show how disgusted Judas was getting with everything that was happening with Jesus, the Disciples, and just the situation in general. He starting to realize that Jesus isn't this grand holy man that everyone is making him out to be and that all these grand plans Jesus has are going south. Even at the beginning of the scene, you notice Jesus trying to quell the anger growing in everyone, but is unable to do so and it all goes to hell.

  • @MachineAmbition The acting in this version from Judas at least is superb. Jesus Christ Superstar tells the passion from the perspective of one of the most important players Judas.

We all know he betrayed Jesus but we don't know why he did so. That is what JCS is trying to explore. So we have to keep cutting to Judas during this because what happens here pushes him further along the road to betraying Jesus. That is good story telling. We are supposed to be seeing things through Judas eyes.

  • i like the singing in this version better....but i wish they made it a huge dance number like in 73

  • this is much better than the 1973 version of this song. i love it

  • he did fantastic job!!!! i think this scene is beter in this version, than the one in 73s movie

  • ...

    So sexy...

    ;)

  • @ilussionordream jajajajajajaja, verdaaaad xD

  • it wud be good if wen ppl did jesus christ superstar on stage it was as good as this so far most of the ones i have watched r crap on utube

  • hell yh tony vincent looks hot with tht hair but he looks horrible now with black hair !!

    btw love this song

  • I love Tony Vincent - he is just amazing! And looking so good here!

  • The Romans look awesome in that armor. I want to wear something like that in Fallout 3 :3

  • I like Tony Vincent as Simon HATED him as judas. This judas in thi sversion great acting, but his voice is barely tolerable. Guess I am just picky.

  • The best musical in the history of the world XD..

  • What I liked so much about the 1973 musical is that, even if they were hippies, the story was consistent to what I read on the Bible. NO WAY Jesus would watch a riot like that and frown and puff. Simon would be in TROUBLE if he started something like that. Didn't he put the ear back on the soldier when he was being arrested? If Jesus had ever lost control like that, he would never hear the end of it from Judas - in this musical, of course.

  • 1:47 love his voice there !

  • wonderful song and wonderful theatre of JESUS Christ Superstar

  • It's funny because Jesus saids to Simon: Simon and a view second later said Simon Christ

    FUNNY!!!:D

  • yes coz the music really fuckn fits with the fighting. .

    way to ruin it. great.

    superficial bullshit.

  • Tony Vincent is amazing!!! I heard him singing the Superstar number and it is the best I have ever heard. Kris Phillips is the best Jesus I have ver heard!!

  • Yeah, Tony Vincent IS EXTREMELY talented...

    VERY pretty, too.

A "Scene Stealer" if ever there was one!!

  • tony vincent rocks! Plus, he is sexy! lol
