It reminded me of that line from Rushmore, "So we both have dead people in our families." Just writing about death does not automatically equal emotion. They were the Arcade Fire of their time. Plus, they were prominently featured in American Beauty and signed to Dreamworks -- yecch.

That's what I'm trying to tell you! It's still all statistics. I never said that I was an 'expert' this is just my opinion. You can't judge a band by looking at how many number 1s they've had. It shows that they're more successful, but that doesn't mean it's quality stuff. Fair enough, Britney Spears is not a band, she is probably more successful than Joni Mitchell, but she's not a better singer. Oasis are a lot more successful than Eels, but that doesn't automatically make them better either.
