I am just learning how to do this as a hobby and to help a group make a computer game - What do you suggest i start with to make basic human and zombie characters
@TheBlitzer515 I personally would start with an educational edition of maya, which is free. Zbrush would be a definite positive investment. Zbrush is the industry standard for character hi poly sculpts. I would start with those two and move on from there. Documentation and video tutorials are plentiful on the internet for both programs.
Hi I'm a student currently studying Animation at university, I have a few short animations that I have created and would extremely appreciate if anyone would take a minute view them :)
Please subscribe as I will be adding more animations as they are done.

isn't this shit incredibly hard to do? I mean, I'm a level designer, and I can do that stuff with my eyes closed. But modeling seems so... Incredibly accurate.
@MrSandvichSSP for me it's all about artist's intuition. The same way your intuition tells you that "that building needs to go here" or that "the choke point isn't narrow enough on the multiplayer map." For character artists it's the same thing "move this vertex here" or "the nose needs to be bigger." It's that intangible part of artistry. That's why I developed a system for everything that I do.
Hey dude. What do you reccomend for game art? Do you do Maya first, finish on Mudbox and import into your engine, or sketch on Mudbox first but do actual game art on maya? thanks.
@iamanicedemon i am assuming you are talking about going from low res to hi res. If that is what you are referring to then i would say go from maya to zbrush or mudbox, whatever you are using for hi poly.
really good workflow your sharing with us very helpful sometimes i get overwhelmed with what i have to do for one character i need to get better and teach myself so i can finish my game or at least a trailer for it so i can start getting out there
@AlexUchiha11 I use multiple different softwares during the creation process. The text list on the left of the screen shows the software used in the process here. Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush, 3D Coat, UV Layout, Xnormal, UDK. Now many people like to have just one software package that does everything. I am just one of those guys that has a tool for every task. Even if it just does one thing but does it very well then I will definitely have it in my toolbox.

@AlexUchiha11 You would have to purchase each software individually from either a retailer or directly from the website.
