salaam, it's an event that occurs only in certain time which is in zulhijja month where there are some process to be followed. we are actually commemorating the holy prophet Abraham, Hajar, n their son Isma'el during that month, sacrifice to obey G-d in the empty valley of Mecca. this is our fifth pillar of religion and compulsory to those who can afford this journey to fulfill His invitation : )
i remember my voyage to mecca too when watch this but we went by plane.... these guys are very brave.... I wanted to do like them too, but I have no courage like them.
@Kubangpasu I pray that God heard your prayers. Since you're Muslim, can I ask why the Hajj can only be done at a specific time of year and not whenever a pilgrim wants? I read the final sermon of Muhammad (saw) and I'm up to Sura 12 in the Quran, so I may have missed something.
