  • Didnt know the pope had 148 accounts...

  • all these documentaries are severely flawed due to the abscence of THE AQUATIC APE THEORY!!!

  • Humans are not a race, it's a species of several races.

  • I absolutely hate the way they speculate as if they know, like how the hell do they know when we discovered fire? Scientists still can't figure out why we were not wiped out by predators (being so primitive) we cant run very fast, we leave our vitals exposed, we have the wrong kind of eyes for being under constant threat. Our offspring take a long time to walk let alone mature. It makes me think the theory of us smelling so bad was a possibility for our success LOL

  • @pdxeddie1111 That is a very good question, but did you forget about your brains? the brain that let you reason with the comment you posted. I a christian but i do believe in the theory of evolution.

-First of all, we survive because our brains, which can adapt to any situation given the right amount of time.

-Our bodies also adapt to any temperature given the right amount of time

-We form alliances and groups, whereas most animals rely on themselves

-Humans dont just evolve over night dude

  • @Jake4595 instead of focusing on the brain. I think they ought to focus on feet. The more modern our feet became the more dependent on our brains and hands we would become. I believe the foot is the more significant part of the fossil, It's the tell tale sign of human and animal and our foot is almost unique except for neanderthal. I noticed though that they have trouble finding fossilized feet bones from primitive man

  • @Jake4595 --- And "Dude",.Who asked you what faith you are? Do you ever see anyone besides Atheists and Christians announcing their belief system ?" I eat ape meat, and I am a Morman." or "I crap like a monkey, and I am a Scientologist." NO,....so why ?

  • @billy1212ist when i say faith, i meant belief, and when i say belief, i meant knowledge. Do you base your point of view on your knowledge? I know we all do. But where did you get the knowledge? that is the question. Manmade knowledge is knowledge. It can be true or not, but as long as the world agree to it, it is knowledge. SO my point is, dont trust in a "fact" too much. notice how i quoted the word fact. Im a firm believer in evolution, but is it true or not? dont matter. But its knowledge

  • @Jake4595 * It makes sense to me,on the whole.A scientist can be jaded too.Religions are man made, and used to rule the masses. Some need them,I don't bother with such people. Mans "being" has energy,THIS is his link to the unseen, but felt. With no one near me,I was PUSHED HARD,out of the way,of where a car crashed,5 seconds later. This has happened to me more than once,an energy influencing me.

  • @pdxeddie1111 ,,,,,You are foolish.Well they look for fire remains, ash and smoke,or soot markings.Charcoal used in drawing etc.Backwards until they don't find it with frequency. Also tools that were used etc.Our BRAIN was the reason that we were not wiped out,and Scientists are well aware of that fact.Your "smell" theory goes great with the rest of your nonsense. The book,"The Naked Ape" by Desmon Morris, will explain it all for you.

  • @billy1212ist The smell theory isn't mine and it was highly considered possible by the academic community. You see when your talking large expanses of time for transition there would be a definite period where man was very vulnerable between the trees and plains. I'm not here to argue with the likes of you so don't call me foolish the foot is extremely important for the need of a developed brain. anyways a large brain cavity doesn't mean squat it's the ability to use it.

  • sex

  • whoever says that evolution "disproves" god and that evolution is saying that theres no god is a damn fool....all evolution is saying is how god created us....just because it doesnt show it like this in the bible doesnt mean its wrong. and im not a religious guy or anything....but just saying

  • @2cool0 Evolution is a chronological change in alellic frequency in reproducing populations. It makes no reference for or against any of the thousands of proposed supernatural entities.

  • @djarm67-- Backwards,......Some Adam and Eve-ists,say Evolution is not so.And is the devils work.

  • @djarm67 , Those deities who are claimed to have designed any species without genetic inheritance from another species are disproved by evolution.

  • @djarm67

    Man to Ape:

    youtube.com/watch?v=aL8Y58BNctY

  • @2cool0 The evolution does not disprove a God, it just disprove the Gods peoples believe in now, the ones based on the first "created" humans. The question is if anyone will start to believe in a new so far unknown God without any reason to do so. This is simply the reason they fight and fear science so much.

  • @2cool0 You can take your "God of the gaps" argument and sell it to someone stupid enough to buy.

  • @2cool0 Oh, well certainly. However, what evolution absolutely does say is that a supernatural deity is not necessary to explain the amazing diversity and complexity of life. And that is significant. And besides the God Hypothesis will always be impossible to falsify to a certain breed of True Believers.

  • so all species evolved in to something new and the old than went off. so why the fuck there are still apes that not evolved??

  • @MrUberSpanky Populations diverge and speciate. It's like saying if Americans came from Europeans, why are there still Europeans?

  • @djarm67 come on. i guess you dont really mean that, cause it makes no sense at all. good joke, but retarded if thats actually a real argument to go in discussion with me

  • @MrUberSpanky If that makes no sense to you, it's no wonder you completely misunderstand and misrepresent biology.

  • @djarm67 sure. its more no wonder you are a superficial thinker. what you say has nothing to do with that and we talking about a lot more years instead of a view hundred years you mentioning.

  • @MrUberSpanky Learn about the topic. You're simply making a fool of yourself.

  • @MrUberSpanky

No, Uber it makes perfect sense, one is an evolution of culture, and another an evolution of genetics.

You are in fact a small divergence (a NEW combination of your mother and fathers genes + possible mutation) from your parent, and further divergence from your grand parents, and so on. This isn't speculation, it is observed, tested and explained best by evolution. Nothing in biology would make any sense without it... got something better, which isn't pure speculation?

  • Scientists belive the Universe was created by a GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODbig bang. If we look at the bones of a JESUSsaurs rex, I't clear by the use of carbon dating MOUNTAIN DEW IS THE BEST SODA EVER MADE

  • ape to man and back*

  • whats quran

  • bullshit

  • In The Name of God The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

75:(36) Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, (without purpose)?

    (37) Was he not a drop of sperm emitted (in lowly form)?

    (38) Then did he become a leech-like clot; then did (God) make and fashion (him) in due proportion.

    (39) And of him He made two sexes, male and female.

    (40) Has not He, (the same), the power to give life to the dead?"

    Quran 75:36-40

  • @77705000000000000000 No. The Qu'ran is inaccurate regarding embryology.

  • @77705000000000000000

i believe the Quran not this bullshit haha

  • Humans ARE apes!

  • It's only a matter of time before man drives God to extinction.

  • i understand that we came from apes, but i was just wondering if we did, how come theirs no tweener? like half man, half ape like on the evolution scale

  • @mice64 We are 100% ape. All intermediate species between living humans and other living hominoidea are extinct.

  • @djarm67 LOL we are closer to pigs than apes. do your homework fool before mass media shapes your tiny sheepy little mind

  • @MrUberSpanky Excellent. You clearly have no understanding of biology. Hominoidea are all primates.

  • Human ancestor? It's a skull of a ape you idiot!!!!

  • @figgytwo1 lol

  • This is absolutely rediculous! You have got to be kidding, right? This is based not on scientific analysis, but purely based on man's vain attempt to erase any need for God and a Creator. Good luck!!!!

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33 You're right...I retract the comment. Thanks

  • 40,000 years ago your ancestors where still living in caves lmao we were studying the stars, preparing for classes and seasoning our foods and beginning our migration to turn you people in to hybrid neanderthals that you are today =)

  • yea THIS IS A LITTLE BIT OUDATED

  • that's only a theory,,..

that was one of the greatest crime in our past century,,..

if you believe in this matter you are came from an ape.

  • We did not evolve from Apes we ARE Apes. We evolved from extinct primates who were Ape Like creatures. Humans are members of the Hominidae (Great Apes) family. This is basic Biology, Taxonomy to be exact. We are Apes just like Chimpanzees (genus Pan), Gorillas (genus Gorilla), and Orangutans (genus Pongo), are all Apes. Other than that it was a good video.

  • That would suck back then no ps3 or ps1 or ps2

  • Evolution is fact!! However...we did not originate from apes...they are cousins not direct descendants.

  • 8:30 What a bunch of - Neanderthals! If they wanted to camouflage themselves they could have used mud or plant dyes, not animal dung.

  • @drav1dan They aren't camouflaging, they are disguising their scent. Modern hunters spray themselves with deer urine for the same reason.

  • errr they're rubbing shit on themselves

     * @111E982a your comment doesn't make any sense - are you saying you 'cannot even accept evolution'?, confusing and unclear, o well lol

  • Comment removed

  • I cringe every time I see that phrase "believe in evolution"! Evolution is a fact, it's not a belief system people lol. It's a fact, a truth in nature and is something we can either accept or not accept. Gravity is a fact of nature, I accept gravity rather than beleive in it, so silly lol.

  • @MrDBarch i cannot even accept it, because it simply is the fact, part of reality..lols..it is the way it is..

  • @MrDBarch actually evolution is still only a theory. It has a lot of facts that support it but nevertheless it's classified as a theory. Personally I believe in it because i know what kind of facts and theories support it and i also know the basis of the argument that some people use to disprove it. It definitely isnt a "fact of nature" like gravity.

  • @ONceupONatiME13579 Actually Evolution is still a theory? Yes, in the same way Gravity is a theory. It really does not matter if you don't accept it or not, it's still a fact.

  • @MrDBarch I agree that you don't 'believe' in things for which the evidence is extremly strong. I know that to the layman the term "theory" implies a piece of mere speculation and that it's easier to call something like gravity a 'fact' however science deals in theories not in facts. I'm not having a go at you but I'd abstain from using language which implies 100%, since science is not about certainty. The beauty of science is that nothing it claims is certain and beyond doubt or challenge.

  • @MrDBarch i mean cant you like accept something and believe in it?

  • @2cool0 Of course I can! Actually, I think the communication is getting messed up. We're on the same page with this, but it didn't seem like it was. I thought, at first, that you didn't accept evolution, and when I read your comment here you were referring to ME. It got weird. YOU accept AND believe in it, you do both. What I am saying is, if you accept it, then why do you need to "believe" in it, it's not religion, nor is it requiring your faith. "Believing in" refers to faith. Too redundant.

  • @MrDBarch ooh i see what you're saying...but just because you believe in something doesnt mean that its a religious thing but youre right i see what youre saying evolution is prooven

  • I wonder if they believed in a "god" or "gods" back then?

  • even though we use to be them at one time.

  • Oh my god... that is so creepy... monkeys walking and running like humans. Scary shit. Kinda glad they don't exist anymore! haha.

  • @Severe777 The only difference between man and chimps is our brain size and that we walked upright. Scientists now think that our ancestors walked upright first and then started using our hands and that made our brain get smarter.

  • @gregrutz Uhm yea... no shit. I already knew that bro. You aren't teaching me anything new :)

  • @gregrutz Likely they believed in spirits more than gods, like many stone age cultures still extant do.

  • @Severe777 they do, i read somehitng that said in europe, oceania and asia cross breeding between homosapiens and neanderthals has lead to some humans having up to 4% of their dna. no joke. if you're white you're probably part neanderthal

  • If you get to see the Chimps in the Zoo..only then you realize just how similar they are to us.. sometimes when they look into your eyes so serious..you can tell there is some kind of thinking and intelligence.. also the way they move their fingers and the ears are almost like ours..

  • @EuropeanGuy87 Chimps even have a better short term memory than we do, Watch...

    watch?v=zJAH4ZJBiN8

    Scary.

  • But .. man IS ape ?

  • so is that were the expression

    neanderthoug came from?

  • Pure indoctrination!!! Don't buy it people

  • This is a great documentary! Thank you for the upload. I wish there was a television channel that ran 24 hours/day with great stuff like this. The supposed 'intellectual' channels are lucky to have 2 new documentaries a week and other than that they just run repeats and supposedly intelligent movies.

  • everyone knows god suddenly put us here with all this technology he just thought it would be funny to put thousand year old Neanderthal and dinosaur skeletons and tools underground to fool us ;) haha what a joker lol ^^

  • @wolfauraa well, don't you know dinosaurs died out only some thousands of years ago? That's why there are skeletons. The Earth was designed some 10,000 years ago, with humans made, dinosaurs too, but those poor animals would just vanish so quickly, probably pissed God off.

  • @jakubpetricek i lol'd

  • @RaizenToguro I am serious! How do we know how old the Earth is? We read the Bible! And trace our ancestors to Adam and Eve, then we calculate number of generations and we are able to moreless precisely tell the Earth's age. The Bible is a great source. Tells us of all those ancient things, the flood, Noe, Abraham, every daughetr and son of Eve and Adam. Now it is up to us, people of reason, to explin why the hell there's not a single word of dinosaurs in the Book.

  • @jakubpetricek Read up on Moses and you will know what a scam that is. The Bible is about as accurate as news from Fox.

  • @RaizenToguro Man, we both are very lucky we can say this. We don't live in societies run by religious maniacs. I am now reading Koran and God is always the same. - omnipotent yet he takes everytjhing so seriously and he just wants revenge all he time. Religions are fucking scary unless you hear e.g. dalailama speaking. He said: if we find the Holy books to be wrong or obsolete, we change them :-) I like this attitude

  • @RaizenToguro Ask Christians - they know we lived side by side with dinosaurs. Just imagine those traffic jams. You wanna go with a caravan to do business and come across a group of dinosaurs blocking road and polluting the air with their megafarting. Whatever they did they were dealt with with God's justice, I am sure.

  • @jakubpetricek Man i laughed for about 5 minutes.

  • i laughed the other day. A pretty racist video contained Prophet Mohammed's opinion on non-believers and especially Jews. But the video also included an image of a presumably Arab man. Imagine: video with Mohammed's own words and a portrait! Dozens of people wrote, "THIS IS NOT THE PICTURE OF PROPHET MOHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM) NOWHERE WILL YOU SEE HIS FACE BECAUSE HE DEMANDED THAT NONE TAKE HIS PICTURE). What a shame they were not allowed to take pictures in the 7th century.I think I know why

  • @RaizenToguro I mean the Arab tribes had very strict rules and they saw that the rules are followed. In our society we have police. Now this man with whom God communicates on a daily basis (probably had a good connection) becomes very powerful but can he be sure his politics would prevail? You see, he had married his favourite wife, Aisha, when she was 7. But the marriage wasn't "consumated until she's 9! That sick bastard fucked a nine-year old girl. I suspect he didn´ t want his picture taken

  • coz he was simply afraid of the local "police". No society allows middle-aged men fuck a girl with no pubic hair."Hey, Mohammed, let me take your picture for the future generations ,so that they know what the Prophet looked like!" - "Oh no, brother, I don't want them to worship me or my image." - "Very wise, btw how is your wife Aisha?" - "She's very...how to say it....obedient. No need to beat her!"-"And God's ok with THAT?."-"Of course! But only with those who believe in HIM!"- "Cool! I'll join

  • i am catholic i and i believe that god put the necercery ingredients together (the big bang) and let things be

  • @GAMESGLORIOUSGAMES How booring was it for him then, to wait over 14 billion years before his purpose start to happend? Common, this is 2011 it is time for the last humans now to leave his caves and start thinking like the modern man. The christians, muslims etc. is becoming the new Neanderthals of the earth. While we try to figure out the start of it all and theory of everything, you still belivie that a man walked on water 2000 years ago.

  • @herkulesafc "Common, This is 2011"... im going to let you think about that sentence. "belivie" wtf. And how do you know i believe that Jesus (who did exist, only uneducated mongrels dont believe that) walked on water... because it says in the Bible... guess what you ignorant Atheist you dont have to follow or believe (or in your case Belivie) everything in the Bible to be christian... its people like you that make all Atheists look ignorant. Now tell me this, do i try to make you believe in God

  • @GAMESGLORIOUSGAMES You believe a Man walked on water? *facepalm*

"i believe that Jesus (who did exist, only uneducated mongrels dont believe that)" So because people are not educated in the "fiction" that is the "bible", you call them mongrels? You're making yourself look really stupid with that comment, then again, 99.9% of religious people are.

  • @brierley2190 sorry for slow reply. Any countless historians over the centuarys (atheist, theist and agnostic) have said that a man called Jesus who lived around the same time (about 2000 years ago) and was crucified in the same place... with along with the 2 people (in the bible 1 rejoiced and the other didnt) are historically documented to have been there. Now it is basic (RE/Religious Education/Religious Studies) to know that a man called Jesus existed.

  • @GAMESGLORIOUSGAMES Jesus probably did exist - was he the son of God? No, impossible because there is no God - did he perform miracles? No, he was probably a charlatan/illusionist.

  • @brierley2190 prove it... now what your going to say is "prove he is real" were as i cant and you cant so it comes down to BELIEF and FAITH

  • @brierley2190

Jesus was a tool of Constantine the Great. It does not matter if he existed or not. He needed a new Sun God to unify his new empire. So Jesus was born on December 25th on the Winter Solstice. It is all astrology, 12 disciples that he travels about with are the 12 consolations that the sun travels through. The Christian Cross is an adaptation of the Cross of the Zodiac. All Mythology has it's roots deep in astrology.

  • @brierley2190 Theres a god... That is for a fact... Its just not the god you think these mainstream religions would have you believe.

  • Criss angel walked on water. He also has some nice card tricks!

  • Man is just another ape, their is no god, no heaven, no magic creation. As to man's origins and the origins of the universe our current theories are beautiful yet only the most basic lattice work of future understanding.

  • lol @ 5:33

  • In Islam the garden of eden wasn't on earth, could argue Adam and Eve were pure soul there and then came to this limited universe, they ensouled homo sapiens and went on to ensoul others this way explaining their descendents finding other humans.

Although that opens a new can of worms because people could devalue others and claim their soulless therefore irrelevant.

  • Still a savage animal anyway.

  • I am a Muslim and I believe we came from monkeys (Not todays monkeys, of course. Ancient monkeys that are a common ancestor). I believe that God just created a little cell of life and energy, and also light, and let everything happen by free will? Adam and eve were probably the first true homo sapiens, or homo ergasters. That seems much more miraculous and the beauty of nature is really emphasized by evolution.

  • @Tazy50: "Adam and eve were probably the first true homo sapiens, or homo ergasters"- So, two people were sufficient to have an entire species survive and be this dominant? Have you considered problems with inbreeding and other things- I mean, with their kids and their kids and so on? Sorry, but that's an epic fail at retrofitting. Seems like you haven't understood evolution at all, even though you claim to marvel at it.

  • @SYLFan2008 they probably weren't the ONLY first humans. i never said that...

  • @Tazy50 Hindus have a similar belief, a god known as Hanuman.

  • @MattyTheMole yes I'm familiar with that

  • @Tazy50

It's great to see that religious people see how much more elegant evolution is if you are a god and wanted to create life.

But the problem is that you are just pushing back god to things we don't know scientifically today. Some day we'll probably find the solution to how life forms naturally and in steps without god magically creating a fully functional cell.

Cutting edge physics is near discovering what created the big bang and possibly even trace the physics of what was there before it

  • @HerrKnitler Maybe God didn't "create" the cell, maybe the idea of "creating" in the Bible is just symbolic, since evolution hasn't been discovered yet back at that time. And also I think my idea makes more sense (to me, at least) than the Bible/Quran itself, because it shows a scientific transition to Adam and Eve, instead of just magically being created and mass producing to over 6 BILLION people in a matter of about 6 thousand years?

  • Could someone give some link to videos for mammalian evolution upto ape.

  • damn i saw this video at 11.20 pm i am goin to stay up late too

  • this documentary video is fake, fairly tale, and is just theory that maintain in theory.. we are no apes..

  • @temami70

Yeah, and horses are Amphibians! Failing the basics of animal classification is something I would expect out of a six-year-old, NOT A FULL GROWN MAN!!!!!

  • AND TO THINK MAN ONCE THOUGH 2 HUMANS ADAM AND EVE STARTED HUMAN RACE AND THAT 1 GOD CREATE THE WORLD HEY NOTHINGS CHANGED!

  • @allanro28 Great! But if the bible isn't literal, then from where do you get your concept of god. Or even the evidence for his existence?

  • Comment removed

  • @allanro28 My question is...from where do you get your evidence for a god if not from the bible? If not from the bible, how do you know who he is and what his rules are? If not from the bible, how do you have ideas about his morality and his creation story?

  • Comment removed

  • @allanro28

Yeah yeah yeah......go back to church where you belong!

  • Comment removed

  • @allanro28 I believe in God except within the context of a CoE Parish Council and of course the McDonalds Hamburger marketing department wherein it is totally absent

  • @allanro28 You call this drivel "intelligent debate"? I suggest you get off your soapbox, stop lecturing others, show some humility and absorb a little knowledge first.

So you think the bible is metaphorical. Why would your god not want to just say it like it is? Have the guts to admit the obvious - it's just another myth, like all the of others people once believed in. A myth is just a religion nobody believes in anymore. Evolution, like all science, is incompatible with your silly bible

  • Comment removed

  • @allanro28

    Get a grip, man!

    Yes, I am an ape.

Forgive me for thinking you value the bible and xtianity, but this is what you wrote: .".i believe god caused all of these....it is so easy to unite the two schools of thought when you get away from the literalism of the bible". So if one shouldn't take the bible literally, the implication is that it is a metaphor. If not, why mention it at all? It's either bullshit or it isn't - there's no inbetween.

Relax, man (or woman) - nothing personal.

  • @vjwebster sorry...seriously

  • @allanro28 Hey - that's impressive!

  • @allanro28 ...thanks man....when i read my comment i realized i had been quite nasty...no need for that...we are all on here for fun after all so i dont want to be a dick to anyone....no harm no foul

  • @allanro28 We are all apes, just a another type of ape.

  • damn. i remember when history channel actually played things like this. you know, history. i miss those days.

  • If you dont believe in evolution or modern science then dont watch this. Simple as that. Dont smack talk something just because it isnt interesting to you or you dont believe in it. This is actually really cool.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrCameltail and this is actually really TRUE!

  • evolution is bull crap.

  • @feces100 can you proove it !?

  • @feces100 lolol and what does that make religion?

  • Religion is for the ignorant who choose superstition over reason.

  • why in the fuck would they say "400 centurys before christ" at 4:10

so what about "jesus" he is only for the weak

  • @bizarewigga what the fuck lol cause nobody says 'before jesus' its BC as in 'before christ'

  • @bizarewigga

    christ = jesus...

  • never mind i read it wrong lol

  • I don't like how this documentary goes. They should have started with our very first ancestors and then work their way up from there.

  • @N00bcrunch3r

but thats not how they conducted their search. they went forward in the time of the search. 1850s-1990s. its easier to understand going in our centuries than that long ago.

  • @Sothe1424

Maybe for you, but not for me.

  • This show is not a science documentary. It is a history documentary, documenting the history of the discoveries of the human fossils that we have today and the philosophical arguments that drove it. There seems to be a lot of confusion on that point in the comments on the segments. Perhaps the thrust of the documentary explains why it appears that no scientists were consulted on the narrator's script.

  • What I wonder is why the physically weaker type of human with the smaller brain won over the stronger type of human with the larger brain.

Maybe weaker humans where more fertile?

  • @Shavarnarak: Because the brain provided the instrument of flexibility that made the difference, along with the utility of the hand. The brain gave the species better tools, clothing, language and civilization to cushion many of the shortcomings of under-specialized humans.

  • the facial differance would be very obvious. from the nose bone structure, id say it had an almost ape type flaring nose. designed to take in huge amounts of oxygine.

  • has anyone ever noticed how make "dislikes" there are in ANY of these kinds of evolution type videos?

    It's sad, really.

  • how did Neanderthals become extinct?

  • @MsDeliciouzz Neanderthals Went extinct around 30,000 years ago when homo sapiens began to move into their habitat. The added pressure from archaic humans and a changing climate were probably the nails in Neanderthals coffin.

  • @AlexanderDGraham: Not sure about that climate-change thing. The interglacial didn't start warming until 20,000 years ago, according to the ice cores. At least one researcher wonders if they weren't simply bred back into H. sapiens, based on the research released in April 2010 that shows neadertal genes in European and Asian sapiens.
