Mary, of course God doesn't create gay people as a distinct species; what a silly thought! But He, in His infinite wisdom, does create some of His children to be gay, just as He creates some of them to be taller, shorter, green-eyed, left-handed, blonde, brunette, etc. It's all part of the LORD's plan for mankind. Since being gay isn't a "mistake" in the first place, you are partially right when you say only men make errors: THEY are wrong when they mistakenly label homosexuality as "wrong". :)

Even if gay people have "some illness of the mind" and it isn't genetic, does that mean we SHOULDN'T be gay? Or that gay people would all suddenly start being straight? No, of course not. I should be free to make whatever choices I see fit about my life as long as it has no impact on another. A very good saying goes "My rights end where your nose begins". The argument about it being a choice or not is really just a red herring, and unfortunately, lots of people fall for it.

Are you then going against all scientific consensus about this issue, which is that being gay is not an illness and that it is unchangeable? What if it was an illness, which science has agreed it is not, and they didn't find a cure? What would you have happen to us then? What if I felt it had no detrimental impacts on my life and so I didn't want to be cured, but still felt I should be able to have the same rights as the non mentally ill?
