Hey! Thanks for the feedback. Another wealth of information can be searched at cogdog's 50 ways of digital storytelling
While I recognize the value in tripods and the like, the off-the-cuff nature of this vlog may not allow for such structure all the time. A part of the purpose of these videos is to allow folks to understand who I am. I don't want to script that part.
A vlog is a one shot, one go type thing. If this is your intended approach then it's fine. Keep filming everything, you can always use stuff for B-roll.
You should record everything and then watch, the audience doesn't want to see the thought process, they want the final thought. The great thing about video is that you can cut out those sections.
Two techincal points - please try and use a tripod or a monopod as much as possible. And avoid filming sounds when it is windy.
Hey Les, So I couldn't find my IDS notes, but I still remember some of what Robert said to the class. I'm not sure if you are trying to create a vlog type film or what. Whatever style you are doing I hope the follow construtive criticism helps:
Write a script, plan the shot types (near, medium, far), what effects in the scene, and transition types, draw your scence with stick people, set a time limit similar to a page limit.

Youtube has a 500 character limit. Sorry for the broken message.
