  • Good question. Off the top of my head I know the 440 had it and then the 445 which John Deere made in Argentina in the 1960s. There may be others but those are the main 2 I know of. Robert Moline

  • Was this the only John Deere to be produced with a Detroit Diesel engine?

  • i believe that the engine has an excessive rattle, compared to my 4-435's that has a louder bottom end. just saying

  • @deere435 Sounds like it might be some metal on the tractor itself rattling somewhere, but if it is indeed the engine...... Ruh roh. You don't just come upon a 2-53 parts engine everyday anymore
