Are any of the beaches within walking distance? What are the logistics like?
You rented a car for a month? How much was your rent on the car?
I'm going with two other guys, and we're all beginner surfers; what would you recommend?

Sanch, can't really walk. We rented from National - picked up car at airport in Liberia and returned it to there. Cost about 1500 for the month for a 4-dr sport utility 4wd (called a Bego) great little vehicle. That way there is no worries about getting places. There are very few places to stay in Nosara that you can get by without a vehicle unless you really like walking.
Just go to Guiones to surf - very safe and consistent waves.

Playa Pelada is a little closer - but Guiones is the better surfing beach. Playa Ostional is the other direction - some surf their, but check with the locals first. You must go snorkelling at San Juanillo. Takes almost 1/2 hour to drive but excellent snorkelling close to shore.

Can't wait to go! My friends and I have rented the place for a month from mid-August until mid-September. Hopefully we won't get too rained out!
How far away is the closest beach? I heard playa Guiones is about 7-10 minutes drive... Are there any other ones?
