I was @ this game as a 13 year-old. Bo was playing right field for Memphis. Terry Steinbach his a fly ball to shallow right field, and instead of playing it on a hop and holding Steinbach, a slow runner, to a single, Bo foolishly tried to show off by making a sliding catch. The ball bounced past Bo and rolled all the way to the wall. Steinbach ended up with an inside of the park home run. Bo was always such a show off, and it exploded in his face.
He was still learning the game of baseball. His sheer raw ability was astonishing, but baseball has so many subtleties that it is a difficult sport in which to excel from the onset. I've no doubt that Bo would have learned quickly and become an all time great. As strong as he was, he could have shortened his swing and STILL hit 450' home runs. His arm was amazing, his speed was amazing, and his power was amazing. He had 3 of the 5 baseball tools and should have easily harnessed the other 2.

@avalsonline He never really practiced, he had two months off. Compare him with deion sanders and he's a great ball player.
