brilliant!!!! and despair at the same time....a shame that bands that have such a vibe let it go...too many great bands are gone that left a lasting impression on me and too many are still around for which I would as soon forget!!!!!
I saw them at The Mayan Theater in Los Angeles back in 2001 it was great. I saw Elijah Wood there too with some girl. He was so small I couldn't believe it. :)
Love this band more than soup on a winters day. Every time i listen to them ( which is quite often) i just want to see them perform live again. Never had a buzz like it. Was fortunate enough to see them a good few times live, seen a lot of live music, but The Beta's are the best i've experienced.
duygusal bir yaklasimla anlamsizlik ve ataletsizlik icerisinde iyi seyleri umit etmeyi anlatir. Can anyone help me with this: I was trying to find a video by this band which features a very hot looking nurse dancing in a hallway and fighting with various soldiers from different wars who pass through. Can't find it anywhere. I am pretty sure it was from this band. Thanks.
Noel has already came out and said he ripped it for "Go let it out". He has ripped a lot mate. Listen to "Same size feet" by the Stereophonics and tell me what Oasis tune it sounds like. Kelly wrote it a long time before Noel had a hit with it. Still love Oasis though mate.
I cant believe this farewell tour was 2004. I can remember this tune coming on and bouncing around to it with the Maybes. Back in the good old days hey. Man i am getting old. Booo
Hope now that oasis have split up that Gallagher can finally admit stealing the riff for this song for go let it out and pay these guys some fuckin royalites cos the beta band were far superior live than those manc losers. EDEN PROJECT 2004 BABY!!
@shamuscolemanfanclub Ur so right idk why so many people like Oasis like the band honestly sucks hugeee balls compared to the beta band and many more bands
Oh wow man, heard the song on Hi Fidelity and thought "fuck that sounds cool, should check it out" finally did it just now, and far out - one of the best songs ive ever fucking heard!
thanks for posting this, they were so good in the day. brings memories of uni back, playing the three ep's on repeat. Glasto 02 they were brilliant after a shedload of schrooms. Nothing beat portsmouth 1999 though, incredible gig. best ever,

here we have a 37 year old that sounds like a 14 year old, with the spelling and punctuation of a 4 year old. What are you even doing viewing this? try something more on your level - that Peter Andre and Jordan show on ITV for example.
I have to say, although one of their more popular songs, partially due to it's appearance in the movie High Fidelity, which is a classic film, it is definitely one of their best. Nothing beats cruising down some back country roads in the middle of the night, on a few hits of acid, and nothing but The Beta Band flowing into my ears... A life changing moment for me, "the vitamin tablet that saved my life", if you ever come to a jam in life, there is no better medicine, I promise you...
You clearly know very little about this band....Gordon _was_ in The Beta Band, but left due to illness just after they signed their record deal. He and Steve formed the band together when they were teenagers and then John and Robin joined.
Steve has been very public about his battles with depression - he called off his first KBT tour after the Beta Band split because he was so unwell.
The BB split because they were in an insane amount of debt and Steve wanted to go solo.
Although what you are saying about Gordon Anderson may be true - I don't know - Steve Mason's mental health was the straw that broke the camels back for the Beta Band. Put 'Beta Band split' into any search engine and you will find many interview's with Mason explaining why he felt it was time to leave the band. That IS the reason they split.(According to Steve Mason).
No point in arguing with Wax-Humper. He knows more about the Beta Band than even Steve Mason. Just ask him, Oh wait that's right. you don't have to wait. He'll tell you himself. Apparently, when he's in his room jerking off with the lights out these "facts" just come to him. Hopefull, some day he'll get to meet Steve Mason and straighten his ass out on the real reason his group broke up. LOL.
All of them are still making music to this day! It flies in the face of common logic to think they split due to lack of commercial success. KBT and the Aliens have little to no measurable commercial success but they still make music.
If this band has given up because they are not making money then I think that they have made a big mistake.Persevere because you are excellent and in time you will get the rewards and recognition that you merit.

Outstanding band!!! I was fortunate enough to see them at Glasto '02 and at the Carling Academy in November 2004 on their final tour. "The minority is always right..."
Without Beta Band, I wouldn't be making music today. When I saw them perform in Tempe, Arizona several years ago, something clicked in me and I've been making music since then. Thank you Beta band...
These guys should have been as big as any of those bands. They never got the attention they deserved while lesser bands of that era of music like blur and oasis got much more success. I found out about this band by accident and find them vastly more edifying than what is more mainstream in my culture. This flies the flag for me more than brit pop ever did.
I was there...just wanted to say thanks for posting this, watched it this morn and quit my f**king job, loaded up the car and now we're headed to the beach with 12 quid and three cats.

Great song by a great band. Saw them play 5songs at the Roadhouse in Manchester (small & dingy dungeon if you've never been), and they were class. Saw them a few other times, always brilliant. Like many others, not as successful as they should have been.

As much as i love The Beta Band, Oasis's "Definitely Maybe" is 1994, The Beta Band's "Three Eps" is 1998.
A better comparaison woud be with The Shins that came a bit later.

It was a combination of record company debt and Steve wanting to go solo.
Gordon was out of hospital quite a long time before The Aliens came about. He had nothing to do with the Beta Band splitting.
