Johnno, tbh, pc users are jealous because they cannot afford one of the best computers out there. There is a reason they are 1200$ and pcs are 200. Do the math buddy. Buy yourself one or test one out in the apple store. Trust me, it's worth it.
Do you use that false excuse to justify Apple charging $850 dollars to upgrade the Mac Pro from 2GB of RAM to 4GB of RAM back in December of 2007? I'm not lying! I'm not exaggerating! I wasn't drunk! It was true. Industry-excellence companies like Corsair and OCZ were offering 4GB of RAM at that time for $150 bucks. Far superior.
Don't buy into the Mac myth, my friend. Research the hardware that goes into each machine. You will not be able to justify it in the end.
@Dalek2314 Nigger please. I could build a PC for $1,200 and it would put a Mac of the same price to shame. Plus, there's always the option to customize and upgrade a PC. With a Mac, you're stuck with whatever the company puts out (much like video game consoles).
@DerHelhund Fine, fucking make a PC. I dont give a shit. In my opinion, not yours, a Mac suits my needs for a computer. I know macs are perfectly capable of getting viruses. They just dont get as many because the macs make up about 4 to 9 percent of computers. And I could re wire a mac and use linux and make a good computer, it would be hard though.
i laugh at mac users who say macs dont get viruses even the makers of apple admited that their products get viruses it goes to show mac users r so lame they cant afford to own a real pc they buy 2nd rate computers
@MrPlasticbagman12 relitivly yes, but their arn't that many that can screw your computer over because since their isn't that much of a majority for macs. Virus makers go for the majority. (windows) Plus, macbooks are a bit smaller and lighter than PC laptops. so you should be fine. heck, Ive used windows all my life and I even think of getting a macbook but they are way too expensive for me. :(
The first Virus ever written was for a Mac in about 1982 called the ElK cloner,
The trouble is mac users think you cant get virus on a mac but you can, is just that why write it for a mac when on 5% use them, there are lots of virus in rhe pirated versions on adobe photoshop etc
@mrwideboy This is false. Academic research with respect to malicious logic called "computer viruses" started back in the late 1940's. The first virus to be noticed in "in the wild" was the "Creeper" virus that infected machines on the ARPANET back in the early 70's. These where not Apple devices.
i have actually created a virus for mc it was easy what it does is it crates random generated ppasswords for everything (desktop icons etc) that change every 15 minutes
To all those stupid Mac users, it is possible to make virus for mac, eg the black hole RAT. Its just there's no point of making a virus for mac. Windows has more users, therefore has more virus. However this is what all the anti virus programs are for.
As macs get more popular, hackers will start to focus on them, The in trouble. As apple is arrogant they don't develop there security as well as windows.
@kevinle1210 So you're saying that the fact that it's not most popular is the reason why NO ONE AT ALL ever developed a virus for number 2, which millions of people still use? And thus Windows, which has thousands of viruses, obviously is the one with better security?
@thegreatcheesedemon firstly I did make a virus but i cheated based on someone elses source code and secondly how many security updates does windows had and how many has mac had. and remember no system is perfect every OS has security flaws that why they are always compromised and improved. Not saying Mac has no security, just want people to know that, yes make has virus and the users are pretty arrogant saying "my mac will never get any virus', one of the commercial said so."
@thegreatcheesedemon Just like when bill gates released XP. he said "no more worrying about virus' or hackers my system is impregnable. you know what happened, a group of hackers broke into the main system, didnt corrupt anything but left a message instead "Hey Bill we're in"
@kevinle1210 First of all, OS 9 had a shitload of viruses and had way less market share than OS X, explain that. Number two, as much as Mac users rub it in the face of hackers that they don't get viruses, don't you think hackers would love to get the credit of being the first to make a virus that seriously fucks up a Mac? Macs CAN get viruses, but they're NOTHING like a Windows virus (and are far less common) you get get from opening an Email attachment and takes complete control of your machine
@kevinle1210 Really? then by this logic the internet should be rife with Unix based viruses.. most of which would be targeting Solaris and Linux...but you don't see that do you? UNIX IS THE INTERNET, and always has been...so there should be plenty of Unix viruses, worms and malware...but there isn't. Ponder this for a while before you call any one stupid.
@popasmuerf First of all, im talking about Mac which is unix BASED. note it is not unix. And it is possible to get viruses on unix, but I'd admit it's rare. Also Non-technical users are restricted in their ability to install, run, or modify software when using Unix. i reckon without inexperienced users installing software whenever they want, over 90 % of the threat of viruses and malware is removed. unix users would be monitoring servers so, i would expect them to be experienced with there work
@kevinle1210 You are totally side-stepping the issue I am trying to raise. I am arguing that the "market-share" argument falls flat when you consider that the internet for most of it's existence has been running on Unix machines. Most important back-end tasks performed over the network are accomplished by Unix machines...so if market-share mattered that much then we should see plenty of Unix viruses, but we don't and never have. Now, why do you think that is ?
@kevinle1210 In this context I mean Solaris, AIX, BSD, HP-UX, Linux, etc....mainly focusing on Solaris, BSD, and Linux; the platforms that were and continue to run the 'Net behind the scenes.
@kevinle1210 I hate it when people like you jump to conclusions when you have no fucking idea what you are talking about, Im here, I'm a windows user, who switched to mac. Now I'm a Developer and i KNOW that is complete bull, saying they don't get viruses because they don't have a majority is a complete lie by windows fanboys. The real reason is the UNIX os and the Darwin kernel that prevent unauthorised access, a virus Gets into your pc without you knowing as it sneaks in through a flaw.
@ScDnBMusic I'm not a windows user, i use linux, the point was, more virusers=more targets. But linux and mac do get virus's not very often. The share market is a factor, and (imagine long slur of annoyance and sigh) being based unix helps a lot too.
@kevinle1210 With a mac, EVERYTHING that happens has to pass the admins account and will require a password to be entered, things that are unsafe, those AUTODOWNLOADER viruses that attack pc's from a webpagem won't work on mac, even if someone designed it to specifically attack macs it couldn't as there is no way anything can get in without an admin password. EG. I can get access to someones windows pc Via there IP and change files without a password; easy. i CANNOT do it on mac, it requires the
@kevinle1210 ..Admin to enter a password on the mac itself before entry is allowed. There are a ton more reasons, but let me just say, after 2 years of owning a mac i've never had a virus/been hacked/has a key logger planted. One more thing, apple now own almost half the computer market and with the amount of hackintosh pc's there are, it wouldn't surprise me if apple own more than half of the computer community now...
@ScDnBMusic first off, i'd like to know where you got your stats, because that sounds far'fetched. secondly, IF that is true, i'd be willing to bet that it would be just the public side of things, because it's pretty common knowledge that Windows makes up the very vast majority of the business market,so when you combine the two, it'd be windows that makes up the majority of the market
The iPhone has already suffered mass data thefts from hacking, and Mac computers only account for 6% of the world's computers. 30 million may sound like a lot. 300 million sounds far more attractive, don't you think?
Yeah Hackintoshing is the way to go, but still, you're dealing with OSX at the end of the day. I run OSX using parallels just to keep up to date on what's happening, but as a dedicated system? Makes no sense.
@kevinle1210 There were lots of viruses for mac OS 9 which had even less market share than mac OS X. It is just difficult to make a virus for os x . What hacker wouldn't want to create the first destructive virus for os x?

GO WINDOWS! hahaha. (Purpose of comment: Humor) (I am biased towards windows but macs are good for those who dont like figuring computers out.
@doragonmonkasei Figuring out computers my ass. I used a Windows 7, XP, Me, and Windows 95. Trust me I feel like they all work the same. It doesn't take much of a genius to figure out many problems with these computers. Macs work the same as well, there much to these computers.
@haza102 other systems used only for some things liike...Your pc has infetcted!you will rin unix and conect your usb stick into your pc to save your files.
@haza102 hahahahahhhahhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahhaha!Because you hate macs?hahahahhahahahahhahaaha work in theese systems and you will see something different
@curtisthecooldude This video is very real. I am currently working with the Bureau Uncovering Terminal Terrestrial Sections. Sections are classes for demonic infections. This is an A class section and is highly dangerous. I stumbled upon this video while researching by brothers Macintosh Section related death. I highly recommend that you stay at least 10 feet away from any Macintosh in the area as 1/3 of Macs do get infected.
Good thing that virus in not real, poor things (the computers). I bet they got a lot of money doing that, without a virus a computer is a friendly guy, (well, a non Windows computer that is). When you go out of your house or when its time for bed they boot up and move on there own, they do things we do. ( Be with friends, play, work, that stuff) When you ignore them they become sad.
@Bluerooster100 true, but mac is overpriced. Did you know that making the ipod touch only costs 40 dollar to apple? And then they sell it to you for $299, but it's cool cause it's made by apple and it has a shiny logo on it. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Oh, and not to mention the shitty bassless earplugs you get with them.
actually,, there is a virus on mac.. i heard of this AppleScript-THT Trojan which specifically targets Mac OS X. The virus affects the Apple Remote Desktop Agent software in OS X to compromise the operating system, and gives remote control of the user’s computer to hackers. The virus, however , ignored the Windows operating system completely...
but even though, Mac viruses are really rare..because the users are also rare!!
...any OS can be affected by viruses...its the truth!!!
It has two :) as of 2008. It probably has more as of March 2011. I use OSX. Just not on a mac. I think different than the average person and went on HACKINTOSHING. A hackintosh is a pc running osx. Hackintoshes are usually built pcs that you build at home. They can save you 50% or more and they are upgradable and overclockable too.
@wiigamer136 I do both. I have a Mac Mini, an iMac, and I have a Hackintoish that I built last year (as my Mac Pro). Over the past 4 years, I have built several Hackintoishes and OS X 86 has come a long, long, way since the early days in both stability and (especially) installing it (I use a store bought vanilla version).
Still, I know of NO "Viruses" out there in the wild for the Mac and still challenge ANYONE to identify one.
@wiigamer136 Trust me , "Dude", there are NO, ZERO, NADA, "Viruses" for Macs or OS X in the wild...
I laugh at you're calling me "Dude" as I am over 50 and have been part of the "computer world" since I bought my 1st TRS-80 in 1978. I'm not so stupid to believe that one day someone may indeed create a virus to attack Macs in the wild - My Point is, to this point in time - no one has...
They have a few Trojans as well - but they don't count. And by the way I totally applaud your intellect on IT (you taught me about what makes a virus a virus.)
@Dexter7724 And you Sir have identified the closest thing to a virus that can infect Macs. For years there has been debate over OSX/Oompa-A. It isn't a Trojan, and it really isn't a virus (although security experts debate this regularly)... It still requires user interaction, but it can self replicate. On the other hand it requires an admin password to run...
Perhaps it show be classified as a new type of malware, most people call it a "worm"...
@SMBR48 Macs are indeed "popular".. Their use is growing faster than Windows based PC's. What you are trying to do is invoke the old "Security through Obscurity" Myth that Mac bashers always present. Here's a few things for you to consider...
Linux has a MUCH smaller market share than OS X and has viruses in the wild for it.
Mac OS9, had a MUCH smaller market share than OS X and had several hundred viruses in the wild.
The bottom line is, Mac OS X is simply more secure.
@1CharismaticEnigma Ah NO "Dumbass", I said there are NO VIRUSES in the WIld for Macs, and I stand by it , "Dumbass"...
You know of a Mac virus? - name it, otherwise go away you ignorant, uneducated, and big mouthed piece of shit... Come on, "Dumbass", prove me wrong...
Another punk kid who has no idea what he's talking about... Pffttttttttt
@Dexter7724 The Newton "Virus" isn't a virus at all. It doesn't exist in the wild, it's incapable of replication, and requires user intervention to install....
Thanks for playing. Now run along and learn what a virus is so you won't continue to make a fool out of yourself in matters you obviously don't understand...
I am so lucky i dont have a mac rofl. Btw I am writing a book about how to remove and sweep viruses from pc.

doragonmonkasei 8 months ago 2
@doragonmonkasei Figuring out computers my ass. I used a Windows 7, XP, Me, and Windows 95. Trust me I feel like they all work the same. It doesn't take much of a genius to figure out many problems with these computers. Macs work the same as well, there much to these computers.

curtisthecooldude 9 months ago
@curtisthecooldude This video is very real. I am currently working with the Bureau Uncovering Terminal Terrestrial Sections. Sections are classes for demonic infections. This is an A class section and is highly dangerous. I stumbled upon this video while researching by brothers Macintosh Section related death. I highly recommend that you stay at least 10 feet away from any Macintosh in the area as 1/3 of Macs do get infected.
(P.S Thank you for stating the obvious.)

@24man30 There are NO viruses for a Mac. None, zero. I challenge you to name just one!

Uh, there are.
In the world of software, anything is possible. It is just difficult to make a mac virus.
wiigamer136 10 months ago
@wiigamer136 I agree 100%, anything is possible. It doesn't change the FACT that at this moment, there are ZERO viruses for OS X in the wild..
bibbler227 10 months ago
@bibbler227
It has two :) as of 2008. It probably has more as of March 2011. I use OSX. Just not on a mac. I think different than the average person and went on HACKINTOSHING. A hackintosh is a pc running osx. Hackintoshes are usually built pcs that you build at home. They can save you 50% or more and they are upgradable and overclockable too.
wiigamer136 10 months ago
@wiigamer136 I do both. I have a Mac Mini, an iMac, and I have a Hackintoish that I built last year (as my Mac Pro). Over the past 4 years, I have built several Hackintoishes and OS X 86 has come a long, long, way since the early days in both stability and (especially) installing it (I use a store bought vanilla version).
Still, I know of NO "Viruses" out there in the wild for the Mac and still challenge ANYONE to identify one.
bibbler227 10 months ago
@bibbler227
Dude, there are two. Apple payed that guy $5000 since it is extremely hard to make mac viruses.
wiigamer136 10 months ago
@wiigamer136 OK, If you say there are two "viruses" that can effect OS X in the wild, name them. - Dude...
bibbler227 10 months ago
@bibbler227
dude, I just read it somewhere.
wiigamer136 10 months ago
@wiigamer136 Trust me , "Dude", there are NO, ZERO, NADA, "Viruses" for Macs or OS X in the wild...
I laugh at you're calling me "Dude" as I am over 50 and have been part of the "computer world" since I bought my 1st TRS-80 in 1978. I'm not so stupid to believe that one day someone may indeed create a virus to attack Macs in the wild - My Point is, to this point in time - no one has...
bibbler227 10 months ago
@bibbler227
I just read that somewhere. I'm not saying that it is 100% correct that there are mac viruses according to the thing I read.
wiigamer136 10 months ago

OSX/Oompa-A - spread by IM
They have a few Trojans as well - but they don't count. And by the way I totally applaud your intellect on IT (you taught me about what makes a virus a virus.)
Dexter7724 10 months ago
@Dexter7724 And you Sir have identified the closest thing to a virus that can infect Macs. For years there has been debate over OSX/Oompa-A. It isn't a Trojan, and it really isn't a virus (although security experts debate this regularly)... It still requires user interaction, but it can self replicate. On the other hand it requires an admin password to run...
Perhaps it show be classified as a new type of malware, most people call it a "worm"...
bibbler227 10 months ago
Macs do get viruses not like this but a real virus, the only reason they don't get hacked as much is because there are alot more pcs than macs

@bibbler227 yeah, but Mac is not popular
SMBR48 10 months ago
@SMBR48 Macs are indeed "popular".. Their use is growing faster than Windows based PC's. What you are trying to do is invoke the old "Security through Obscurity" Myth that Mac bashers always present. Here's a few things for you to consider...
Linux has a MUCH smaller market share than OS X and has viruses in the wild for it.
Mac OS9, had a MUCH smaller market share than OS X and had several hundred viruses in the wild.
The bottom line is, Mac OS X is simply more secure.

@bibbler227 Newton Virus
Dexter7724 10 months ago
@Dexter7724 The Newton "Virus" isn't a virus at all. It doesn't exist in the wild, it's incapable of replication, and requires user intervention to install....
Thanks for playing. Now run along and learn what a virus is so you won't continue to make a fool out of yourself in matters you obviously don't understand...
