You're right - "Corner Gas" isn't so much about the humour as it is the characters and the zany mishaps, but have you seen any other Canadian programming? ("Trailer Park Boys" and "Kenny vs Spenny" are good choices, in my opinion.) If you wish for something a bit more risqué, there are Canadian shows for you in that sense. :)

For me Corner Gas -is- about the humour. I love the puns and the "language jokes", it's all hilarious to me, the show has me and my family laughing out loud crazily the whole episode.

I find it hilarious, too, but the relation between all the characters is what is more interesting for me. Still, compared to other shows, the humour is very different - zany and goofy (albeit with its witty moments). Personally, I think it's a humour only us Canadians understand 'cause sometimes, it comes off rather subtly! :)
