1. The subtitles are possibly not translated correctly. Japanese, and many other languages, is a language that cannot be directly translated to English. You can only get the general message that is trying to be said.

2. What that line is referring to could possibly be your face, or a mask, or a disguise. One side is clean and innocent, and the other side is dirty and impure.
