Hi, Well vinyl has been steadily coming back. And you can get reissues nowadays of mostly everything + you can get record players with a USB connection!
Thanks for making more people aware of this brilliant album - the first of several superb Hillage solo albums at the time, and a bridge between the later Hillage and the pre-Gong work with Khan. Khan's Space Shanty album may also appeal to people who appreciate Fish Rising.
BTW in your list of the several excellent musicians you somehow missed Tim Blake (credited as `Moonweed' on the album) who contributed the beautiful synth shimmers and bubbles as well as playing tambura.
This was a blast from the past, i saw hillage 3 times twice at the marquee in london and once at the sun down way way back, its great to hear him again, i got all my vynils nicked a few years ago, must replace these with cd's of steve, well done great sound.................................
Sorry to hear that! It's a wonderful wonderful record.. Not very difficult to find though? you might have a look at gemm, they have lots of second-hand vinyl, sometimes real bargains:)
Cheers mate - on vinyl too! Takes me back to small flats, dope and friends. The kids I work with love Mr Hillfish but it takes an old hippy to re-introduce the world to Salty Soloman Salmon, y'know? Despite system 7, Mr Hillage will remain Jimi Hendrix left armpit. Thanks again mate.
Happy days, saw Steve with Gong at the Watchfield free festival, a few hundred years ago!.....
