@type2moo you can also take it to a more specific level if you wish... the town can simply be a small town in the USA... they have something like oh i don't know a famous apple pie... then the government comes in and promises to make the town better... the "blind" people agree and sell the pie... then the government "shoots" all the "happyfolk" (actually take that one at face value...) and then all that's left is a factory in the town's place and "nothing"...
