auto tune is just a tool artist should use carefully, not that is great.... kanye's 808 used a lot of auto tune because he wanted the people to feel the depression he was going through at the time, so using auto tune to create this distorted sound was he's way of communicating those feelings (he's reality at the moment was distorted)... in my opinion he succeeded
